Installation Diagram
Refer to the following installation diagram for setting up the AM2CAM:
Step 1 – Camera Connection
Connect the Camera 2 (CAM2) to the AM2CAM device using the provided harness
or an ignition-powered camera. Follow these steps:
- Connect the R Camera Out cable from the AM2CAM to the Camera In port.
- Connect the Camera Ground cable to the respective ground terminal on both the AM2CAM and the camera.
- Connect the R Camera 12V+ cable from the AM2CAM to the camera’s power supply.
Step 2 – Audio-Video Connection
Connect the AM2CAM to your audio-video system using the provided 18-pin
lead. Follow these steps:
- Insert one end of the 18-pin lead into the corresponding port on the AM2CAM.
- Connect the other end of the lead to your audio-video system.
AM2CAM INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
If your factory (or aftermarket) reverse camera is powered on the ignition and
you would like to use the second camera input on your AM9X/AM10X then you will
require an AM2CAM Input Switch Harness. The AM2CAM will only be required if
you would like to add a second camera to the vehicle. This is only applicable
to AM9X/10X units with the two-camera input support. You can check if your
head unit supports this by checking if you have two icons for Camera R and
Camera 2 on the home screen of the head unit.
To correctly utilize dual cameras for this head unit, connections to the
AM2CAM are as follows:
- Factory Camera Retention RCA to R Camera In RCA on AM2CAM
- AM2CAM Camera Ground Cable (Black) to Camera Ground (Black) on 18 Pin Audio-Video Lead
- AM2CAM R Camera 12V+ (Red) to R Camera 12V+ (Red) on 18 Pin Audio-Video Lead
- AM2CAM Power 3.3v (Yellow) to RX on Audio-Video Lead (White)
- Second Camera 12V+ connected to Camera 2 12V+ (Yellow) on 18 Pin Audio-Video Lead
- Second Camera RCA connected to CAM2 RCA on 18 Pin Audio-Video Lead
