INSTALLATION
-
Make sure to put the solar panel where it will get as much sunlight as possible. Note that trees and buildings etc. can put the solar panel in the shade and affect its charging capacity.
-
Mark out where to drill the holes for the solar panel. Check that there are no cables or conduits under the markings.
Drill holes for the supplied plugs and screws. Put the plugs in the drilled holes and screw on the solar panel with the screws. -
For best functionality place the floodlight at a height of no more than 2 meters above the ground on a stable surface that can support the weight of the floodlight and which will not move if exposed to vibrations or wind. The floodlight must be high enough to detect movement and disperse the light.
-
Mark out where to drill the holes for the floodlight. Check that there are no cables or conduits under the markings. Drill holes for the supplied plugs and screws.
-
Put the floodlight on the screws.
-
Adjust the angle of the floodlight with the adjuster screws (8).
USE
Before the floodlight can shine at full capacity the solar panel must have
charged the battery in direct sunlight for 36–48 hours. Put the switch in the
0 (OFF) position before charging.
After charging put the switch in the I (ON) position.
NOTE:
Avoid pointing the sensor at:
- Objects that can quickly fluctuate in temperature, e.g. ventilation openings and air conditioning units.
- Things that move, such as treetops and traffic.
- Only use the solar panel to charge the batteries. Do not use any other type of charger.
MAINTENANCE
- Check at regular intervals that the connection between the solar panel and the floodlight is working properly.
- Clean the solar panel regularly with a damp cloth. This ensures optimum capacity and battery charging.
- Never allow abrasive substances or materials to come into contact with the solar panel.
Replacing the battery
- Unscrew the four screws holding the battery cover in place.
- Carefully remove the battery cover and release the battery cable.
- Replace the old battery with a new rechargeable battery (3.7 V 2400 mAh Li-ion).
- Replace the battery cable and put the battery pack in the floodlight.
- Replace the battery cover and screw it tight.
WARNING!
- Do not open, short-circuit or otherwise damage batteries.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix different types of batteries.
- Used batteries must not be discarded in household waste. They must be recycled in accordance with local regulations.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem | Possible cause | Action |
---|---|---|
The floodlight does not go on. | The switch is switched off. | Put the switch in |
position I (ON).
The motion detector is misaligned.| Adjust the motion detector so that it
covers the required area.
The floodlight flashes.| Discharged battery.| Put the switch in the Off
position and allow the solar panel to charge in direct sunlight for 8-12 hours
before using it again.
Heat reflected from objects can activate the motion detector.| Adjust the
motion detector.
The floodlight goes on for no reason.| The motion detector is reacting to
moving objects, e.g. trees, traffic, etc.| Adjust the motion detector.
The floodlight shines continuously.| Heat reflected from objects can activate
the motion detector.| Adjust the motion detector.
