PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY

Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open since this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to break or tamper with the safety interlocks.

Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
WARNING: If the door or door seals are damaged, the oven must not be operated until it has been repaired by a competent person. -
If the microwave is not properly maintained and kept in a good state of cleanliness, its surface may degrade affecting the lifespan of the appliance and lead to a dangerous situation.
Basic safety precautions
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. READ CAREFULLY AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
- The microwave oven is intended for the heating of food and beverages. Drying of food or clothing or the heating of warming pads, slippers, sponges, damp cloth or similar may lead to risk of injury, ignition or fire.
- The oven must not be operated with the door open.
- Liquids and other foods must NOT be heated in sealed containers as they are liable to explode.
- It is hazardous for anyone other than a Kogan technician to carry out repairs that involve the removal of the cover, which gives protection against microwave energy.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge only if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the product in a safe way and been given an understanding of the dangers involved.
- Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are older than 8 years old and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children.
- Only use utensils suitable for use in microwave ovens.
- The oven should be cleaned regularly and any food deposits should be removed.
- When heating food in plastic or paper containers, keep an eye on the oven due to the possibility of ignition.
- If smoke is emitted, switch off or unplug the unit and keep the door closed in order to stifle any flames.
- Do not overcook food.
- Do not use the oven cavity for storage purposes. Do not store items such as bread, cookies etc… inside the oven.
- Remove wire twist-ties and metal handles from paper or plastic containers/bags before placing them in the oven.
- Install this oven in accordance with the instructions outlined in this user guide.
- Eggs in the shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should not be heated in microwave ovens as they may explode, even after the microwave heating has ended.
- This appliance is intended for use in households or similar situations such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices or other working environments
- by clients in hotels, motels or other residential type environments farmhouses
- bed and breakfast type environments

- Do not store or use this appliance outdoors.
- Do not use this oven near water, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool.
- The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating. The surfaces are liable to get hot during use. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces and do not cover any vents on the oven.
- Do not let the cord hang down over the edge of the table or counter.
- Failure to maintain the oven in a state of cleanliness may lead to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and/or possibly result in a hazardous situation.
- The contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars should be stirred or shaken, then the temperature checked before consumption in order to avoid burns.
- The microwave heating of beverages can result in delayed eruptive boiling. therefore, care must be taken when handling the container.
- The microwave oven is not designed to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Accessible parts may become hot during use. Young children should be kept away from the cooking area while in use.
- Steam cleaners must not be used.
Cleaning
- Be sure to unplug the unit from the power supply before cleaning.
- The door frame, door seal and neighboring parts should be cleaned carefully with a damp cloth when dirty.
- For easier cleaning, place half a lemon in a bowl, add 300ml of water and heat on 100% microwave power for 10 minutes. Then wipe the internal walls, floor and roof of the oven using a dry, soft cloth
- Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the oven door glass since they can scratch the surface, which may result in shattering of the glass.
- Clean the accessories using soapy water.
Disposal
This marking indicates that this appliance should not be disposed with other
household wastes. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health
from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the
sustainable reuse of material resources.

INSTALLATION
Turntable Installation
- Never place the glass tray upside down. The glass tray should never be restricted.
- Both glass tray and turntable ring assembly must be used during cooking.
- All food and containers of food should be placed on the glass tray for cooking.
- If the glass tray or turntable ring assembly cracks or breaks, contact the help.Kogan.com for support.
Countertop Installation
Remove all packing material and accessories. Examine the oven for any damage
such as dents or broken door. Do not install if oven is damaged.
Cabinet: Remove any protective film found on the microwave oven cabinet
surface. Do not remove the light brown Mica cover that is attached to the oven
cavity to protect the magnetron.
Installation
-
Select a level surface that provide enough open space for the intake and/or outlet vents.
• The minimum installation height is 85cm.
• The rear surface of appliance shall be placed against a wall. Leave a minimum clearance of 30cm above the oven, a minimum clearance of 20cm is required between the oven and any adjacent walls.
• Do not remove the legs from the bottom of the oven.
• Blocking the intake and/ or outlet openings can damage the oven.
• Place the oven as far away from radios and TV as possible. Operation of microwave oven may cause interference to your radio or TV reception. -
Plug your oven into an electrical outlet. Be sure the voltage and the frequency are the same as the voltage and the frequency on the rating label.
WARNING: Do not install oven over a range cooktop or other heat producing
appliances. If installed near or over a heat source, the oven could be
damaged.
The accessible surface may be hot during operation
UTENSILS
See the list below of “Materials you can use in a microwave oven” and “Materials to be avoid in a microwave oven”. There may be certain non-metallic utensils that are not safe for microwaving. If in doubt, you can test the utensil in question following the procedure below.
Utensil Test
- Fill a microwave-safe container with 1 cup of cold water (250ml), along with the utensil in question.
- Cook on maximum power for 1 minute.
- Carefully feel the utensil. If the empty utensil is warm, do not use it for microwave cooking.
Never exceed 1-minute cooking time when doing a utensil test.
Materials you can use in a microwave oven

Dinnerware| Check that the dinnerware is microwave-safe only. Do not use

Glass jars| Always remove the lid. Use only to heat food until it is just
warm. Most glass jars are not heat resistant and they may break.
Glassware| Heat-resistant oven glassware only. Make sure there is no metallic

Oven cooking bags| Follow manufacturer’s instructions. Do not close with a
metal tie. Make slits to allow steam to escape.
Paper plates and cups| Use for short-term cooking and warming only. Do not
leave oven unattended while cooking.
Paper towels| Use to cover food for reheating and absorbing fat. Do not leave
oven unattended while cooking.

Clock Setting
- Press “CLOCK”, “00:00” will display.
- Press the number keys and enter the current time. For example, time is 12:10 now, please press “1,2,1,0” in turn.
- Press “CLOCK” to finish clock setting. “:” will flash and the clock will illuminate.
- If the numbers inputted are not within the range of 1:00–12:59, the setting will be invalid until valid numbers are entered.
Note:
- In the process of clock setting, if the “STOP/CANCEL” button is pressed or if there is no operation within 1 minute, the oven will go back to the former setting automatically.
- If the clock needs to be reset, please repeat step 1 to step 3.
Kitchen Timer
- Press “KITCHEN TIMER”, the screen will display 00:00, the first hour figure flash.
- Press the number keys and enter the timer time. (The maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds)
- Press “START/+30SEC” to confirm setting.
- When the timer time arrives, the buzzer will ring 5 times. The screen will display the current time.
Notes:
- The kitchen time is differed from 12-hour system, Kitchen Timer is a timer.
- During kitchen timer, any program cannot be set.
Microwave Cook
- Press “TIME COOK” once, the screen will display “00:00”.
- Press number keys to input the cooking time; the maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.
- Press “POWER” once, the screen will display “PL10”. The default power is 100% power. Now you can press number keys to adjust the power level.
- Press “START/+30SEC.” to start cooking.
Example: to cook the food with 50% microwave power for 15 minutes.
- Press “TIME COOK” once. “00:00” displays.
- Press “1”, ”5”, “0”, “0” in order.
- Press “POWER” once, then press “5” to select 50% microwave power.
- Press “START/+30SEC.” to start cooking.
Note:
- In the process of setting, if the “STOP/CANCEL” button is pressed or if there is no operation within 1 minute, the oven will go back to the former setting automatically.
- If “PL0” selected, the oven will work with fan for no power.
- During microwave cooking, “POWER” can be pressed to change the power you need. After pressing “POWER”, the current power flash for 3 seconds, now you can press number button to change the power. The oven will work with the selected power for the rest time.
Speedy Cooking

In waiting state, instant cooking at 100% power level can be started by select a cooking time from 1 to 6 minutes by pressing numbers 1 to 6. Press “START/+30SEC.” to increase the cooking time; the maximum cooking time is 99
minutes and 99 seconds. -
In waiting state, instant cooking at 100% power level with 30 seconds’ cooking time can be started by pressing “START/+30SEC.” Each press on the same button will increase cooking time by 30 seconds. the maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.
Notes: During microwave cooking and time defrost, time can be added by pressing “START/+30SEC” button.
Weight Defrost Function
- Press “WEIGHT DEFROST”, the screen will display “dEF1”.
- Press numerical buttons to input weight to be defrosted. Input the weight ranged between 100~2000g.
- If the weight input is not within 100~2000 g, the input will be invalid.
- Press “START/+30SEC.” to start defrosting and the cooking time remained will be displayed.
Time Defrost Function
- Press “TIME DEFROST”, the screen will display “dEF2”.
- Press number pads to input defrosting time. The effective time range is 00:01~99:99.
- The default microwave power is power level 3. If you want to change the power level, press “POWER” once and the screen will display “PL 3”, then press the number pad of the power level you wanted.
- Press “START/+30SEC” to start defrosting. The remained cooking time will be displayed.
Popcorn
- Press “POPCORN” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “50”, “100” g will display in order.
- For example, press “POPCORN” once, “50” appears.
- Press “START/+30 SEC.” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finish, buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to waiting state.
Important Information About Microwave Popcorn Feature:
When selecting 100g of popcorn, it is suggested that you fold down a triangle on each corner of the bag before cooking. If/When the popcorn bag expands and no longer rotates properly, please press STOP/CANCEL button once and open the oven door and adjust the bag position to ensure even cooking. Potato

Press “POTATO” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “1”, “2”, “3” will display in order.
“1” SET: 1 potato (approximate 230 gram)
“2” SETS: 2 potatoes (approximate 460 gram)
“3” SETS: 3 potatoes (approximate 690 gram)
For example, press “POTATO” once, “1” appears. -
Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finish, buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to waiting state.
Frozen Vegetable
- Press “FROZEN VEGETABLE” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “150”, “350”, “500” g will display in order. For example, press “FROZEN VEGETABLE” once, “150” appears.
- Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finish, buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to waiting state.
Beverage
- Press “BEVERAGE” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display, “1”, “2”, “3” cup will display in order. One cup is about 120ml. For example, press “BEVERAGE” once, “1” appears.
- Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finish, buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to waiting state.
Dinner Plate
a) Press “DINNER PLATE” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the
display, “250”, “350”, “500” g will display in order.
For example, press “DINNER PLATE” once, “250” appears.
b) Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finish,
buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to waiting state.
Pizza
a) Press “PIZZA” repeatedly until the number you wish appears in the display,
“100”, “200”, “400” g will display in order.
For example, press “PIZZA” once, “100” appears.
b) Press “START/+30 SEC” to cook, buzzer sounds once. When cooking finish,
buzzer sounds five times and then turn back to waiting state.
Memory Function
- Press “0/MEMORY” to choose memory 1-3 procedure. They will display 1,2,3.
- If the procedure has been set, press “START/ +30 SEC.” to use it. If not, continue to set the procedure. Only one or two stages can be set.
- After finishing the setting, press “START/ +30 SEC.” once to save the procedure and turn back to the waiting states. If press “START/ +30 SEC.” again, it will start cooking.
Example: to set the following procedure as the second memory, that is
memory 2. to cook the food with 80% microwave power for 3minutes and 20
seconds.
The steps are as follow:
- In waiting states, press “0/MEMORY” twice, stop pressing until the screen displays “2”.
- Press “TIME COOK” once, then press “3”, “2”, “0” in order.
- Press “POWER” once, “PL10” display, then press “8” and “PL8” displays.
- Press “START/ +30 SEC” to save the setting. Buzzer sounds once then turn back to waiting states. If you press “START/+30SEC” twice after step 3, the procedure will be saved as the memory 2 and operated.
- If the electricity is not cut off, the procedure will be saved all the time. If it is, the procedure needs to reset.
- If you want to run the saved procedure, in waiting states, press “0/MEMORY” twice, screen displays “2”, then press “START/+30SEC” to run.
Multi-stage Cooking
At most 2 stages can be set for cooking. In multi-stage cooking, if one stage
is defrosting, then defrosting shall be placed at the first stage
automatically.
Notes: Auto cooking cannot work in the multi-stage cooking.
Example: if you want to cook with 80% microwave power for 5 minutes + 60%
microwave power for 10 minutes. The cooking steps are as following:
- Press “ TIME COOK ” once, then press “5”, “0”, “0” to set the cooking time.
- Press “POWER” once, then press “8” to select 80% microwave power.
- Press “TIME COOK ” once, then press “1”, “0”, “0”, “0” to set the cooking time.
- Press “POWER” once, then press “6” to select 60% microwave power.
- Press “START/ +30 SEC” to start cooking.
Inquiring Function
- In cooking state, press “CLOCK”, the screen will display clock for three seconds.
- In the microwave cooking state, press “POWER” to inquire microwave power level and the current microwave power will be displayed. After three seconds, the oven will turn back to the previous state. In multi-stage state, the inquiring way can be done by the same way as above.
Child Lock
Lock: In waiting state, press “STOP/CANCEL” for 3 seconds, there will be a
long “beep” denoting the entering the children-lock state; meanwhile, screen
will display “ ”
Unlock: In locked state, press “STOP/CANCEL” for 3 seconds, there will be a
long “beep” denoting that lock is released.
Cooking End Reminding Function
When the cooking is over, the buzzer will sound 5 “beeps” to alert user the
cooking is finished.
Other Specifications
- In standby state, if the set clock digital tube displays current time, the icon “:” would flash; otherwise, it shows “0:00”.
- In setting function state, the screen displays corresponding setting.
- In working or pause state, the screen displays surplus cooking time.
CLEANING & CARE
- Turn off the microwave and remove the power plug from the wall socket before cleaning.
- Keep the inside of the microwave clean. When food splatters or spilled liquids adhere to microwave walls, wipe with a damp cloth. Mild detergent may be used if the microwave gets very dirty. Avoid the use of spray and other harsh cleaners as they may stain, streak or dull the door surface.
- The outside surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts inside the microwave, ensure water does not seep into the ventilation openings.
- Wipe both sides of the door and window, the door seals and adjacent parts frequently with a damp cloth to remove any spills or spatters. Do not use an abrasive cleaner.
- Do not allow the control panel to become wet. Clean with a soft, damp cloth. When cleaning the control panel, leave microwave open to prevent microwave from accidentally turning on.
- If steam accumulated inside or around the outside of the microwave door, wipe with a soft cloth. This may occur when the microwave is operated under a high humidity condition and it is normal.
- It is occasionally necessary to remove the glass tray for cleaning. Wash the tray in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher.
- The roller ring and microwave floor should be cleaned regularly to avoid excessive noise. Simply wipe the bottom surface of the microwave with mild detergent. The roller ring may be washed in mild soapy water or the dishwasher. When removing the roller ring from the floor cavity for cleaning, be sure to replace it in the proper position.
- Remove odors from your microwave by combining a cup of water with the juice and skin of one lemon in a deep, microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 5 minutes. Wipe thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
- The microwave should be cleaned regularly and any food deposits removed. Failure to maintain the microwave in a clean condition could lead to deterioration of the surface that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation. Health may also be adversely affected.
- Regularly clean the liquid in the groove at the bottom of the cavity to prevent the liquid from immersing into the cavity which may lead to electrical failure.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Normal
Microwave oven interfering with TV reception.| Radio and TV reception can be
affected by microwave operations. It is like the inherence small electrical
appliances such as hair driers and vacuum cleaners can cause and is normal.
Dim oven light| In low power microwave cooking, the oven light may become dim.
This is normal.
Steam accumulating on door, hot air coming out of vents.| In cooking, steam
may come out of the food. Most will come out of the exhaust vents, but some
may accumulate on cool places like the oven door and is completely normal.
Oven started accidentally with no food in it.| Running a microwave with no
food inside it is extremely dangerous. Kogan suggest you either employ the
child lock function or leave a glass of water inside the microwave when it is
not in use.
