DORMAN 600-907 Transfer Case Motor
Product Information
Specifications:
- Product Code : 600-907
- Component: Transfer Case Motor
- Diagnostic Trouble Codes : DTC-C0308, DTC-C0310
Product Usage Instructions
DTC-C0308:
Description: DTC-C0308 is set when the Transfer Case Control Module detects a short-to-ground in motor control circuit A or B.
Cause: This code is triggered by a variation in supply voltage to Motor Control Circuits A or B or if the feedback voltage is too low. Activation of DTC-C0308 renders the 4WD shifter inoperative and illuminates the SERVICE 4WD light.
Accessing DTC: Use a vehicle diagnostic scanner connected to the service port under the driver’s side dash to access the trouble codes.
When to Clear a DTC:
The DTC should only be cleared once the underlying voltage concern or mechanical issue has been resolved.
How to Clear a DTC:
- The TCCM will clear the DTC automatically once the initial problem is fixed.
- A hard DTC will clear after one hundred start cycles without faults.
- To manually clear the DTC, use a vehicle diagnostic scanner (Scan tool) and verify proper system performance post-clearing.
DTC-C0310:
Description: DTC-C0310 is triggered when the TCCM detects an open circuit in motor control A or B, or an open motor circuit.
FAQ
- Q: How do I know if the DTC has been cleared successfully?
- A: After clearing the DTC, ensure to verify that the system is functioning correctly by checking for any warning lights or error codes using the diagnostic scanner.

DTC-C0308:
- Description:
- DTC-C0308 will be set when the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) determines a short-to-ground in motor control circuit A or B.
- What causes DTC-C0308:
- DTC-C0308 will set when the Transfer Case Control Module detects a variation in supply voltage going to both the Motor Control Circuit A or B. DTC-C0308 will also activate if the feedback voltage is excessively low on Motor Control Circuits A or B. Once DTC-C0308 has been activated, all of the 4WD shifter will be inoperative and will cause the “SERVICE 4WD” light to turn on.
- How to access the diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
- Once there has been a DTC set, the vehicle will either set a “Service 4WD” light, or the lights on the 4×4 switch will fl ash and/or stay lit. To access the DTCs, you will need to hook up a vehicle diagnostic scanner utilizing the service port under the driver side portion
of the dash.
- Once there has been a DTC set, the vehicle will either set a “Service 4WD” light, or the lights on the 4×4 switch will fl ash and/or stay lit. To access the DTCs, you will need to hook up a vehicle diagnostic scanner utilizing the service port under the driver side portion
When to clear a DTC:
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) should only be erased once the voltage concern has been corrected, or the mechanical problem has been addressed.
How to clear a DTC:
- The Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) will clear the DTC once the initial problem has been fixed.
- A hard DTC will clear once the vehicle has run through one hundred (100) start cycles and detects no faults.
- To clear the DTC manually, you will need a vehicle diagnostic scanner (Scan tool). Once the DTC has been erased, go back into the vehicle system and verify that the DTC has been erased and that the system is performing properly.
Description:
DTC-C0310 will be set when the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) determines an open circuit in motor control A or B, or an open motor circuit.
What causes DTC-C0310:
DTC-C0310 will be set when the Transfer Case Control Module detects a variation in voltage going to both the Motor Control Circuit A and B. When the module is calling for a low voltage value and there is a high voltage return, DTC-C0310 will be activated, turning on the “Service 4WD” light and disabling the shifting feature of the transfer case motor.
How to access the diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
Once there has been a DTC set, the vehicle will either set a “Service 4WD” light, or the lights on the 4×4 switch will flash and/or stay lit. To access the DTCs, you will need to hook up a vehicle diagnostic scanner utilizing the service port under the driver side portion of the dash.
DTC-C0327 will be set when the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) receives both high and low voltage on the encoder channel circuits.
What causes DTC-C0310:
DTC-C0310 will set when the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) detects a variation in voltage from an encoder circuit. The encoder circuit is telling the TCCM what position (gear) the Transfer case is in. If the Transfer case is in a predetermined position (gear) and returns the incorrect value (voltage), the TCCM will set DTC-C0327. A faulty transfer case shift shaft can cause DTC-C0327. Be sure to check the lateral and vertical movement of the transfer case shift shaft.
How to access the diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
Once there has been a DTC set, the vehicle will either set a “Service 4WD” light, or the lights on the 4×4 switch will fl ash and/or stay lit. To access the DTCs, you will need to hook up a vehicle diagnostic scanner utilizing the service port under the driver side portion of the dash.
When to clear a DTC:
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) should only be erased once the voltage concern has been corrected, or the mechanical problem has been addressed.
How to clear a DTC:
- The Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) will clear the DTC once the initial problem has been fi xed.
