DORMAN 600-901 Transfer Case Motor

Description:

DTC-C0308 will be set when the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) determines a short to ground in motor control circuit A or B.

What causes DTC-C0308:

DTC-C0308 will set when the Transfer Case Control Module detects a variation in supply voltage going to both the Motor Control Circuit A or B. DTC-C0308 will also activate if the feedback voltage is excessively low on Motor Control Circuits A or B. Once DTC-C0308 has been activated, all of the 4WD shifter will be inoperative and will cause the “SERVICE 4WD” light to turn on.

How to access the diagnostic trouble code (DTC):

Once there has been a DTC set, the vehicle will either set a “Service 4WD” light, or the lights on the 4×4 switch will fl ash and/or stay lit. To access the DTCs, you will need to hook up a vehicle diagnostic scanner utilizing the service port under the driver side portion of the dash.

When to clear a DTC:

  2. A hard DTC will clear once the vehicle has run through one hundred (100) start cycles and detects no faults.
  3. To clear the DTC manually, you will need a vehicle diagnostic scanner (Scan tool). Once the DTC has been erased, go back into the vehicle system and verify that the DTC has been erased and that the system is performing properly.
