Support Belt
General Information
Thank you for choosing a Petermann product.
Please read the user manual carefully before using the product for the first
time!
The current understanding in modern occupational health and safety is that
people in nursing professions experience significant work-related physical
strain. Back injuries are common. There are many situations in which a patient
has to be transferred from a bed, a wheeled stretcher, ambulance stretcher,
an X-Ray table or a wheelchair to a different stretcher or seat. The strain on
the user and the patient / care-dependent can be reduced significantly through
the use of sliding mats.
The use of transfer aids should be conditional upon the user having learned to
use the equipment properly. The user has to decide for themselves what
equipment is suitable to the patient’s situation and the intended sequence of
movements.
The Support Belt is part of a product range with a wide range of possible
applications. This product is used in particular when raising and/or
transferring patients in home care and other health care facilities as well as
hospitals.
The product may only be used for the specified purpose and under the specified
conditions.
The Support Belts are a safe transfer aid, which allows for a transfer which
is pleasant and comfortable for the patient as well as being simple and back-
friendly for the users.
The information in this user manual is for the patient who is being
transferred and moved, as well as the user performing the transfer / position
change.
