Product Usage Instructions

App Setup

1. Download the Lorex app.
2. Short press the reset button, and then wait for the audio prompts.
3. Tap the plus sign (+) on the app interface.

Battery Setup

1. Fully charge your Battery Doorbell before mounting. This could take up to 4-6 hours. A 5V 2A power adapter is recommended (not included).
2. Once fully charged, the status indicator will turn solid blue.

Optional Wired Setup

1. Turn off the breaker and verify power disconnection.
2. Connect to 8-24 VAC wiring. Use a transformer if the voltage is lower.
3. Remove the existing doorbell and disconnect the wiring carefully.
4. Bend power cables to prevent falling through the wall.

Optional Wedge Installation

• Align and place either the Horizontal or Vertical Wedges behind the Mounting Bracket for the desired angle direction.
• Flip the Wedge upside down to change the angle direction.

Mounting

1. Place the Mounting Bracket on the desired location with the arrow pointing in the desired direction. Mark the holes for screws.
2. Secure the Mounting Bracket to the surface using provided screws and a Phillips-head screwdriver.
3. For wired setup, connect the wires properly and push them back into the wall.
4. Press the doorbell into the Mounting Bracket until you hear a ‘click’.

Smart Security LED Indicator

• Insert the Release Pin and hold until you hear the audio prompt.

App Setup

1. Download the Lorex app.
2. Short press the reset button, and then wait for the audio prompts.
3. Tap .

Note

• If the status indicator does not start flashing blue, use the included USB power cable to power on your device, and then short press the reset button.
• Do not remove the USB power cable while connecting to the app.

Optional Wired Setup

Always be careful when handling electrical wiring. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, contact a licensed electrician.

1. Turn off the breaker and test that the power has been disconnected.
2. Connect to 8-24 VAC wiring. If lower, the transformer is required.
3. Remove your existing doorbell and disconnect the wiring.

Tip: Bend the power cables so they do not fall through the wall.

Optional Wedge Installation

• Align and place either one of the Horizontal or Vertical Wedges behind the Mounting Bracket and in the direction you want the doorbell to face.
• To change the direction of the angle, flip the Horizontal or Vertical Wedge upside down.

Mounting

• Place the Mounting Bracket on the desired location with the arrow pointing .
• Mark the holes for screws.
• Using a Phillips-head screwdriver and the provided screws, secure the Mounting Bracket to the surface.
• Optional: On drywall, use the provided 1/4” (6 mm) drill bit to drill holes where marked, then use the provided anchors and screws.
• For wired setup: Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the power terminal screws, and then thread them through the metal loops of the connecting wires. Then, re-tighten the screws.
• For wired setup: Align the ends of your existing wiring with the connecting wires, and then twist the wire caps over the exposed wiring.
• Optional: If your existing doorbell wiring is too short, use the provided Extension Wire instead.
• Push the wiring back into the wall with enough space to fit the wiring and wire caps.
• Press the doorbell into the Mounting Bracket until you hear a ‘click’.
• For wired setup: Restore power at the breaker.

Note

• The doorbell’s optimal operating temperatures are -4 °F to 122 °F / -20 °C to 50 °C.
• To remove your doorbell from the bracket, hold onto the doorbell, and then insert the Release Pin into the hole at the bottom of the Mounting Bracket until the release tab is reached.

FAQs

• Why is the battery doorbell not turning on?
• Make sure your doorbell is fully charged. See Battery Setup, page 5.

• Is the battery doorbell dual-band or single-band?
• This is a single-band 2.4GHz Wi-Fi battery doorbell.
• What is the battery life of the doorbell?
• Battery life is dependent on ambient temperature, motion settings, number of events, etc. The battery life can last between 2-4 months. The following are estimates of battery life based on daily events:
  • 25 events per day: approx. 2 months
  • 12 events per day: approx. 3.5 months
  • 6 events per day: approx. 7 months
• How do I activate the Deterrence Light and/or Smart Security LED when motion is detected?
  • Open the Lorex app and tap above the camera’s thumbnail.
  • Tap Light Settings, and then to enable Activate Deterrence Light on Detection. Tap Deterrence Light Mode to select a solid or flashing light, and then Light Brightness to adjust the brightness level.
  • Tap to enable Activate Status LED on Detection, and then LED Color to set a custom Smart Security LED colour.
• How do I enable a Quick Response?
  • Open the Lorex app and tap above the camera’s thumbnail.
  • Tap Quick Responses, and then select one of the pre-recorded messages to answer for you or tap + to create your own custom response.
  • Tap Quick Response Cycles to set how many times the response will repeat.
• How do I enable the Night Light Mode?
  • Open the Lorex app and tap above the camera’s thumbnail.
  • Tap Light Settings, and then to enable Night Light Mode. Tap Edit Schedule to set custom times for the night light to turn on and off.
