  • PREPARATION: Read the mounting instructions carefully and make sure that all items of the parts list are included.
  • CAUTION: Make sure that your vehicle is parked safely and cannot fall over. Turn off the engine and remove the ignition key. Let the engine/exhaust cool off if necessary. Disconnect the vehicle battery when working on the electrical system. Use appropriate tools and wear always safety glasses and hand protection. Have another person help you.
  • MOUNTING: All parts and connections removed from the vehicle must be reinstalled in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer specifications or replaced by parts and hardware delivered by SW-MOTECH.
  • WARNING: Secure all threads, unless otherwise specified, with medium­strong strength liquid thread locker. Torque specifications undefined by SW-MOTECH must be obtained from the vehicle manufacturer or by a certified motorcycle workshop!
  • FUNCTION CHECK: After installation also make sure that no moving parts are obstructed, and function of the vehicle is not hindered in any way. Cables and hoses must not rub and/or be pinched.
  • WARNING: Before starting to ride, perform a comprehensive check of all functions. After the first 50 km and then at regular intervals, check the tightening torque of all connections and the proper fit of the product. Installed accessories can change driving behavior/stability of the vehicle.

  1. WARNING: Always wear eye and hand protection!

    Remove the footrests and the engine guard from the vehicle.

  1. NOTICE: To mount the crash bar with the SW-MOTECH centers/and, please refer to the illustration on page [51.
    Support the engine with a suitable jack.
    Loosen the shown screws from the vehicles frame.
    Attach the mounting brackets (1] with the footrests on both sides to the vehicle.
    WARNING: Use liquid thread locker!
    Do not fully tighten the screws yet

  1. Insert the plastic plugs (8) into the openings of the crash bars (4).
    Attach the crash bars (4) loosely on both sides of the vehicle to the mounting brackets (1).

  1. Now attach both of the crash bars (4) with the original nuts (Orig.) to the vehicles frame.
    WARNING: Use liquid thread locker!
    Do not fully tighten the screws yet.

  1. Reattach the original engine guard to the vehicle.
    Connect the crash bars (4) at the front connectors.
    Once all parts are aligned without excess tension, tighten the screws (51 and (12) as specified.
    Tighten the screws (2). (9) and those of the engine guard with the manufacturers’ specified torque.

  1. If the carsh bar is to be attached together with the SW-MOTECH center stand, attach the crash bars (4) to the mounting brackets (*) of the centerstand.
    Tighten the screws as specified.

  1. Insert the rubber grommets (2) into the openings of the engine guard (1).
    Then push the flanged spacers (3) into the openings of the rubber grommets (2).

  1. NOTICE: For vehicles of the year of manufacture 2021 – the spacers (6) are not required. In addition, use the original nuts (Orig.) when attaching to the upper mounting plates of the vehicle.
    Attach the engine guard (1) to the original mounting brackets.
    WARNING: Use liquid thread locker!
    Tighten the screws as specified.

  • WARNING: Ground clearance can be reduced by this product! Special care should be taken when cornering at extreme lean angles and / or riding on uneven surfaces (for example curbs and bumps)!
  • WARNING: All motorcycle exhaust pipes have large geometric tolerances. Make sure to double-check all part clearances in the affected areas!

    NOTICE: Installation is shown for the left side. Repeat for right side with applicable parts.
    NOTICE: Since the threads of the original handlebar end weights were glued with threadlocker, a certain amount of force is required during disassembly. Clean the threads afterwards. If mounted, remove the original hand guards. The original cable holders must be moved before mounting .
    Mount the shown parts to the handlebar.
    WARNING: Use liquid thread locker (screws (3) only)!
    Do not fully tighten the screws

  1. Attach the bars (6) to both handlebar ends.
    WARNING: Use liquid thread locker!
    Do not fully tighten the screws yet.

  1. Attach the inner ends of the bars (6) to the connectors [2).
    WARNING: Use liquid thread locker!
    Do not fully tighten the screws yet.
    Position the bars (6) in preferred position and tighten all screws in the following order: (7), (9), (3) & (4).

PRODUCT SPECIFIC INFORMATION

  • WARNING: Make sure to leave the handlebar in the neutral mounting position, otherwise the hand protectors may touch the fairing!
  • WARNING: After the installation check all operations of all handlebar controls, specifically the throttle, front brake, kill switch and clutch, to ensure they are operating correctly and are in accordance with the OEM specifications. Do not ride the vehicle if any controls are not operating correctly. It may be necessary to move the brake and clutch controls toward the handlebar end by a few millimeters to achieve a correct fit.
  • Make sure the handlebar can fully turn in either direction. If parts of the product makes contact with the tank at full steering lock, it may be necessary to rotate the handlebar up (forward) slightly to allow adequate clearance.
  • NOTICE: Observe the country-specific regulations concerning vehicle registration/operation as well as TOV regulations if applicable. If required, register installed parts in the vehicle documents through an appropriate inspection authority.

Mounting Instructions

ATTENTION: The assembly of this product can be complicated and requires a good technical understanding. If you are not sure of how to do this, have a specialty garage perform the mounting and service. SW-MOTECH accepts no liability for damages caused by improper installation.

ATTENTION: After the installation check all operations of all handlebar controls, specifically the throttle, front brake, kill switch and clutch, to ensure they are operating correctly and are in accordance with the OEM specifications. Do not ride the motorcycle if any controls are not operating correctly. Make sure the handlebar can fully turn in either direction. Check periodically (50 km) that all bolts are tight.

NOTE: Installation is shown for the left side. Repeat for right side with applicable parts. Attach the handguard shells (1] & [2] to the backbones [befor mounting the backbones to the vehicle]. as shown in the drawing.
ATTENTION: Tighten the screws carefully by hand (max. 2 Nm]. Do not overtighten the screws!
