FEATURES
The product you have purchased includes a ball effect (4) and a wash + strobe effect (3) capable of producing a myriad of colourful rays, which will stand out if the fixture is used in combination with a smoke machine.
-
POSITIONING
This light effect can be placed on a surface or hung stands by means of the bracket (1 ). Use the knobs on (2) to lock it with the correct tilting. To better fasten the fixture you can use a safety cable, which can be fixed on the ring (6).
On the back it features a cooling fan (1 OJ. Take care that it is not covered or obstructed and keep it clean, removing dust, so that it can work properly. -
OPERATION
To turn on the fixture connect the cable to the back socket [BJ and then insert the plug into an electrical power outlet.
If the fixture doesn’t turn on, disconnect the power cable, extract the fuse (9) and check if it is good. If it is blown replace it with one of the same rating. The light effect can operate in auto mode.sound activated mode [thanks to the built-in microphone], manual mode [by means of the included remote control) or connected to a professional OMX 512 system. -
If you mean to connect it to a OMX system with an external controller, you have to connect the input XLR cable to the OMX IN (11) socket and the output XLR cable to the socket OMX OUT [7).ln this way the OMX signal will be transmitted from a fixture to another. On next page you will find some basic instructions on OMX operating mode.
If no controller is connected, it is possible to arrange a cascade connection of several fixtures, so that they perform the same effect. The first unit will operate as a master and the others will be slave [on the units you have to set the address d001 ).
DISPLAY CONTROLS
Under the display (5) there are 4 buttons allowing to select an option from the menu, change its value and confirm the choice. -
The 4 buttons are:
- Menu : It lists the menu main options.
- UP: To skip to the next option or value
- DOWN: To skip to the previous option or value ENTER: To confirm your choice
The below diagram indicates the menu options and the corresponding functions.
INTRODUCTION TO OMX CONNECTION
- In a OMX 512 connection there are 512 available channels. Each OMX fixture uses one or more channels to manage its functions. The user must assign a starting address to each OMX fixture connected to the system. This address will indicate the first channel used by the controller. You have to plan the starting address choice in orderto avoid the channels’ overlapping. Otherwise the fixture wouldn’t work correctly.
- Example: If you need to connect 3 OMX fixtures, each with 1 D channels, the first unit is to be set on address 1, the second unit on address 11 and the third one on address 21. Anyway you can set the same starting address on more devices if you wish themto operate in synchrony. OMX devices are conceived to receive data through a serial Daisy Chain connection. With this kind of connection the data output of a fixture is connected to the data input of the following one. The connection order of the devices is not important and it doesn’t affect on how the controller interacts with each of them. We suggest to put them in the easiest and most direct sequence for cable connection. The signal cable length should not be more than 1 DD m to avoid interferences with other signals or electric devices. To set the address you want to assign to the fixture [from 001 to 512), press the MENU key until the display shows the symbol “d”. Then, by means of the UP and DOWN keys, set the address and confirm with ENTER.
- To operate correctly with OMX systems it is necessary to know the number of channels available on each connected fixture and the function of these channels.
- This fixture operates with 12 channels.
- The below chart shows the functions related to each channel in OMX mode.
- Before using the fixture it would be advisable to take a specific course on OMX systems for full understanding of its potential and functions.
