OIL DIPSTICK TUBE
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
- Always wear proper safety equipment when performing repairs.
- Ensure at your point of purchase that this part fits your exact vehicle configuration.
- Reference the appropriate service manual for your vehicle. If you do not have a service manual, and do not have the training or experience to perform the necessary procedures correctly, seek the services of a qualified technician.
IMPORTANT: Applying excessive force may cause breakage.
STEP 1: Remove old dipstick tube.
STEP 2: Ensure mating hole is free of all debris and corrosion.
STEP 3: If the dipstick tube has an O-ring, lubricate it with clean
engine oil before installation.
STEP 4: Orient dipstick tube to align with mating hole.
STEP 5: Grasp dipstick tube at flange above the O-ring and apply downward
pressure until the flange is fully seated against mating surface.
NOTE: To aid in installation, select a wrench that is just large enough
to fit over the tube (but not the flared section near the base of the tube) to
allow downward force to be exerted without bending the tube.
STEP 6: Secure in place with bracket.
