MULTIMEDIA RADIO

FEATURES

  • 3-band, AM-FM-SW radio
  • sensitive radio reception
  • high volume, easy handling
  • compact, robust, portable design
  • can be operated from electrical network or battery
  • earphones or headphones can be connected (option)
  • headphone socket: ∅3.5mm
  • power supply: mains connection cable (included) or 2xD/LR20 batteries (not included) or DC 5V external power supply (not included)

POWER SUPPLY
The device has three power supply options. Plug the mains connection cable into the socket on the back and then the other end into the mains. In addition, you can operate it from 2xD (LR20/1.5V) batteries (not included) or from an external 5V DC power supply, e.g. from a „power bank” (not included).

  • Place the 2xD/LR20 alkaline (durable) batteries in the battery holder according to the polarity marked there.
  • Plugging the mains plug into the device disconnects the inserted batteries. When using batteries, you must first unplug the connection cable.
  • If you use it from the mains, do not store the batteries in it!
  • If you do not use it for a long time, unplug it from the mains!
  • When connecting a „Power bank”, a USB cable with a DC plug (5.5×2.1mm) has to be purchased.
  • Low batteries may indicate decreasing volume or distorted sound. Remove them immediately!
  • Do not use batteries of different types or condition! The battery can only be changed by an adult!
  • If liquid has leaked out, wear protective gloves and clean the battery holder with a dry cloth!
  • The batteries must not be opened, thrown into fire or short-circuited! Do not charge non-chargeable batteries! Danger of explosion!

STARTUP

Use the VOLUME knob to turn on the radio and set the desired volume. When you are done using the radio, you can turn it off with the same button by turning it until it clicks.

  • The maximum volume that can be adjusted is the one that can still be heard without distortion. Its size may vary depending on the current radio station and the quality of the reception.

USING THE RADIO
Select the desired waveband with the FM-AM-SW slide switch. The best sound quality is provided by the FM band. If you are listening to this (or the SW band), carefully pull out the antenna and rotate it around to adjust for best reception. When listening to the AM band, an internal antenna works. In this case, do not pull out the FM antenna, but turn the device to the best reception position.

  • The reception capability of the radio depends to a large extent on the place of use and the current reception conditions.
  • To improve the efficiency of the built-in antenna, place the device so that you get the best radio reception! Nearby electrical equipment and larger metal objects can interfere with reception.
  • Be careful not to break the extendable antenna!

EARPHONE CONNECTOR

You can connect your headphones with a 3.5mm plug to the socket on the right. The speaker will then turn off. This device is suitable for mono reception, but you can also connect stereo earphones or headphones. Both of its speakers (L+R) will work.

CLEANING

Disconnect the device from the power supply by pulling out the plug before cleaning. Clean the plastic casing of the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not scratch the shiny surface by wiping vigorously! Do not use aggressive cleaning agents and liquids! Wipe off stubborn dirt with a cloth slightly moistened with water.

MAINTENANCE

Check the integrity of the mains connection cable and the cover before each use. In the event of any abnormality, disconnect the power supply immediately and contact a specialist!

TROUBLESHOOTING

If an error is detected, switch off the device and unplug it from the mains. Try turning it back on later. If the problem persists, review the following list. This guide can help you narrow down the error if the device is otherwise connected as specified. If necessary, consult a specialist!
The device does not work.

  • The radio is not switched on.
    – Check the position of the VOLUME rotary switch.

  • The network cable is not connected properly.
    – Check if the connection cable is correctly inserted into the device and into the mains socket.

The volume decreases, the sound quality deteriorates.

  • Decreasing supply voltage affects operation.
    – Replace the batteries!

The reception is weak and noisy.

  • Due to its characteristics, AM reception is suitable for listening to radio stations further away, but the sound quality is poorer. On the FM band, better quality but closer transmitters can be received.
    – Check which band the station you want to listen to is broadcasting on. If possible, it is recommended to use the FM band.

  • The length of the antenna is not sufficient.
    – Fully extend the antenna and find the best position. In case of AM band, do not pull out the telescopic antenna and turn the radio in the right direction.

  • The purchasing conditions are bad. You are in an area or environment that has poor coverage.
    – Choose another radio station or another waveband that can be received in better quality. Keep in mind that nearby electrical equipment or larger metal objects can interfere with reception.
