PETERMANN PM-3015 Magic Raising Aid

General Information

Thank you for choosing a Petermann product.
Please read the user manual carefully before using the product for the first time!
The current understanding in modern occupational health and safety is that people in nursing professions experience significant work-related physical strain. Back injuries are common. There are many situations in which a patient has to be transferred from a bed, a wheeled stretcher, ambulance stretcher, an X-Ray table or a wheelchair to a different stretcher or seat. The strain on the user and the patient / care-dependent can be reduced significantly through the use of Raising Aids.
The use of transfer aids should be conditional upon the user having learned to use the equipment properly. The user has to decide for themselves what equipment is suitable to the patient’s situation and the intended sequence of movements.
Raising Aids are part of a product range with a wide range of possible applications. This product is used in particular when raising and/or transferring patients in hospitals and other health care facilities as well as home care settings.
The product may only be used for the specified purpose and under the specified conditions.
The Raising Aids are safe transfer aids, which allow for transfers which are pleasant and comfortable for the patient as well as being simple and back- friendly for the user.
The information in this user manual is for the patient who is being transferred and moved, as well as the user performing the transfer / position change.
Contact us if you require additional information or assistance using the Petermann product.

  • Little muscle tone in the legs

Placement option A

The patient can keep their upper body stable on their own and has no high- friction materials underneath them

  • Placing the Leg Belt (also see the Leg Belt user manual)
  • Place the Raising Aid Magic behind the patient (Figure 1)
  • Place the flexible additional belt against the buttocks
  • Move it under the buttocks using the attached belt wings

Placement option B
The patient cannot keep their upper body stable on their own and/or has a high-friction material underneath them

  • Placing the Leg Belt (also see the leg belt user manual)
  • Place the Raising Aid Magic behind the patient (Figure 1)
  • Steady the upper body and tilt slightly to the side
  • Pull the belt under the buttocks with the free hand
  • Change sides
  • Repeat the process until the flexible belt is in the desired position

Transfer:

  • The height of the back piece can be adjusted as necessary.
