1.1 Intended use
A Nugget ice machine is a device for making ice that is soft and therefore easy to chew, while still hard enough to dispense. This product features a transparent lid so that the ice level in the device can be easily checked. This product comes with an ice spoon holder so you can have your utensils within easy reach. The indicator light shows when the ice basket is full. The compact size and handle make the product portable and suitable for use in most places.
The supplier is released from liability for any injury or damage caused by using the product beyond its intended use. Any modification of the product may affect your safety and warranty.

Always observe the following precautions when using ‘the Nugget ice machine’, hereinafter referred to as ‘the product’.
2.1 General

  • If this is your first time using the product, it is important to read the user manual and instructions carefully.

  • If the product is malfunctioning, dropped or damaged, do not use the product and consult our customer service.

  • Before each use, check the parts and accessories for damage or wear (cracks/ breakage) that may adversely affect its operation and, if so, replace them with original or manufacturer-recommended parts and accessories.

  • Do not use accessories not offered by the supplier. They may pose a danger to
    the user and damage the product.

  • Use the product only for the purposes indicated in this user manual.

  • Do not disassemble, repair or restore the product. Doing so may cause damage to the product. For your own safety, these parts should only be replaced by authorized service personnel. Always steer the product to a service center for repairs to prevent damage and personal injury.

  • Be aware of the risks and consequences associated with improper use of the product. Misuse of the product may result in personal injury and damage to the product.

  • Before first use, remove all packaging material and any stickers.

  • Keep the product away from heat, areas where the temperature is relatively high and heat sources such as ovens.

  • If the product is left empty for a long time, turn it off, defrost, clean, dry and leave the door open to prevent mold from growing inside the product.

  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosols containing flammable propellant near or inside the product.

  • The lid and reservoir should be carefully cleaned according to the cleaning instructions in this user manual. They are not dishwasher safe and must not be cleaned under running water, immersion, partial immersion or strong wetting. Water must not penetrate the housing. This may cause damage to the product.

  • The refrigerant isobutane (R-600a) is in the product’s refrigeration circuit. This is a natural gas with a high degree of environmental compatibility, yet is flammable.

  • After unpacking and before turning on, the product should be placed on a flat surface for at least 4 hours. This will allow the cooling circuit oil to return to its intended location in the circuit.

  • Place the product at least 5 centimeters away from surrounding surfaces, especially combustible materials, such as textiles, bedding, curtains, plastic, electrical power carriers, wood, etc.

  • Provide free space around the motor housing. Keep the vents of the motor housing free of dust and lint to prevent fire, never expose them to liquids or flammable materials such as newspapers, napkins, tea towels, etc.

  • Always keep the product upright during transportation and during use. The product should always be used without tilting or laying on its side.

  • The product is not intended for storing or keeping food cold.

  • The product is only suitable for indoor use. Do not use the product outdoors.
    Doing so may result in damage to the product.

  • Do not use the product in temperatures above 40˚C. For best results, the indoor temperature should be between 15˚C and 32˚C and the water temperature between 10˚C and 20˚C.

  • The product does not act as a freezer. The ice will melt if you leave it in the product too long. Use the ice immediately or put it in a freezer bag and put it in the freezer.

  • Watch the temperature of the water you add, if you add too hot water, the first few rounds will be slightly less effective at making ice. After one or two rounds, the water temperature will drop and everything will return to normal.

  • Place it on your countertop in a cool and ventilated place. This will significantly improve the ice making capacity. The operation of the product varies with water temperature and ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is too high, you can close the lid to keep the ice at temperature.

  • Using pure or distilled water will ensure to make more transparent ice.

  • When the lid is closed, it is not secured.

  •  For hygiene reasons, the product should be cleaned regularly. Always unplug and turn off the product before cleaning.

  •  Do not use (highly) flammable cleaning agents to clean the product. These agents can cause explosive gases or fire.

  • If you are not using the product for a long period of time, remove the drain plug from the product and drain the remaining water.

  • The product is not dishwasher safe.

2.2 Persons

  • This product may be used by children 14 years of age and older, provided they are properly supervised and instructed in the safe use of the product and understand its potential hazards. Cleaning and maintenance of the product should not be performed by children unless they are over 8 years old and supervised.
  • The product may be used by people with physical or mental disabilities, provided they are properly supervised and informed on the safe use of the product and understand its possible dangers.
  • Keep the product and cord out of the reach of children.
  • To avoid electric shock, do not allow pets or small children to chew on the power cord.
  • Do not allow children to play with the product. Use and store the product out of the reach of children.
  • Place the product out of reach of pets and other animals.
  • The product contains R600a refrigerant. Escaping refrigerant may cause injury, burns and suffocation. Immediately ventilate the area where the product is located in case of possible refrigerant escape.
  • Consult a doctor immediately if the refrigerant comes into contact with the body.

2.3 Use

  • Do not cover the product when it is on. Never place pillows or blankets on or against the product. This may cause a fire hazard, electric shock, personal injury, or damage to the product.
  • Do not use the product near a bathtub, shower, swimming pool, or near a (laundry) tub filled with water. Do not touch the product and power cord with wet hands. Do not allow the product to come into contact with water.
  •  Always place the product on an even, stable and non-flammable surface.
  • When the product is on, (hot) air comes out of the ventilation system. Keep your face and hands away from this ventilation system.
  • Use the product only in protected areas or away from weather conditions.
  •  Keep ventilation openings that are built in free of obstacles. This includes, dust, sand, earth, plants or similar obstacles. Failure to do so may result in a fire hazard, personal injury or damage to the product.
  • Do not touch the product with wet hands, this may cause shock or other personal injury.
  • Make sure the ventilation system is not blocked when the product is on. This may cause overheating. Keep at least 5 cm space around the ventilation grille.
  • Use the product within the specified environmental parameters and away from flammable gases, vapors and solvents.
  • Never use the product in a location with a risk of explosion.
  • This product has an IPX0 rating and is therefore not resistant to (splash) water.
  • Do not use the product if the water tank is empty. This may cause damage to the heating elements.
  • Never use the product with liquids other than water such as coffee, tea or alcohol.
  • Keep the product away from extreme heat sources or direct sunlight.
  • Do not put anything on top of the product.
  • Do not allow liquids to spill on the product to preserve its service life.
  • Fill the water tank with tap water only. Do not use sparkling water or other liquids.
    This may cause damage to the product.

2.4 Electrical

  • If the power fails during use, turn off the product immediately and unplug the product.
  • If the surface of the product is cracked, turn off the product to avoid electric shock.
  • Check both power cord and plug regularly for signs of damage or wear, and if there is any, do not use the product and have the power cord and/or plug replaced or repaired by authorized service personnel.
  • Do not immerse the product, power cord or plug in water. If water does get inside or on the product, turn the product off immediately and contact our customer service department.
  •  Use and store the product so that the cables cannot be damaged.
  • To avoid electric shock, do not use the product if you suspect the power cord or plug is damaged. A damaged power cord or plug should be repaired or replaced by a professional (an authorized distributor).
  • Do not unplug the product by pulling the power cord. This may cause fire or electric shock.
  • If black smoke comes out of the product, unplug the product immediately. Wait until the smoke is gone before removing the contents of the product and contact our customer service department.
  • Do not leave the cable(s) hanging over the edge of a table or countertop.
  • Do not place the cable(s) on hot surfaces or near oil.
  • Do not tuck the cable(s) under rugs or blankets. Never lay the cable(s) in a walkway.
  • Do not move the product by pulling the cord or twist the cord.
  • Before connecting the product, make sure that the mains voltage indicated on the rating plate matches that of your mains supply.
  • Make sure that you do not trip over the cord(s) and that the cord(s) are not kinked, twisted, or stuck.
  • Do not move the product while it is on. Always turn the product off before moving or cleaning it.
  • Do not use electrical appliances in the product’s food compartments unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use mechanical or other means to speed up the defrosting process other than those recommended by the supplier.
  • Never leave the product unattended when in use. Never use the product when going to sleep. This may cause a fire hazard or personal injury.
  • Turn the product off before going to sleep due to fire hazard and risk of personal injury. The product does not have an automatic timer or shutdown.
  • Be careful not to damage the cooling circuit. This may cause damage to the product and cause the product to stop working.
  • Do not use an extension cord. Make sure that the product is plugged into an outlet to which no other appliances are connected.
  • The product is not suitable to be operated via an external timer or a separate remote control.
  • The product should only be connected to a grounded 220-240V outlet.
  • Unplug and turn off the product when not in use and before cleaning the product. Do not use the product near devices that may cause electromagnetic interference (e.g. cell phones in communication, microwave ovens). This may cause the product to not work accurately.
  • Should the system that controls the internal temperature fail, the overheating protection will automatically turn on and the product will stop functioning. Unplug the product, let it cool down completely and restart the product.
  • We do not recommend using an extension cord because it can overheat and create a fire hazard. If you do have to use an extension cord, use an extensioncord of at least 1,5 mm2 and with a plug with a minimum rating of 250V 16A.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

3.1 Before first use

  1. Remove the packaging and check that all accessories are present. If any parts are missing, contact our customer service department.
  2. Remove all tape on the product and remove the accessories from the product.
  3. Clean the inside of the product with diluted detergent, warm water and a soft cloth.
  4.  Then rinse the inside with clean water and drain the water out through the drain cap on the front.
  5. Clean the outside of with mild detergent and warm water.
  6. Dry the inside and outside with a clean soft cloth.

◊ Make sure the plug is always readily accessible.
◊ Always fill the product with drinking water only.
◊ Place the product on a flat work table, away from direct sunlight and other heat sources (i.e.: stove, oven and radiator).
◊ Make sure there is at least 15 cm space between the back and sides of the product and the wall.
◊ Let the product rest for at least 24 hours before plugging it in. This will ensure that the refrigerant in the product has completely subsided.

3.2 How to use

  1. Ensure that the drain cap at the bottom is properly inserted into the product.
  2. Remove the ice basket.
  3. Pour cool potable water into the water reservoir (maximum 1.1 liters at a time and ±10°C water temperature). Make sure never to exceed the MAX level.
  4. Replace the ice basket.
  5.  Plug in the power cord. The indicator light turns red.
  6.  Briefly press ‘Ice/Clean’ to make ice.

Note
◊ The product needs some time for the water to cool back completely and make solid ice nuggets.
◊ Pressing ‘Ice/Clean’ for 5 seconds will start the cleaning program.

3.3 Control panel
3.3.1 ‘Ice Full’ indicator
If the ‘Ice Full’ indicator light is on, it means that the ice basket is full. The product will stop working until the ice basket is emptied. Once the ice basket is emptied, the product will start producing ice again.

3.3.2 ‘Add Water’ indicator
If the ‘Add Water’ indicator light is on, it means that the water in the water tank has run out. The product will stop working until the water tank is filled and ‘Ice/Clean’ is pressed again. Please note that the compressor takes ±3 minutes to restart.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Cause Solution
The ‘Add Water’ indication lights up. There is a shortage of water. Stop ice

production, fill the water tank with water and press ‘Ice/Clean’ to restart ice production.
The ‘Ice Full’ indicator lights up.| There is too much ice in the ice basket.| Empty the ice basket.
No ice can be produced.| Remove the obstacle on the inside or clean the ice basket.
The ‘Ice/Clean’ indication blinks red.| The ambient temperature or water temperature in the product is too high.| Make sure the product is in an area where the temperature is max. 40°C and pour cold water into the water reservoir.
| Refrigerant is leaking.| Press ‘Ice/Clean’ twice and restart the ice-making program. If this problem occurs again, have it checked by a qualified technician.
| The lid motor is defective.
| A line of the refrigeration system is blocked.
Ice production is slow.| The air outlet is blocked.| Make sure there is at least 15 cm space between the outlet and surrounding objects.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

5.1 Automatic cleaning procedure (water tank)

  1. Press ‘Ice/Clean’ for 5 seconds. The indicator light will flash white.
  2.  The product will perform the cleaning procedure for 15 minutes and stop automatically.
  3.  During the cleaning procedure, press ‘Ice/Clean’ to stop the procedure immediately.
  4. After the cleaning procedure, remove the lid and ice basket. Rinse the water tank and secondary water tank well with clean water.
  5.  Then place the product on the edge of the countertop near the sink. Make sure the product is stable.
  6. Remove the drain cap at the bottom of the product, as shown in the image. The dirty water will drain into the sink.
  7.  Replace the drain cap when the water tank is completely empty.

Note
◊ Before the cleaning procedure, check that the drain cap is inserted into the product. If it is not, the cleaning program will not work correctly.
◊ Change the water in the water tank every 24 hours to ensure reasonable hygiene.
◊ When the product is not in use, drain all the water and dry the water reservoir.

5.2 Complete cleaning

  1. Unplug the product.
  2. Remove the drain cap and drain the water into a basin a sink.
  3. Make a solution by diluting one teaspoon of lemon juice with five cups of water (for daily cleansing).
  4. Pour the solution into the water tank up to the ‘MAX’ water level.
  5. Plug in the power cord.
  6.  Hold down the ‘Ice/Clean’ button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes white and the cleaning process starts (15 minutes).
  7.  When the indicator goes off, remove the drain cap and drain the water into a sink.
  8. Repeat steps 4 to 6 with fresh water for two more cycles to rinse the inside.
  9. Replace the drain cap.
  10.  When finished, fill with fresh water and press the ‘Ice/Clean’ button to start ice preparation.

Note
◊ For monthly cleaning, use white vinegar instead of water to remove mineral deposits. Allow the white vinegar to soak in for at least 12 hours.
◊ The black part of the lid is removable by gently snapping it off.
◊ Do not use solvents or harsh cleaners.

STORAGE

Store the product in a clean and dry place. Do not store the product in extreme high or extreme low temperatures.

DISPOSAL AND RECYCLE

Think about the environment and contribute to a cleaner living environment! You can contact your local council for all information on disposal options for discarded products.
7.1 Disposal
** At the end of its life, do not dispose of the product with normal household waste, but hand it in at a government designated collection point for recycling.
Dispose of the packaging and accessories in accordance with the environmental regulations in force in your local council. Pay attention to the symbols on the different packaging materials and – if necessary – dispose of them separately. The packaging materials are marked with letters and numbers: 1-7: plastic, 20-22: paper and cardboard, 80-98 composite materials.
7.2 Electric appliance

The symbol shown here with the crossed-out garbage can indicates that this product is subject to European Directive (EU) 2012/19/EU. This directive states that at the end of its service life, you must not dispose of this product with normal household waste, but hand it in at a government designated collection point for recycling.
7.3 Refrigerant
This product contains the refrigerant R600a propane. The system is hermetically sealed. The refrigerant must be disposed of without damage according to the regulations of your local council. If in doubt, contact your local council.
