Product Usage Instructions

Important Safety Information
Before using the Desk Monitor Arm, please read and follow the important safety information below:

  • Ensure that your monitor weight falls within the specified range of 4.4-26.4 lbs (2.0-12 kg). Do not exceed the maximum weight limit.
  • Check the VESA pattern of your monitor before installation. The minimum VESA pattern supported is 75mm x 75mm/3 x 3 (W x H), and the maximum VESA pattern supported is 100mm x 100mm/3.9 x 3.9 (W x H).
  • Verify the total weight of the monitor and any accessories attached to it before installing the Desk Monitor Arm.

Installation
Follow the steps below to properly install the Desk Monitor Arm:

Step 1: Verify Supplied Parts and Hardware

  • 01 x 1 – Base
  • 02 x 1 – USB Cable
  • A x 1 – USB Pressure Plate
  • B x 2 – Bolt M4 x 10mm
  • Large Allen Key 3/16 (5mm)

Step 2: Attach C-Clamp or Grommet Mounting

  • 03 x 1 – C-Clamp
  • 04 x 1 – Clamp Cover
  • C x 4 – Bolt M6 x 12mm
  • D x 1 – Grommet Bolt
  • E x 1 – Locking Plate
  • F x 1 – Butterfly Nut
  • Medium Allen Key 5/32 (4mm)

Step 3: Attach Arm Extender and Arm

  • 05 x 1 – Arm Extender
  • 06 x 1 – Arm
  • M1 x 1 – Small Allen Key 1/8 (3mm)

Step 4: Attach Monitor Plate

  • 07 x 1 – Monitor Plate
  • G x 1 – Washer 16 x 8.2 x 1.5mm
  • H x 1 – Bolt M8 x 38mm

Step 5: Secure the Monitor

  • I x 4 – Bolt M4 x 12mm
  • J x 4 – Washer 10 x 4.5 x 1.0mm
  • K x 4 – Spacer L13mm
  • L x 4 – Large Allen Key 3/16 (5mm)

Step 6: Tension Adjustment
Note: Tension adjustment should only be done after monitor installation.
Attention: Do not adjust tension without the monitor attached.

  • M3 x 1 – Large Allen Key 3/16 (5mm)

Step 7: Cable Management
Arrange and secure cables using the cable management system provided.

  • Q: What is the weight range supported by the Desk Monitor Arm?
    A: The Desk Monitor Arm supports monitors weighing between 4.4-26.4 lbs (2.0-12 kg).

    A: Yes, you can adjust the tension of the Desk Monitor Arm after the monitor has been securely attached. Use the provided large Allen key (3/16) for tension adjustment.

  • Q: What tools do I need for installation?
    A: The following tools are needed for installation (not included):

    • Electric Drill (Optional)
    • Drill Bit (Optional) 3/8 – 1 1/16 (10 – 27mm)
    • Large Allen Key 3/16 (5mm)
    • Medium Allen Key 5/32 (4mm)
    • Small Allen Key 1/8 (3mm)

Weight Restrictions
If your monitor weighs more or less than the range above, this mount is NOT compatible. Monitor should not exceed maximum listed weight.

Check the VESA Pattern of Your Monitor before Installation

  • Measure Your Monitor’s VESA Pattern:
    • Minimum: 75mm x 75mm/3” x 3” (W x H)
    • Maximum: 100mm x 100mm/3.9” x 3.9” (W x H)

If your Monitor’s VESA Pattern is smaller than 75mm x 75mm/3” x 3” or greater than 100mm x 100mm/3.9” x 3.9”, this mount is NOT COMPATIBLE. Please contact our Technical Support at 1-800-651-9525 (US/CA), 44-808-196-3875 (UK) or Customer Service at support@ergear.com.

TENSION ADJUSTMENT SHOULD BE DONE ONLY AFTER MONITOR INSTALLATION:
Attention DO NOT adjust tension without monitor attached.

  1. Verify the weight of your monitor (including accessories) is between 4.4 – 26.4 lbs (2 – 12 kg).
  2. Monitor weight information can be found within its box or manual.
  3. Ensure monitor has been securely attached to the mount.

WARNING:

  • Gas Spring Arm is under pressure and should be handled with care.
  • Failure to follow the instructions may result in damage to the mount and/or personal injury.

INSTALLATION

STEP 1 Attach the USB CableErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm-

Step 2 Attach to Desk Mounting Surface

  • Option A: For Clamp Mounting
    • A-1 Remove the pre-installed bolts and detach the C-clamp from the brace. Reattach through the pair of holes with the best clamping range for your desk thickness.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(31\)
    • A-2 Attach the C-clamp brace to the base using bolts [C].
    • A-3 Clip on the clamp cover [04].
    • A-4 After pushing the clamp fully onto the desk, rotate the knob until the C-Clamp [03] is secured firmly to the underside of desktop.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(14\)
  • Option B: For Grommet Mounting
    • B-1 If a hole is needed for grommet installation, be sure to leave at least 2” from the edge of desktop and mark where the hole will be drilled. Use either a 3/8” or 1 1/16” drill bit for this step.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(15\)
    • B-2 Screw grommet bolt [D] into the base, and then put it through the desk.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(16\)
    • B-3 Slide locking plate [E] and butterfly nut [F] onto the grommet bolt and firmly secure with butterfly nut [F].ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(17\)

Step 3 Attach the Arm Sections

  • Push the arm extender [05] into the base, and then the arm [06] onto the arm extenders [05].
  • Tighten the set screws on both sides of the arm joints. Do not overtighten the set screws as this may affect the rotation of the arm.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(18\)

Step 4 Attach the Monitor Plate
Slide the monitor plate [07] sideways into the slot at the end of the arm [06]. Fasten with bolt [H] and washer [G].ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm-

Step 5 Attach the Monitor to the Arm

  • Option A (For Flat Back Monitor)
    • A-1 Thread two bolts [I] with washers [K] into the top holes until about 0.1-0.2″ (3-5mm) of space is left between monitor back and washer.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(20\)
    • A-2 Hang the monitor from the monitor plate with the top two bolts [I] (see Fig. A or Fig. B). Screw the remaining two bolts [I] into the bottom holes (see Fig.C). Tighten all bolts [I] evenly.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(21\)
  • Option B (For Curved Back Monitor)
    • B-1 Slide the washers [K] and spacers [L] over the bolts [J]. Turn the top two bolts [J] CLOCKWISE until about 0.1-0.2″ (3-5mm) of space is left between the washer [K] and the spacer [L].ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(22\)
    • B-2 Hang the monitor from the monitor plate with the top two bolts [J] (see Fig. A or Fig. B). Place the spacers [L] between the monitor plate and back of monitor. Screw the remaining two bolts [J] into the bottom holes (see Fig.C). Tighten all bolts evenly.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(21\)

Step 6 Adjust the Gas Spring Tension
NOTE: Ensure the arm is held in a horizontal position (parallel to desktop) during adjustment. Failing to do so may result in difficulty adjusting or potential damage to the mount.

  • If the gas spring arm RISES with the monitor attached, hold the arm in a horizontal position while using the large Allen key [M3] to turn the adjustment bolt CLOCKWISE, REDUCING the arm tension.
  • If the gas spring arm LOWERS with the monitor attached, hold the arm in a horizontal position while using the large Allen key [M3] to turn the adjustment bolt COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, INCREASING the arm tension.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(25\)

WARNING! Gas Spring arm is under pressure and should be handled with care. Failure to follow the instructions may result in damage to the mount and/or personal injury.

Step 7 Rotation Restriction
To ensure proper stability, do not position monitor behind base. Monitor and arms should remain over the desktop. Failure to do so may cause instability, resulting in property damage or injury.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-

Step 8 Adjust the Monitor to Proper Tilt Angle
Slightly loosen the bolt with large Allen key [M3]. Tilt monitor to your desired position. Re-tighten the bolt with large Allen key [M3] to hold monitor in desired position.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm-

Step 9 Swivel Adjustment

  • Turn adjustment set screw CLOCKWISE to INCREASE the swiveling tension.
  • Turn adjustment set screw COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to REDUCE the swiveling tension.ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(28\)

Step 10 Rotation Adjustment
Firmly hold monitor at edges and rotate from Landscape to Portrait mode .ErGear-EGDS2-Desk-Monitor-Arm- \(29\)
