Step 1: Plug in the device
Plug the YNF Smart Home device into a wall outlet. Once plugged in, the LED on
the plug will flash, indicating that the plug has entered pairing mode.
Step 2: Discover the device with Alexa Echo
Open the Alexa app or use your Alexa Echo device and say “Alexa, discover the
device.” This command will prompt Alexa to search for the Smart Plug.
Step 3: Wait for discovery and confirmation
Wait for approximately a minute for Alexa Echo to discover the Smart Plug.
Once discovered, Echo will provide a voice notification saying “Found the
Plug.” If the Smart Plug is not discovered, you may need to reset the plug and
start from Step 1 again.
Resetting the Smart Plug:
If the Smart Plug is not entering pairing mode or being discovered by Alexa
Echo, follow these steps to reset the plug:
- Press and hold the button on the side of the plug for 5 seconds.
- Release the button once you see the blue LED flash.

To resolve most discovery issues with your Smart Plug, try these steps
- Check that your Alexa Echo has the latest software version.
- Make sure that your Echo is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
- Check that your paired plug is within 30 ft (9 m) of your Alexa Echo.
- Reset your Smart Plug: press and hold the button on the side of the plug for 5 seconds. Then set up the smart plug again.
My plug is not responding to vocal commands or showing as ‘unresponsive’ in the Alexa app. What can I do?
- First, refresh the page in the app that shows the plug.
