Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Prepare for Work
Ensure the engine is cool before starting any work on the exhaust manifold.
Step 2: Assess Broken Bolt
Check if the broken manifold bolt is flush with the exhaust manifold surface.
If necessary, grind it flush.
Step 3: Adjust Heat Shield and Install Clamp
- Trim or adjust the exhaust heat shield to make room for the clamp.
- Apply high temperature thread locking compound to the bolt threads.
- Attach the clamp to the cylinder head using unused factory holes.
- Install mounting bolts through smooth holes on the clamp and tighten to 30-37 ft-lb torque.
Step 4: Install Clamping Bolt
Apply high temperature thread locking compound to the clamping bolt, insert it
through the threaded hole on the clamp, and torque it to 18 ft-lb.
Step 5: Final Steps
Reconnect the connector to the coolant sensor. Test drive the vehicle and
check for exhaust leaks. Re-torque the clamping bolt if necessary.

INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1:
Remove connector to coolant temperature sensor.
STEP 2:
Verify that remaining portion of broken manifold bolt is not protruding past
exhaust manifold surface. Grind flush if necessary.
STEP 3:
Trim or adjust exhaust heat shield as needed to make clearance for clamp. Apply high temperature thread locking compound to bolt threads before installation. Attach clamp to face of cylinder head by using unused factory holes on face of head. Install mounting bolts through smooth holes on clamp and tighten head mounting bolts to a torque of 30-37 ft-lb (40-50 Nm).
STEP 4:
Apply high temperature thread locking compound to threads on clamping bolt,
install clampking bolt through threaded hole on clamp and torque to 18 ft-lb
(24 Nm).
STEP 5:
Reinstall connector to coolant sensor and test drive vehicle. Check for any
exhaust leaks.
Re-torque clamping bolt if needed.
