nuwave 31405 Duralon Blue Non Stick Cookware
Congratulations
Congratulations on your purchase of NuWave® Duralon® Blue Ceramic Non-Stick
Cookware! Our mission is to provide products that promote healthy living and
improve the quality of your life. You now have cookware with technologically
advanced Duralon® Ceramic Non-Stick Coating. This coating is extremely
convenient because food easily slides off. Cleanup is simple because the
ceramic surface easily washes clean.
Unlike other traditional cookware, cooking with NuWave® Duralon® Blue Ceramic
NonStick Cookware is healthier because unwanted fats and oils are not
necessary. Ceramic coating, in general, is stronger and more resistant to
abrasions than other non-stick materials that may contain chemicals such as
perfluorooctanoic acid (“PFOA”), which has been linked to certain types of
cancer, or polytetrafluoroethylene (“PTFE”), which may start to degrade at
temperatures over 500°F. Our NuWave® Duralon® Blue Ceramic NonStick Cookware
does not contain either, and has been developed to provide many years of
satisfaction and enjoyable cooking!

COOKWARE CONSTRUCTION
-
DURALON® BLUE
A Ceramic Non-Stick Coating that is stronger and free of toxic chemicals. -
FORGED ALUMINUM CORE
Durable and lightweight, it conducts and distributes heat evenly. -
HIGH-TEMPERATURE EXTERIOR COATING
Oven safe and dishwasher safe with a long-lasting, enduring finish. -
STAINLESS STEEL INDUCTION-READY PLATE
Makes the cookware induction ready; heats up quickly and retains heat longer.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
- Do not allow children near an open flame or heating surface unsupervised.
- Lids and cookware may become hot during prolonged cooking.
- To avoid injury, always use oven mitts or pot holders when handling hot cookware.
- Use caution when removing lids as steam may accumulate inside the cookware.
- Do not leave your cookware unattended while in use.
NuWave® Duralon® Healthy Ceramic Non-Stick Cookware is compatible with common heating sources such as gas and electric stoves, as well as induction cooktops. Induction is the safest heating method because it transfers magnetic energy to the cookware, creating even heat distribution without wasting energy.
WORKS WITH ALL STOVETOPS
COOKING
Utensils
The NuWave Culinary Team recommends the use of high-heat-rated, silicone-based
tools for cooking foods. Do not use metal utensils while cooking. Never
attempt to cut foods while they are in the cookware. Any misuse of the coating
will void the warranty; refer to the Limited Warranty.
Recommended Heating
Your NuWave Duralon® Blue Ceramic Non-Stick Cookware can handle high heat. It
has been tested at temperatures up to 900ºF, coming out unscathed.
However, long-term or repeated exposure to such heat can cause food to scorch,
burn, or discolor the cookware and potentially damage the coating. Therefore
the maximum recommended ambient temperature in an oven is 500ºF, while maximum
safe temperature for your glass lids is 350°F. You may sear foods in your
cookware at high heat for short periods of time but note that keeping the
temperature down to 450°F or below will increase the useful life of the
ceramic coating from 30%–50%. For best results, allow pan to heat between 280º
F~300º F for up to 1 minute before inserting and cooking foods. Avoid
preheating empty pans above 300º F.
Smoke Point
If using oil, do not exceed the oil’s smoke point.
The smoke point of oil is the temperature at which it begins to break down to
glycerol and free fatty acids, producing bluish smoke.
The smoke point also signifies the beginning of flavor and nutritional
degradation.
Oil Type | Smoke Point |
---|---|
Rice Bran Oil | 490°F |
Grapeseed Oil | 485°F |
Canola Oil | 435°F |
Extra-Virgin Olive Oil | 405°F |
Peanut Oil | 440°F |
Sesame Oil | 410°F |
Sunflower Oil | 440°F |
Almond Oil | 420°F |
Smoke points can vary dependent upon many different factors. Consult the list of common oil types (right) and their median smoke point. Always practice caution when cooking with oil.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING AND CARE
NuWave Duralon Ceramic Cookware is an investment that is meant to last for
years. The following instructions will not only help you properly maintain
your cookware, but they will also help to extend your cookware’s life to the
fullest.
While NuWave Duralon Cookware is 100% dishwasher-safe, we highly recommend
hand-washing your cookware with a mild liquid soap in order to maximize the
longevity of the non-stick coatin Always
Always:
- Let your cookware cool on the counter or stovetop, away from heat, before washing it.
- Hand wash your cookware.
- Wash your cookware with a mild liquid dish soap and a non-abrasive cloth or sponge.
- Rinse your cookware thoroughly and dry it with paper towels or a soft cloth.
- Use silicone or wooden tools when cooking.
- Use a hanging rack to store your cookware (where possible).
Never:
- Use harsh abrasives, metal scrubbers, or heavy-duty cleaning chemicals. They will damage the Duralon coating, inhibiting functionality and voiding the warranty.
- Run cold or warm water over hot cookware and do not immerse hot cookware in water. This can also damage the Duralon coating.
- Scrape the surface of your cookware with metal.
- Store your cookware stacked in such a way that the coating can be scratched or otherwise damaged.
- Heat your cookware above 450˚F.
