The Wöhler Hammer Probe is designed for the determination of wood moisture by
a resistance measurement. The moisture content of wood is often higher in the
core than in the external part of the log. Because of the insertion depth of
25 mm or 40 mm respectively, the moisture meter will show very precise
results, if it is connected to the Hammer Probe.
With the Impact Weight the user can easily insert and withdraw the measuring
needles into the wood.
4 Inserting and Withdrawing the Measuring Needles

⚠ WARNING!
Incorrect use of the Needles can cause injury!
Only remove the protective cap immediately before inserting the needles into
the wood, because the needles could harm persons or objects.
❕ ATTENTION! When inserting the needles into the wood, the Connecting Cable should not be connected to the Hammer Probe, because otherwise the cable could be damaged.
4.2 Pulling the needles out of the wood
-
To bring the needles to the measurement position, hammer the Impact Weight several times against the bottom final stop (see figure 1).
Connect the Wöhler Moisture Meter and perform the measurement.
Proceed as follows to pull out the needles after the measurement: -
Grasp the Hammer Probe as described in Chapter 4.1, and hammer the Impact Weight several times against the top final stop (see figure 1).
This way you can easily pull the needles out of the wood without braking our deforming them.
