COMPONENTS

OVERVIEW

pairing mode.
Microphone| Captures sound for recorded footage.
Speaker| Plays sound from the app.
microSD card slot| Supports local SD card storage (max. 128GB).
Reset button| To reset the device to factory settings, press and hold the reset button for several seconds until the camera starts to beep and the indicator flashes rapidly.

INSTALLATION

1. Stick one side of the provided adhesive tape to the middle of the camera base.
2. Prepare the intended installation surface, ensuring it is clean and dry.
3. Peel the other side of the adhesive tape, and firmly press the camera onto the surface.
4. Insert the micro USB end of the USB to micro USB cable into the camera and connect the USB end into the power adapter. Then, insert the power adapter into an electrical socket.

Note:
If you are installing the ccmera upside down, you will need to flip the camera in the app settings.

ONNECT TO SMARTERHOME™ APP

Install app
Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

Toregister:

1. If you already have a SmarterHome account, select ‘Log In’. To register a new account, select ‘Sign Up’.
2. The system will automatically recognise your country. If needed, you can manually select your country from the drop-down box. Enter your email address and tap ‘Get Verification Code’ to continue.
3. A 6-digit code will be sent to the submitted email address. Enter this code before the one-minute timer expires.
4. Continue to the next page and complete your SmarterHome profile.

Set device in pairing mode
When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (the indicator will be flashing rapidly).
If not automatically in pairing mode when powered on, you can manually set the device to pairing mode by pressing the reset button for several seconds until the camera beeps and the indicator flashes rapidly.

Add device through network

1. Once registered, tap “Add Device” on the app’s home page, or the “+” in the upper right corner, to add a new device through the network.
2. Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Home Security > Cameras).
3. Ensure that the device is in pairing mode with the indicator flashing rapidly and tap “Next”.
4. Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.

Notes:

• The device and the app must use the same Wi-Fi network.
•  The device is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks.
•  Nepending on the product, Steps 3 and 4 may he in apposite arder.

1. Calibrate the smart camera by holding your smartphone 15-20cm away from the camera lens until it successfully scans the QR code shown on the following screen of the setup. The device will make a prompt sound to confirm, click “| heard a prompt” to proceed to the next screen.
2.  The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept closeuntil connection is complete.
3. After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page.

Note:
Once connected, you can select Create Scene from the “ + ” in the upper right corner (or from the Scene tab) to group connected SmarterHome™ products and automate their functions.

GOOGLE HOME CONTROL

Adding “SmarterHome” to the Google Home app

1. From the home page of the Google Home app, select the “+” icon (top left corner, see arrow in the below screenshot) to access the ‘Add and manage’ page.

2.  Select ‘Set up device’, then select the ‘Works with Google’ option.
   

3. Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ service.

4. From here. you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you usedto register your account.

5. Select “Kogan SmarterHome™” from the app options.
   

6. Tap ‘Authorise” to grant Google permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.

7. Once connected. the app will display any compatible devices linked to your SimarterHome™ account. From here you can assign therm to rooms and set up any routines. Tap on any of the devices to view a list of available commands.

Note:
Please note that Google Home can only control the base/core functions of any compatible SmarterHome™ devices. To make full use of this product’s smart functionality, please use the Kogan SmarterHome™ app.

AMAZON ALEXA CONTROL

Notes:
You will need to have set up an Alexa account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome™ device.

Adding “SmarterHome” to the Alexa app

1. From the home page of the Alexa app, select the “ ” icon in the bottom-right and select “Skills & Games” from the sidebar.

2.  Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill.
   

3. Tap ‘Enable to Use’ to add the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill to Alexa.

4. From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number. depending on which method you used to register your account.

5. Select “Kogan SmarterHome™” from the app options.
   

6. Tap Authorise’ to grant Alexa permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.

7. Once connected. the app will perform a search and display the devices linked to your SrmarterHome™ account. When your devices have successfully connected to the Alexa app, you will be able to control your Kogan SmarterHome™ devices via Alexa’s voice commands.
   

Note:
Please note that Alexa can only control the base/core functions of any compatible SmarterHome™ devices. To make full use of this product’s smart functionality, please use the Kogan SmarterHome™ app.

FUNCTIONS

•Footage may be recorded continuously or when movement is detected.
Gallery| View videos and photos.
Theme Colour| Change the appearance of the app.
Private Mode| The camera will be off by default until it is viewed in the app.
Night Mode| •Capture footage in the dark.
•Can be set to on or auto.
Anti Flicker Mode| Clearly capture footage when there are rapidly flashing lights or fast-moving objects.
Device Volume| Adjust the camera volume.
Motion Detection| Send a notification to your smartphone when movement is detected.
Sound Detection| Send a notification to your smartphone when sound is detected.
Schedule for Detection| Set a time for motion and sound detection to be switched on or off.
Two Way Communication| Communicate through the camera from the app and hear what the camera is recording or if someone is speaking to the camera.

Note:
It is recommended that the device be installed at a height below 2M.

TROUBLESHOOTING

correctly.
•Ensure the device is in close proximity to the router.
•Ensure the camera is connected to the some network as your smortphone, and that it is o 2.4Ghz network.
•Double check that you have read through the instructions correctly and that the indicator is flashing rapidly before attempting to pair.
•If this does not work, reset the device and attempt again.
The device is still appearing in the SmarterHomeT” app after resetting it.| •Resetting the device only initialises the network configuration of the camera, but does not change the configuration of the app.
•To stop the device from appearing in the app, you must also remove the device in the app.
How do I change the network my device is connected to?| 1.Remove the device from the app.
2.Reset the device manually.
3.’air the device with a new network or device.
The device isn’t identifying the microSD card.| •Turn the power off before inserting the microSD cord.
•Check that the microSD card is inserted correctly and ensure the format is FAT32.
•Ensure your network connection is stable.
Push notifications
are not appearing.| •Confirm that the relevant reminder function is enabled in the app settings.
•Ensure push notifications and app permissions are erobled on your smortphone.
Can I give family and friends access to this device?| •Yes, you can give another user permission to access your devices if they have downloaded the app and have a registered account.
•To give or revoke permissions, go to Me > Home Management on the app.
How many devices can I control from the app•| •You can control an unlimited number of devices in an unlimited number of locations from the app.
•Your router may have a limit of how many devices can be connected to it.
My device won’t ‘connect to the same network as theapp.| • Ensure the device is in pairing mode (indicator is flashing rapidly).
• Ensure the Wi-Fi connection is stable.
• Ensure the device is in close proximity to the router. The range of your Wi- Fi is dependent on the layout of your house. Check with your router specifications for exact range data.
• Ensure the Wi-Fi password you entered is correct.

My device is offline inthe app.| • Ensure the device is powered on.
• Ensure the Wi-Fi connection Is stable and the Wi-Fi network or password have not changed. If they have, pair
the device again.
• Checkif there are too many devices connected to your router.
