How to use

The Wöhler Smart Connect App can be connected via Bluetooth simultaneously to as many as 4 Wöhler Smart Connect devices.
You can use the app for the following purposes:
– to carry out settings on the Wöhler SC measuring unit
– to control the measurements of the Wöhler SC measuring units
– to manage measurement data and customer data
– to create and send a measurement protocol in the form of a PDF file

System requirements which must be met by the terminal device

The terminal device must be a Bluetooth-capable  device with the following operating system:

  • Android 7.0 or higher
  • iOS 10.0 or higher

Installing the  Smart Connect App

Fig. 1: Icon of the Wöhler Smart Connect App

  • Install the Wöhler Smart Connect App “Wöhler Smart Connect” on your terminal device. Go to the Google Play Store (Android) or to the App Store (iOS).
The Wöhler Smart Connect App is available from there free of charge.

  • Start the Wöhler Smart Connect App by tapping on the icon.

IMPORTANT!
When the app is started for the first time, it is in German language. The app language will change automatically to English as soon as the app is connected to an English
SC unit.
IMPORTANT!
When the app is called up for the first time you will be asked if you want to permit access to your location. It is imperative to give permission in order to be able to work with
the app. The request comes from Bluetooth; the Wöhler app never accesses the data on your terminal device.
IMPORTANT!
Active fields in the Wöhler Smart Connect App are shown on a blue background, inactive fields are shown on a gray background. The app view might vary depending on the device connected. Fields are actively presented by the app only when they play a meaningful role in the use of the connected device.

Connection set-up

W HLER Wöhler Smart Connect App - fig 2

  • Switch on the Wöhler SC.
  • The connection symbol in the header line on the Wöhler SC display will blink. The device is ready for coupling.
  • Position the Wöhler SC in relation to the mobile terminal device such that a connection can be created with Bluetooth.

IMPORTANT!
Up to 4 Wöhler SC devices can be connected simultaneously with the app.

  • Tap on CONNECT DEVICE on the start screen. (GERÄT VERBINDEN) for the first time.)W HLER Wöhler Smart Connect App - fig 3

The Wöhler SC devices within range of the terminal device will then be indicated. Each is followed in brackets by its serial number. You will find the serial number on the label attached to the back of each Wöhler SC device.

  • If this is not the case, tap on “Update the list”.
  • Tap on the checkbox to select the Wöhler SC device with which you want to connect the Wöhler Smart Connect App.
  • Tap on “Connect”.

IMPORTANT!
When you call up the Wöhler Smart Connect App again later, the Wöhler Smart Connect App will connect automatically with the Wöhler SC device.
The overview screen will open after a few seconds. Here you can see for example the “last mainte- nance” date. If a warning symbol appears alongside, maintenance is due in order to meet the requirements on precision. If there is a tick mark alongside the maintenance date (see the adjacent screenshot), the device meets the maintenance  requirements.
W HLER Wöhler Smart Connect App - fig 4Tap on the cogwheel symbol in the header in order to move to the app’s settings. Here you can end the connection.
The second line shows the Wöhler SC devices with which the Wöhler Smart Connect App is connected (in the screenshot shown alongside there is only a Wöhler SC 602).
Tap on the Wöhler SC device whose measurement results you want displayed. The box of the selected Wöhler SC device is slightly enlarged.

  • Tap on a “+” if you want to connect more Wöhler SC devices with the app.

IMPORTANT!
You can connect up to 4 Wöhler SC devices with the app.

  • To stop and delete the connection (the connection will not be reactivated automatically when the device is switched on again), go to the general settings (cogwheel symbol in the header).
  • Tap on “Delete known connections”.

Device Settings

To enter the device settings, select the device on the overview screen and tap on “Device settings”.

6.1 Allocating a color codeW HLER Wöhler Smart Connect App - fig
6

If you are working with several Wöhler SC devices it makes sense to allocate a different color code to each device as a simple means of identification which can then also be used to distinguish between the measurement data in the app.

  • Begin by sticking a colored dot (included in delivery) on your Wöhler SC device.

  • If you are working with several Wöhler SC devices, allocate the color of the dot which you stuck on the device to the corresponding device in the  app. This way you can distinguish easily between the measurement values shown in the app.
W HLER Wöhler Smart Connect App - fig 7

  • Here you are able to remove again the color previously allocated.

  • Select the unit of pressure and the unit of temperature which are to apply in the display of the selected SC device.

  • Select the resolution which is to be used to display the measured pressure value.

  • Select whether you want the device to switch off automatically after no buttons have been pressed for one hour.W HLER Wöhler Smart Connect App - fig 8

  • Pressure averaging: Here you can switch between “Fast” (every measurement value is in- dicated), “Normal” (the average of the last 4 seconds is indicated), and  “Stable” (adjustable damping).

  • Damping: If stable pressure measurement is selected, damping can be increased using the sliding bar in order to obtain a more stable measurement signal. This results  simultaneously in a slower measurement display.

Setting range 1% – 99 %
1%: is equivalent to “normal” pressure averaging
99 %: extremely stable and slow measurement display

  • Confirm your settings.
  • Tap on “Cancel” if you do not want to adopt the settings.
  • Tap on “Disconnect” if you want to end the connection between the app and the selected device.

Live measurement (Wöhler SC 602 and Wöhler SC 660)

7.1 Live measurement

In the “Live measurement” menu you are shown all the measurement data which are currently being measured by the connected Wöhler SC devices. The measurement data
are updated every second.
IMPORTANT!
The external temperature will be indicated only when a corresponding temperature sensor is connected.
7.2 Configuration of the live viewW HLER Wöhler Smart Connect App - fig

  • Tap on the graphics button in the live view in order to display the trend in the measurement values.

You can have up to 4 measurement values displayed simultaneously in the graphics.

  • Tap on a colored field and select the device and the measurement value which you want to have presented in this color.
  • To return from the graphics display to the display of numerical measurement values, tap on the measurement values button.
  • Tap on the stop button in the footer in order to end the live measurement.

When measurement has been stopped, the save button is active.

  • Tap on the save button in order to dispatch a PDF file of the measurement protocol by Email or Messenger Service.

Logger measurement (Wöhler SC 602 and Wöhler SC 660)

In the “Logger measurement” menu you can start a long-term data recording with the Wöhler SC device.
Each new logger measurement overwrites the data of the previous measurement in the measuring unit. Before the system begins, it asks therefore whether you want to save
the existing data.

  • The first thing to do at the start of a new measurement is to enter the settings for the logger measurement in the app.

IMPORTANT!
Because the measurement data are saved in the Wöhler SC device, it is possible to disconnect the Bluetooth link between the app and the measuring unit during the logger measurement. In this case the display of the Wöhler SC device will switch off.
