Intended use
The product is an infrared (IR) thermometer. Use the product to measure surface temperature and count temperature readings. The product is not designed for medical use. The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture must be avoided under all circumstances. If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be damaged. Improper use can result in short circuits, fires, or other hazards. The product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product. Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with the operating instructions. General
- The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.
- If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Handling
- If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
- Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
- Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appliance.
Operating environment
- Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
- Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
- Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
- Protect the product from direct sunlight.
- Do not switch the product on after it has been taken from a cold to a warm environment. The condensation that forms might destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room temperature before you use it.
- Never operate the product in direct proximity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields or transmitter aerials or HF generators. Doing so can prevent the product from functioning properly.
LED light
- Do not look directly into the LED light!
- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
Li-ion battery
- Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the rechargeable battery might cause an explosion or a fire!
- Never short-circuit the contacts of the rechargeable battery. Do not throw the battery or the product into fire. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
- Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even if you do are not using the product. Due to the re-chargeable battery technology being used, you do not need to discharge the rechargeable battery first.
- Never charge the rechargeable battery of the product unattended.
- When charging, place the product on a surface that is not heat-sensitive. It is normal that a certain amount of heat is generated during charging.

Placing and mounting
Finding a suitable location
Finding a suitable location determines the effectiveness and accuracy of the product. Select a location that is not directly exposed to air-conditioning and cooling fans.
Mount using the %hanging holes
Using the hanging holes and suitable screws you can hang the product on a wall. If necessary, drill holes and insert wall plugs. WARNING! Risk of electric shock or injury! Before drilling, check for concealed wires or pipes beneath the surface.
Mount using adhesive tape
Using double-sided adhesive tape, you can mount the product to a suitable surface.
Important:
You configure the product through the opening at the rear of the product. When
using adhesive tape for mounting, the opening may no longer be accessible.
Before mounting, configure the product and set the desired operating mode.
To mount:
- Clean the surface on which you intend to mount the product. Make sure it is free of grease and oil.
- Stick the double-sided tape to the back of the product casing. Make sure not to cover any openings in the casing.
- Mount the product to the surface.
Mount on a tripod
Attach the product to a tripod using the tripod thread.
Setting up the power supply
You can power the product via battery or a USB power supply.
Powering via USB
To power the product via USB, connect a USB power supply (5 V/DC, min. 500 mA) to the micro USB port on the product.
(Optional) Setting up the battery power supply
Besides operating the product via a USB power supply, you can install a Li-Ion
battery to operate it on battery power.
If the battery is not supplied, you can purchase one of the type: 1x 3.7 V Li-
Ion 18650 (2500 mAh).
Installing the battery
- Remove the 3 screws from the rear of the casing.
- Remove the rear part of the casing.
- Install the battery into the battery compartment. Observe the correct polarity markings.
- Install the rear part of the casing again.
Charging the battery
Before using the product for the first time, charge the battery for at least 8
hours. To charge the battery, connect a USB power supply (5 V/DC via USB, min.
500 mA) to the USB-C™ port on the product.
Note:
A fully charged 1x 3.7 V Li-Ion 18650 (2500 mAh) battery has a standby time of
approx. 7 days.
Switching on and off
- To switch on, move the switch On/Off to On.
- After use, move the switch On/Off to Off to switch off.
Configuring
Set the temperature display unit as follows:
- Insert a long and thin object into the opening at the back of the product leading to the mode button.
- Carefully press the button until the desired unit shows on the display: C (degrees Celsius) or F (degrees Fahrenheit).

Selecting an operating mode
To select a mode:
- Insert a long and thin object into the opening at the back of the product leading to the mode button.
- Push the button for about 3 seconds to switch modes. Observe the display while you switch and select the required mode: working mode (display: bod), counting mode (display: Coo), or surface mode (display: Sur).

Measuring temperature
Measure temperature in the working mode range.
PRECONDITIONS:
(If you have moved the product to a new location) the product was given at
least 30 minutes to adjust
- Activate the working mode (display: bod).
- Approach the sensor with the object. Maintain about 5 – 10 cm between object and sensor.
- The display shows the measured temperature.
- If the indicator lights FLASH RED and an ALARM sounds: the temperature is abnormal (> +37.3 °C). This status will reset after a few seconds.
- If the display shows Li (lower end) or Hi (upper end) and an audible alert sounds: the reading is out of range
Measuring surface temperature
Measure the surface temperature of an object.
PRECONDITIONS:
(If you have moved the product to a new location) the product was given at
least 30 minutes to adjust
- Activate the surface mode (display: Sur).
- Approach the sensor with the object. Maintain about 5 – 10 cm between object and sensor.
- The display shows the measured temperature.
- A beep sounds and the indicator lights light up green.
- If the display shows Li (lower end) or Hi (upper end) and an audible alert sounds: the reading is out of range
Counting the readings
Count every successful measurement and display the total count.

- Activate the counting mode (display: Coo).
- Approach the sensor with the object. Maintain about 5 – 10 cm between object and sensor.
- A beep sounds.
- The current count shows on the display.
Cleaning and care
Clean the product with a dry, fiber free cloth.
NOTICE! Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other
chemical solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
Disposal
- Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from the product. You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used (re-chargeable) batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited. Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labeled with this symbol to indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
