IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

TThis equipment meets the regulation, which is recognized internationally, for the case of human exposure to radio waves generated by the transmitter. This equipment complies with EN.62311; Assessment of electronic and electrical equipment related to human exposure restrictions for electromagnetic fields; the harmonised standard of DIRECTIVE 2014/53/EU.

CONDITIONS OF USE
Proel do not accept any liability for damage caused to third parties due to improper installation, use of non-original spare parts, lack of maintenance, tampering or improper use of this product, including disregard of ascertainable and applicable safety standards. Proel strongly recommends that this apparatus must be installed taking into consideration all current National, Federal, State and Local regulations. The product must be installed by qualified personal. Please contact the manufacturer for further information.

PACKAGING, SHIPPING AND COMPLAINT
This unit package has been submitted to ISTA 1A integrity tests. We suggest you control the unit conditions immediately after unpacking it.  If any damage is found, immediately advise the dealer. Keep all unit packaging parts to allow inspection. Proel is not responsible for any damage that occurs during shipment.Products are sold “delivered ex warehouse” and shipment is at charge and risk of the buyer. Possible damages to unit should be immediately notified to forwarder. Each complaint for manumitted package should be done within eight days from product receipt.

WARRANTY AND PRODUCTS RETURN
Proel products have operating warranty and comply their specifications, as stated by manufacturer. Proel warrants all materials, workmanship and proper operation of this product for a period of two years from the original date of purchase. If any defects are found in the materials or workmanship or if the product fails to function properly during the applicable warranty period, the owner should inform about these defects the dealer or the distributor, providing receipt or invoice of date of purchase and defect detailed description. This warranty does not extend to damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, neglect or abuse. Proel S.p.A. will verify damage on returned units, and when the unit has been properly used and warranty is still valid, then the unit will be replaced or repaired. Proel S.p.A. is not responsible for any “direct damage” or “indirect damage” caused by product defectiveness.

Thank you for choosing a PROEL product. Please take some time to read this manual to understand all the features of your system and take advantage of all its performance capabilities. All PROEL products are CE approved and designed for continuous use in professional applications.

  • The FM Tuner features automatic frequency selection and 40 memory presets.
  • The unit can be mounted on a standard 19” rack.

MAIN PANEL OPERATIONS

  1. POWER switch
    Main switch to turn on or turn off the unit.

  2. SD CARD slot
    Slot to insert a SD CARD in the unit with music files in AAC, WAV, FLAC, MP3, WMA, formats or standard pre-recorded announcements.

  3. MEMORY AND NUMBER buttons
    Buttons to recall a memory preset or to specify a number: see the detailed instructions for the sound source.

  4. CARD MEMORY button
    Button to recall a memorized track on SD CARD or USB pendrive.

  5. AUX IN
    This is a stereo mini jack female connector that accept an external a line level stereo source (e.g. radio tuners, television receivers, media players, etc.). It is wired as follows:

    • Tip = Left channel
    • Ring = Right channel
    • Sleeve = shield or ground
  6. LCD DISPLAY
    The display shows the current source and information from the specific source: for example, the FM frequency, the radio station name, RDS messages from the radio broadcaster, the file in playing, the time and so on.   7. IR sensor
    This sensor receives the command from the remote controller.

  8. USB slot
    Slot for inserting a USB pendrive with music files in AAC, WAV, FLAC, MP3, WMA format or standard pre-recorded announcements.

  9. CONTROL buttons
    These buttons have different functions depending on the player: see detailed instructions further in this manual.

  10. MODE button
    Each time this button is pressed the unit switches to the next player: DAB RADIO, FM RADIO, BLUETOOTH, SD CARD, USB DRIVE.
    Please note that AUX IN input is always active, so to silence the selected source you have to use the MUTE button.

  11. RS232 port
    Thru this port is possible to control the unit remotely from a computer. See the RS232 appendix further in this manual.

  12. AUTO PLAY switch
    If this switch is set to ON, the unit plays automatically the last song or announcement in the SD CARD or USB pendrive that was playing when the unit was switched off.

  13. NOTE : this works only if the SD CARD or the USB pendrive is the player active when the unit is switched off.

  14. OUTPUT
    These are two RCA female connectors that accept two RCA plug This is an unbalanced output that can be connected to the other equipment like mixer or amplifier.

  15. BT ANT
    This the antenna for the internal Bluetooth receiver.

  16. RADIO ANT 75 ohm
    This is a 9.5mm male antenna connector that accepts the DAB/FM antenna supplied with the unit or a 9.5mm female TV connector wired to an external DAB/FM antenna with a typical coaxial 75 ohm cable.

    • Note : the antenna supplied is a simple wire of 140 cm length and to avoid interference it must be placed distant from other cables and metal objects. If you experience problems with FM radio reception, we suggest using a 75ohm coaxial cable to place the antenna in a more suitable location.PROEL-96MAN0168-DAB-FM-RDS-USB-SD-CARD-Bluetooth-Player-FIG- \(4\)
  17. MAINS SELECTOR
    This switch sets the AC voltage line of the country (usually it is set by factory and isn’t necessary to change it). The 115V setting is for mains lines in the range of 100-120V~ and 230V setting is for mains lines in the range of 220-240V~.
    WARNING : an incorrect setting of AC LINE VOLTAGE could seriously damage the device!

  18. AC~ SOCKET
    Here’s where you plug in your mains supply cord. You should always use the mains cord supplied with the device. Be sure that your device is turned off before you plug the mains supply cord into an electrical outlet.

  19. FUSE holder
    Here is where the mains protection fuse is placed.
    TYPE : T1AL AC250V. REPLACE THE PROTECTION FUSE ONLY WITH THE SAME TYPE. IF, AFTER THE REPLACEMENT, THE FUSE IS BLOWN AGAIN, DO NOT TRY TO REPLACE IT AGAIN AND CONTACT THE NEAREST PROEL SERVICE CENTER.

  20. GROUND screw
    This is a supplementary GROUND point that can be used to connect a better EARTH/GROUND (chassis rack for example) to try to enhance the RADIO receiving signal or to eliminate Hum/Buzz noise coming from other equipment in the rack.

FM RADIO OPERATIONS

INF button

  • Short press to display various information of current station.
  • Long press to enter in the setting MENU, press ▼T or T▲ to select different settings, press ENTER to confirm:
    • MENU < Scan Setting >: you can choose between < All stations > for low level radio signals or < Strong only > for very strong radio signals when scanning the FM band to memorize stations, press ENTER to confirm.
    • MENU < SW Version >: shows the current software version.
    • MENU < Language >: you can choose between different interface languages: < English >, < Deutsch >, < Francais >, < Italiano >, press ENTER to confirm.
    • MENU < Factory Reset >: choose between < Yes > or < No >, press ENTER to confirm. Note that factory reset erases all preset memorized: FM, DAB, Bluetooth, SD card and USB pendrive.

SCAN button

  • Short press to starts the auto scanning the FM band for all available stations and store them in the preset memories P1 to P40.

  • Long press cancels the auto scanning.
    ▼T ▲T buttons

  • Short press skips to the next or previous 5MHz receiving frequency.

  • Long press starts automatic scanning. Scanning stops when it reaches a station with a good signal.

MEM button

Press it to memorize stations:

  • Use ▼T or T▲ to select desired station.
  • Press MEM to enter memory mode.
  • Press ▼MEM or MEM▲ to select from preset P1 to preset P40.
  • Press MEM again to memorize the preset.
    • ▼MEM MEM▲ buttons
  • Press them to recall the previous or next preset from P1 to P40.

M1 ~ M10 buttons

  • Short press recalls the stations from P1 to P10 memorized position.
  • Long press stores the current station into the P1 to P10 memory position.

DAB RADIO OPERATIONS

INF button

  • Short press to display various information of current station.
  • Long press to enter in the setting MENU, press ▼T or T▲ to select different settings, press ENTER to confirm:
    • MENU < Autotune >: Starts the auto scanning of all available DAB stations and store them in alphabetical order (please note them are not stored into preset memories, see further). Press ENTER to confirm.
    • MENU < Manual tune >: In case the auto scan fails to tune a specific DAB station, you can proceed to tune it using manual tuning. Press ▼T or T▲ to set the frequency and store it as specified below.
    • MENU < Prune >: To remove stations that are listed but unavailable.
    • MENU < DRC >: Some DAB broadcasts offer dynamic range compression (DRC). This feature allows radios to compress the dynamic range of the output audio stream, so that the volume of quiet sounds is increased, and the volume of loud sounds is reduced. This can be useful if you are listening to music with a high dynamic range in a noisy environment. Use the ▼T or T▲ buttons to choose between or .
    • MENU < SW Version >: shows the current software version.
    • MENU < Language >: you can choose between different interface languages: < English >, < Deutsch >, < Francais >, < Italiano >, press ENTER to confirm.
    • MENU < Factory Reset >: choose between < Yes > or < No >, press ENTER to confirm. Note that factory reset erases all preset memorized: FM, DAB , Bluetooth, SD card and USB pendrive.

SCAN button
Starts the auto scanning of all available DAB stations and store them in alphabetical order (please note them are not stored into preset memories, see further).

▼T ▲T buttons
Press to skip to the next or previous DAB station stored in alphabetical order.

MEM button
Press it to memorize stations:

  • Use ▼T or T▲ to select desired DAB station.
  • Press MEM to enter memory mode.
  • Press ▼MEM or MEM▲ to select from preset P1 to preset P40.
  • Press MEM again to memorize the preset.
    • ▼MEM MEM▲ buttons
  • Press them to recall the previous or next preset from P1 to P40.

M1 ~ M10 buttons

  • Short press recalls the stations from P1 to P10 memorized position.
  • Long press stores the current station into the P1 to P10 memory position.

BLUETOOTH OPERATIONS
After selecting the Bluetooth source using the MODE button, the display will show:

  • “BLUE” and “Waiting Pair…” if there is no Bluetooth device connected or
  • “BLUE” and “Connected” if a previously connected Bluetooth device is in proximity.

To connect a new Bluetooth device you have to choose “BLUE” in the list of the Bluetooth devices that appears in your external device. If it does not appear, probably you have another device in proximity that is already connected: disconnect it and try again.

Buttons
To operate play, pause, previous track, next track for the Bluetooth device, you can also use the controls included in your Bluetooth device.

SD CARD and USB PENDRIVE OPERATIONS

  • Button
    Press to play the current selected track, pressing it again the track is paused till it is pressed again.

  • STOP button
    Press to stop playing. The stop unlike the pause will restart the track from the beginning if you press play later.

  • REV button
    Short press to start playing at the beginning of the previous track. Long press to reverse fast the current track.

  • FWD button
    Short press to start playing at the beginning of the next track. Long press to forward fast the current track.

  • 1 ~ 9 buttons
    Selects the track from its numeral (all tracks are numbered in alphabetical order of folders and names).

  • FOLDER + / FOL ►► button
    Skips to the next folder and plays the first track into it.

  • FOLDER / FOL ◄◄ button
    Skips to previous folder and plays the first track into it.

  • REP/RAN button
    Repeat and Random key:

    • Press once, display shows “R-1”: Repeats current playing song.
    • Press 2 times, display shows “R-F”: Repeats all songs in the folder.
    • Press 3 times, display shows “R-A”: Repeats all songs.
    • Press 4 times, display shows “RAN”: Play tracks in random order.
    • Press again to cancel function.
  • MUTE button
    Press to mute, press again to unmute.

  • PROG button
    To memorize a program set of tracks.

    • Press PROG, the display shows “PR-00”. Use ◄◄, ►► I buttons to select the song, then press PROG to memorize this track: the display will show “PR-01”. Repeat the above steps to store more tracks.
    • When the last track is memorized to play the program set, press ►II, the display shows “PG-nn” and then starts to play the program set.
    • Press PROG again to cancel the tracks program set.
  • SINGLE button
    Single track playing:

    • While playing a track press SINGLE once, the display shows “SG1”, the device turns to pause mode after current track is finished playing, then the display shows next track.
    • Press ►I and the device plays the displayed track, then pauses again.
    • Press SINGLE again to cancel single track playing.
  • CARD MEMORY button
    This button is able to memorize up to 10 tracks, it operates during play mode only:

    • Press CARD MEMORY to enter memory mode. The display shows “HOT KEY>nn”.
    • Use FOLDER + or – FOLDER, or buttons to select desired track.
    • Long press 0~9 buttons to memorize desired track: the display shows memorized track# in the HOT KEY 0~9 buttons.
    • Directly press 0~9 buttons to play memorized track.
    • To leave memory setting mode, press CARD MEMORY button again.
  • A > B button
    It can be used to play repeatedly a desiderate portion of a track, it operates during play mode only:

    • Press once to fix the play start point of a track. The display shows “A>” flashing.
    • Press again to fix the play end point of a track. The display shows “A>B” and the device repeats the track from A to B point.
    • Press it again to cancel A>B function. On the display “A>B” disappear.

IR REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
The IR REMOTE CONTROL UNIT has all the same buttons of the main unit, so it has the same operating functions as described above. However, compared the main unit there are some additional buttons present only in the remote control.

  • VOLUME –
    It decreases the volume of the output.

  • VOLUME +
    It increases the volume of the output.

Note that the VOLUME buttons are present only on the REMOTE CONTROL and the set volume is maintained even if the main unit is turned off and on again. So be careful not to set the volume to 0 and lose your REMOTE CONTROL or let its batteries run out.

  • POWER
    It switches OFF the unit immediately. Pressing it again the unit switch on again, alternatively you can use the POWER switch on the front panel to switch off and on again.

  • REPLACE BATTERY

    • To open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control, press the tab on the cover and pull it out.
    • Place a new battery, battery type is CR2025 3V with its positive upward.96MAN0168
