Overview

Camera Placement Tips

**Important! Ensure the mounting surface can support at least 3 times your camera’s weight.
Location: Place your camera in a wide, open space. Avoid placing it near any obstructions.
Height: Install your camera at a height of 10 ft (3 m) above the ground.
Angle: Angle your camera outwards by 15°. Avoid angles greater than 30°.
Distance:** Place your camera within 22-65 ft (7-20 m) of points of interest.

Camera Mounting

Place the provided Mounting Template onto the desired location. Ensure an outlet is nearby, and keep in mind the cable length.
Using a drill, drill through all 3 mounting screw holes on the template.
Note: Drill a hole through the center of the template for your camera’s cable if you plan to run it through the mounting surface. If you are running the cable along a wall/ceiling, make sure to pass the cable through the cable notch.
Using a Phillips-head screwdriver and the provided Mounting Screws, secure the Mounting Bracket to the surface.
Optional: If you are mounting your camera into drywall, use the provided anchors.
Connect your camera’s cable to the Power Adapter and plug into a nearby outlet.
(Optional) Use the provided Cable Clips and Screws to neatly secure your camera’s cable to the wall.
Adjust the angle of your camera:
• Loosen the Camera Adjustment Screw to rotate your camera downwards and sideways, then tighten to secure it in place.
• Loosen the Mounting Bracket Adjustment Screw to rotate your camera and bracket clockwise or counterclockwise around the base, then tighten to secure it in place.
• Tip: For a sideways orientation of your camera you must rotate the mounting bracket by 90°, then rotate the camera by 90°, and then point your camera to the desired side.
Remove the vinyl film from the camera lens once your installation is complete.

How do I activate the smart motion detection features?

1. Open the Lorex app and tap above the camera’s thumbnail. 2. Tap Motion Detection Settings, and then to activate Motion Detection. 3. Tap Smart Detection Settings, and then to activate the type of smart motion detection you want to use.

How do I customize Motion Zones™?

1. Open the Lorex app and tap above the camera’s thumbnail. 2. Tap Motion Detection Settings, and then to activate Motion Detection. 3. Tap Motion Zones™, and then the type of smart motion detection you want to customize a motion detection area for.

How do I activate Deterrence Lights and/or Smart Security Lighting when smart motion is detected?

1. Open the Lorex app and tap above the camera’s thumbnail. 2. Tap Light Settings > Activate Light on Smart Motion. 3. Tap on the type of smart motion detection you are using, and then to activate either Deterrence Light and/ or Smart Security Lighting.

How do I turn Smart Security Lighting off?

1. Open the Lorex app and tap above the camera’s thumbnail. 2. Tap Light Settings > Smart Security Light Modes. 3. Tap to deselect the mode, and then Set.

Accuracy of Person, Vehicle, package, and Animal Detection will be influenced by multiple factors, such as the object’s distance from the camera, the size of the object, and the height and angle of the camera. Night vision will also impact the accuracy of detection.
With Person, Vehicle and/or Animal Detection activated, Package Detection can not be enabled. To operate Package Detection you must disable Person, Vehicle and Animal Detection.
Night vision typically switches between color and IR based on the amount of ambient light.
Stated IR illumination range is based on ideal conditions in typical outdoor nighttime ambient lighting (up to 32 ft or 10 m in total darkness). Actual range and image clarity depends on installation location, viewing area and light reflection/absorption.
