PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
HDMI splitter is a product that can distribute HDMI signal losslessly to one or more devices high definition like TV. KARMA splitters from the “PRO” series feature HDCP support 2.2 and HDCP 1.4 They are also compatible with EDID control.

What is EDID?
- It is a flow of information that starts from the screen and arrives at the source device communicating the resolution supported. In this, the source device will be able to send its correct resolution to the screen.
- To operate correctly, everything between the screen and the source device must be EDID compatible (cables, splitters, extenders, matrices, etc.). The EDID data stream passes through pins 15 and 16 of the HDMI cables.
- Downscaler: The splitter considers the audio to be of lower quality and adapts the video signal to screens with resolution inferior. This means it can scale a 4K input to a 1080p monitor and still output in 4K on other compatible screens. If it is connected to only one screen the splitter reads the EDID of the screen and sends it the right signal without applying any downscaler. The downscaler only works when there are multiple screens connected with different resolutions. The downscaler function only supports 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 (HDR) signals 10) to 1080p signals.
