LAMP INSTALLATION / REPLACEMENT:
- Remove the front plate by unscrewing and removing the 2 x brass screws.
- Insert 2 x G4 lamps (push action).
- Replace the front plate and secure in place with the 2 x brass screws removed, ensuring the foam seal is in place behind the face plate. Do not overtighten screws as this can cause the face plate to dent.
IMPORTANT: Condensation may occur due to the warmth inside the fitting produced by the lamp and the cold air outside. If this is noticed, on a dry day, turn off the power supply, safely remove the front plate and wipe dry with a soft cloth. A silica gel pouch can be left inside the fitting to soak up any excess moisture if required. Full product range & more information: www.exteriorlights.co.uk
INSTALLATION:
- Remove the front plate by unscrewing and removing the 2 x brass screws – do not remove screws from front plate.
- Ensure the glass lend and foam seal is in place and the screws are held in place with the rubber washers on the underside of the face plat.
- Select the installation location, ensuring there is a sufficient amount of room for the fitting, cable at the back of the light and any junction boxes / transformers.
- Continue below based on your selected installation method.
WIRING / CONNECTION:
IMPORTANT: 240v – 12v Transformer Required (sold separately)
- Connect the fitting to the transformer / extension cable via a waterproof Junction Box or Tubacin Connector (multiple fittings can be powered by one transformer with correct wattage (no. bulbs x bulbs W = transformer wattage required).
- Ensure all terminals on the connector block are secure with no stray wires and that the connection is watertight.
- Connect the transformer to the mains supply (plug in or hard wire options) – 240v input cable must be located inside armored conduit.
- Once fully installed, turn on the mains power.
NOTES:
- To avoid damage to cable after installation, ensure all cabling is positioned carefully around the edges of the garden, in conduit or similar, or hooked up on fences etc.
- It is recommended that the number of fittings on each circuit are kept to a minimum, fittings are positioned as evenly as possible around a circuit and each run kept as short as possible to prevent voltage drop. For longer cable runs. Thicker cable (1.5mm or 2.5mm) may be required.
- Ensure the transformer has plenty of air circulation to avoid overheating.
Mounting Box dimensions approx. (L)210 x (H) 56 x (D) 65mm, includes side
brackets and cable protrusion.
Brick Replacement – NEW WALL
TESTING OF FITTINGS & BULBS IS RECOMMENDED PRIOR TO PERMANENT INSTALLATION
- Build the brass mounting box directly into the brick wall. IMPORTANT: the brass box must protrude from the wall by approx. 2-3mm to cater for overlap of faceplate and create waterproof seal. NOTE: a wooden frame can also be used to support the fitting if the brick is a different size – attach mounting box to the frame via the 2 x screw holes on the edge of the brass back box – height of brackets can be adjusted slightly on each side if required).
- Install 2 x G4 lamps (see lamp installation).
- Replace the front plate and secure in place with the 2 x brass screws removed initially, ensuring the rubber washers and foam seal are correctly in place behind the face plate. Do not overtighten.
Recess into flat surface (cut out)
- Cut out the hole for the mounting box (masonry, decking etc). See above for mounting box & fixing point dimensions.
- Hold the brass mounting box in position and mark the 2 x screw holes on either side of the box. The height of these brackets can be adjusted slightly, if required, by loosening the two screws holding them in place.
- Remove the mounting box. For masonry installation, drill and install wall plugs. For wood installations, pilot hole can be drilled if required. M4 screws recommended.
- Secure the mounting box in place with relevant screws at the fixing points, as per above. height of brackets can be adjusted slightly on each side if required.
- Install 2 x G9 lamps.
- Replace the front plate and secure in place with the 2 x brass screws removed initially, ensuring the foam seal is in place behind the face plate. Do not overtighten.
