Safety Notes

• The product is intended for private, noncommercial use only.
• Use the product for its intended purpose only.
• Protect the product from dirt, moisture, and overheating and use it in dry rooms only.
• Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
• Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
• Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
• Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
• Make surethat cables do not pose a tripping hazard or block emergency exits.

Warning
Do not open the product. Do not continue to operate the product if it is damaged, which may be indicated by smoke, odours or loud noises. Contact your dealer or our service department immediately (see “Service and Support”).
Warning
Always keep the volume at a reasonable level. Loud volumes, even over short periods, can cause hearing loss.

Installation

• Close all programmes used for sound reproduction.

• Plug the USB sound card into a free USB port and wait until the operating system detects and activates the device.

• Your operating system might not automatically use the sound card as the default device. In this case, you must manually select „USB audio device“ or „Hama USB sound card7.1“ as a default device in the „Sounds and Audio Devices“ menu or „Sound“ menu (Vista) in the Control Panel.

• The sound card is now ready for operation. If you want to use „7.1 Virtual Surround Sound“ and other software functions, such as the equalizer, you must install the driver from the enclosed CD.

• Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive. The mask for the installation procedure opens automatically.
  

• Click „Finish“ to end the installation procedure and restart the computer.

• Click the „Hama“icon in the taskbar at the bottom-right of the screen to open the software menu.

Settings

1. Here you can select whether you connected headphones or loudspeakers to the sound card.
2. Here you can test the individual loudspeakers.

Mixer

• In this mask, you can mute or set the total volume control, the volume for individual audio signals, or the signal strength for the microphone. You can also change the balance between the right and left loudspeakers.
• If the signal strength of the microphone is not sufficient, although the microphone control is turned all the way up, then click on the hammer symbol next to the scale.

Check the box next to „ Microphone amplifier ” and click „ OK”.
Effective

In the „Effects “mask, you can choose from 27 various sound effects and 3different room sizes.
You also have an equalizer with 11 different presets.
Karaoke

Here you can adjust the tone as required and mute the voice.
