Instruction For Use

Lincoln Town Car 1998–2011

Proper alignment of the window glass must be performed prior to reinstalling the door panel.

Failure to properly align the window glass can result in premature failure of the window regulator assembly.

Install the window regulator assembly and properly attach the window glass to the window regulator lift plate assembly.

  • Install but DO NOT completely tighten the nuts for the two mounting points at the top of the window regulator rail.
  • Install but DO NOT completely tighten the fasteners used for the two mounting points at the bottom of the window regulator rail.

Temporarily connect the power to the window regulator motor from the window switch assembly.

Raise the window glass to the full up position. Then tighten the nuts for the two mounting points at the top of the window regulator rail to 9-14 Nm (80-123 Lb-In).

Lower the window glass to the full down position. Then tighten the fasteners for the two mounting points at the bottom of the window regulator rail to 9-14 Nm (80-123 Lb-In).

Disconnect the power to the window regulator motor from the window switch assembly and proceed to reassemble the door and door panel assembly.
