Operating and Safety Instructions
FOR INDOOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions, especially when children are present.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

WARNING – To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury and property damage please note the following:

  • To protect against fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquids.

  • Do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when not in use.

  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.

  • Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the Manufacturer.

  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.

  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

  • Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of
    the product to allow adequate air circulation.

  • Use appliance on a table or flat surface. Keep the product away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.

  • Do not operate the product empty. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

  • Do not operate the product if it has a damaged or cut Power Cord or plug, if wires are exposed, if it malfunctions, if it is dropped or damaged, or if the Motor Housing is dropped in or exposed to water.

  • This product has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair this product yourself.

  • Do not put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the product, as the power cord could fray and break.

  • Do not plug or unplug the product from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.

  • This product is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, household use; do not use the product outdoors or for any other purpose.

  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the bottom cover on the appliance.

  • This decanter is designed for use only with your Coffee Maker and should never be used on a range top stove, oven, or microwave of any kind.

  • Do not set a HOT decanter on a wet or cold surface

  • Do not use a cracked decanter or a decanter with a loose or weakened handle. Discard the decanter immediately if it is ever boiled dry.

  • Protect the decanter from sharp blows, scratches, or rough handling. Do not disassemble the carafe.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:

  • The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the product.
  • Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.
    WARNING: This product is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This is a safety feature. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

Before First Use

IMPORTANT: Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding as there may be accessory parts contained within the packaging material.

  1. Wash the Carafe, Filter Basket with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

  2. Replace parts onto the coffee maker and close the lid. Run a brew cycle with water only, filled up to the MAX line. Do not add coffee to coffee filter.
    Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating, it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It quickly goes away.

  3. When the brewing cycle is complete, turn your coffee maker off. Discard the water that has boiled and once it has cooled, rinse the decanter, lid, and filter basket.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

Parts:

Using Your Coffee Maker:

  1. Lift and open the filter basket lid. Place filter basket into coffee maker so that the arrow markers on the filter basket line up with the arrow on the coffee maker.
  2. Place a paper basket style filter or a permanent filter onto the removable filter basket. Do not use the permanent filter with a paper filter as water will not flow through the filter correctly. For best results, use a level tablespoon for ground coffee measurement. One comes with the appliance. Use Medium ground coffee for the perfect brew.
  3. Open water tank lid. Fill with desired amount of water. Check the water level indicator, do not fill past the “Max” line or water will overflow.
  4. Add the desired amount of coffee. Note: The amount of coffee brewed will always be slightly less than the amount of water poured in the water reservoir. This is due to absorption of water by the coffee grounds.
  5. Place the Glass Carafe is fully placed on the warming plate or the water and the grounds will overflow from the filter basket.

MANUAL BREWING:

  1. Press once to start the manual brew cycle. Heating indicator light will light up and brewing will begin.
    NOTE: Press again to cancel brewing.

  2. When the buzzer sounds twice, the brewing cycle is complete. The keep warm function will keep your coffee hot for a couple hours before automatically shutting off.
    NOTE: This coffee maker has a Pause and Serve feature that allows you to sneak a cup of coffee from the Glass Carafe. This usually allows you to remove the Glass Carafe for about 30 seconds.
    CAUTION: Wait 5 minutes between multiple brews to allow appliance to cool.

PROGRAM BREWING:

NOTE: Program (Pro) setting is only possible when clock time is set.

  1. Setting Clock:
    a) Press and hold “HR” button for 3 seconds. The screen will flash, then press “HR” again to set the Hour.
    b) Do the same for the “MIN” button to set the minute. Wait and allow the time to set.

  2. Setting Timer:
    a) Press “Pro” button once, then press the “HR” and “MIN” buttons to program the brew start time. Then press the “Pro” button or wait 3 seconds to save.
    NOTE: the program time will save if no button is pressed within 3 seconds. Then the clock time will display.
    b) Press “AUTO” to activate the program. The auto button will light up and the program start time will display for 2 seconds.

  3. The Program function and Clock time will be deleted when you unplug the coffee maker from the outlet.

Cleaning Your Coffee Maker:

WARNING: Always unplug the product and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing.
NOTICE: To avoid damaging the product, do not pour cold water into the Glass Carafe after use.

  • Do not immerse the coffee maker, or the power cord into water or any liquids
  • Remove the carafe, permanent filter, and filter basket. Wash in warm water with mild soap.
  • Do not place in dishwasher. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  • Clean the housing and keep warm place with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing or using again.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value. This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse.

We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty.
