Read this user guide and follow all the safety instructions before installation and first use.

• The product is not waterproof.

• Use the product with the provided power adapters only.

• Be cautious of static electricity during installation and usage.

• Keep this product away from sharp objects or strong corrosives.

• When bending the light strip during installation, avoid folding the LED components as
  it may affect the life span of the product.

• Remove any nails, metal, or other electro conductive objects from the installation surface before attaching the strip light. Failure to do so may result in short-circuiting.

• Do not install the strip light near any heat sources.

• Do not allow children to install the strip light without adult supervision.

• Completely unroll the light strip before powering them on.

FCC Radiation Exposure Statement
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment.
This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm between the product and your body.
Non-replaceable light source.
Not intended for illumination. Only used for creating ambiance.

• Do not connect the light strip to the power supply while it is wound onto a reel.
• Do not cover the light strip.
• Do not open or cut the strip light.

OVERVIEW

Note: This kit includes 1 HDMI cable. Additional HDMI cables will need to be purchased separately.

Controller

Power Button|

• Press to turn the system On/Off
• Press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds until the green indicator is off. After approximately 1-2 seconds, the green indicator will begin flashing. The system is now in Wi-Fi pairing mode.

Sync Button| Press to sync the lights to the input source. Press again to stop syncing.
Light| Connect to LED light strip.
DATA|

• Connect to HDMI sync box “DATA OUT” port.
• The second USB port is used to connect to an additional device (light bars, floor lamps etc.)
  Note: Additional devices purchased separately.

Power| Connect to Power adapter.

INSTALLATION

Step 1.

• Unbox the product checking all items listed in the components list are present.
• Unroll and power on the LED light strip to ensure it lights up.

Step 2.
Wipe the installation surface to ensure it is clean and dry.

Step 3.
Starting from the bottom left corner, attach the LED light strip to the rear of the TV. Press the strip firmly and then secure it in place using the supplied clips.

Notes: The LED light strip must be installed starting from the bottom left corner of the rear of the TV, in clockwise direction.
Step 4.

• Insert the LED light strip connector into the “LIGHT” port on the controller.
• Connect the Power Adapter and USB cable to the controller.
• Using 3M tape attach the controller to a wall or rear of the TV.

Step 5.

• Connect the USB cable from the controller into the “DATA OUT” port on the HDMI sync box.
• Connect the HDMI sync box to the TV using the supplied HDMI cable.
• Connect the media source (gaming console, streaming device etc.) to the “HDMI IN” port on the sync box using an HDMI cable (not supplied).
• Connect the Power Adapter to the HDMI sync box.
• Power on both the controller and HDMI sync box.

Install App
Download the “Kogan Smarter Home” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

To register:

1. If you already have a Smarter Home account, select ‘Log In’. To register a new account, select ‘Sign Up’.
2. The system will automatically recognise your country. If needed, you can manually select your country from the drop-down box. Enter your email address and tap ‘Get Verification Code’ to continue.
3. A 6-digit code will be sent to the submitted email address. Enter this code before the one-minute timer expires.
4. Continue to the next page and complete your Smarter Home profile.

Set device in pairing mode
When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (indicator is flashing green).
If not automatically in pairing mode when powered on, you can manually set the device in pairing mode by pressing and holding the Power button for 5 seconds until the green indicator is off. After approximately 1-2 seconds, the green indicator will begin flashing.
Add device through network

1. Once registered, tap “Add Device” on the app’s home page, or the “+” in the upper right corner, to add a new device through the network.

2. Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Lighting > HDMI TV Light).

3. Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
   Notes:
   

   • The device and the app have to use the same Wi-Fi network.
   • The device is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks.
   • Depending on the product, Steps 3 and 4 may be in opposite order.

4. Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the indicator flashing green, and tap “Confirm light is rapidly flashing”.

5. The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until connection is complete.

6. After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page.

Note:
Once connected, you can select Create Scene from the “+” in the upper right corner (or from the Scene tab) to group connected SmarterHome™ products and automate their functions.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. The adhesive tape is not holding.

   • Ensure the installation surface is clean and dry.
   • Firmly press over the strip after sticking.
   • Reinforce the installation using more clips and 3M tape.

2. Cannot connect to Wi-Fi.
   Ensure that your phone has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on before attempting to pair.
   Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signals are supported. 5.0 GHz networks will not work.

3. Lights are not syncing with the TV.

   • Ensure you have installed the LED light strip in the clockwise directions startingfrom the bottom left corner of the rear of the TV.
   • Ensure you have connected the HDMI box and it is powered on.
