Washing pipes using the hose
Assembly
- Mount the handle on the chassis.
- Fasten the handle in place using the supplied screws and washers.
- Insert the hose drum as follows:
- Pull out the two bolts (1) from the drum holder and turn it one quarter of a revolution.
- Insert the drum so that the four rubber spacers on the grip board make contact.
- Let the bolts latch home.
- Connect the black connection hose with the hose drum (2).
- Plug the black 1.5 m connection hose onto the quick coupling on the motor.
- Connect the transparent air hose with intake filter to the nipple on the quick coupling.
Washing pipes using the hose
- To connect the water supply, screw the sup-plied GEKA coupling into the lower female thread on the motor.
- Connect the water hose to the coupling and to a water tap.
IMPORTANT!
If you don’t want to use the supplied water hose you can replace the GEKA
coupling with the Gardena coupling that is also supplied.
Filling the pump with oil
CAUTION!
Using the electric pressure washer with no oil or with too little oil in the
pump is certain to result in damage. Check the oil level each time before you
use the electric pressure washer! When the pump is supplied, it is full of
oil.
CAUTION!
Before using the washer for the first time: Unscrew the transportation oil cap
and dis-pose of it. Screw in the supplied red operation oil cap. (The
operation oil cap has small holes through which any surplus air can escape
when the oil becomes warmer and expands during operation.)
The following oil must be used:
- SAE 15W-40 or SAE 75W-90
- Tank capacity: 500 ml
- Each time before use, check the oil level at the oil level window and top up with oil as re-quired. The level of oil in the pump must reach half way up the oil level window.
- Proceed as follows: .
- Switch off the motor.
- Place the washer in the upright position.
- Unscrew the oil cap and fill in oil.
- Carry out the first oil change after 20 hours in operation and then after every 150 hours.
Visual inspection
Make sure that the washer and especially the power cable are undamaged.
Start-up current limiter
It is always recommended to install a start-up current limiter between the
power socket and the washer, particularly in the case of a B16 fuse. This can
prevent fuse failure when the washer starts up.
Washing pipes
- Screw a suitable pipe washing nozzle onto the male thread of the pipe cleaning hose.
- Reverse jet 3 x 30° with ¼ inch female thread
- Forward and reverse jet: 1 x 0° forward, 3 x 15° reverse with ¼ inch female thread
Washing pipes using the hose
- Rotating jet 3 x 25°, with ¼ inch female thread
- Insert the hose in the pipe.
CAUTION!
If you switch on the washer without first having fastened the hose or inserted
it into a pipe, the hose will whip out of control: Risk of injury!
Switching on the washer
- Check that the rotary switch is in the Off position (O).
- Turn on the water tap.
CAUTION!
The washer must be under water pressure before the washer is switched on. This
forces the air out of the system as the first step!
CAUTION!
Under no circumstances is the electric pressure washer allowed to be used
without a water supply. This would damage the pump by wearing out the seals
within a very short time.
- Set the rotary switch to position I.
- Press ON in the control panel.
Pressure regulator
Use the pressure regulator to set the pressure. When delivered, the
pressure regulator is pre-set to the lowest level.
- Turn clockwise: The pressure will be in-creased
- Turn counter-clockwise: The pressure will be reduced.
IMPORTANT!
The lower the pressure, the higher the flow rate.
Washing pressure-resistant surfaces using the lance
Assembly for washing surfaces using the lance
- Mount the handle on the chassis.
- Fasten the handle in place using the supplied screws and washers.
- Insert the five supplied lance nozzles, each with a different color, into the openings in the grip board so that they are always ready to hand.
- Insert the silver-colored hook for the lance into the holes provided in the handle and tighten the corresponding nuts using a size 14 open-end wrench.
- Plug the black 1.5 m connection hose onto the quick coupling on the motor.
- Connect the transparent air hose with intake filter to the nipple on the quick coupling.
- To connect the water supply, screw the sup-plied GEKA coupling into the lower female thread on the motor.
- Connect the water hose to the coupling and to a water tap.
IMPORTANT!
If you don’t want to use the supplied water hose you can replace the GEKA
coupling with the Gar-dena coupling that is also supplied.
- Plug the other end of the black connection hose onto the hose connection on the pistol.
- Screw the lance onto the pistol and secure it with the pistol’s union nut.
- Plug the matching spray nozzle for your job onto the lance.
Washing pressure-resistant surfaces using the lance
The following nozzles are available:
CAUTION!
The instructions in chapter 5.2 to 5.4 of this operation manual must be
followed at all cost also in connection with washing by means of the lance!
Bypass mode when working with the lance
The washer is in bypass mode when the spray gun is not activated while the
water supply is connected and the washer is ON. In this case the pump lets the
water circulate.
CAUTION!
Allow the washer to run in bypass mode as little as possible and certainly for
no longer than 2 minutes. Otherwise the water temperature will rise, causing
damage to the pump’s components.
Thermal over-pressure valve
The pump is equipped with a thermal overpressure valve. If the temperature
in the water pump rises above 65 °C due to overlong operation in bypass mode,
a gush of hot water will escape through the valve in order for the temperature
in the pump to drop when cold water is drawn in again. The valve will then
close again.
WARNING!
Never change the settings on the thermal over-pressure valve.
When you have finished washing
- Switch off the washer.
- Disconnect the power plug from the power supply.
- Stop the water supply.
- If you have been working with the lance, press and hold the pistol trigger until all the residual water has run out.
- Lock the pistol trigger.
Maintenance
CAUTION!
The washer is not allowed to be connected to the power supply under any
circumstances while you are carrying out any maintenance work.
