How to delete your Siri history

Learn how to delete your Siri and Dictation interaction history.

When you use Siri and Dictation, the things you say and dictate—as well as other Siri Data—are sent to Apple to process your requests. Your requests are associated with a random identifier that is not linked to your Apple ID, email address, or other data that Apple may have from your use of other Apple services. Learn more about Ask Siri, Dictation and privacy.

How to delete your Siri request history

iOS 13.2, iPadOS 13.2, watchOS 6.1, tvOS 13.2, and macOS Catalina 10.15.1 and later include the ability to delete Siri and Dictation interactions that are associated with a random identifier for a device and retained for six months or less.*

After you install the software updates, follow these instructions on each device for which you’d like to delete Siri and Dictation history.

  • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings, go to Siri & Search, and tap Siri & Dictation History. Then tap Delete Siri & Dictation History.
  • On your Apple Watch, go to Settings, tap Siri, and tap Siri & Dictation History. Then tap Delete Siri & Dictation History
  • On your Apple TV, go to Settings, tap General, and tap Siri History. Then tap Delete Siri & Dictation History.
  • On a HomePod, go to HomePod settings in the Home app and tap Siri History. Then tap Delete Siri History.
  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences and click Siri. Then click Delete Siri & Dictation History.

*Deleting Siri and Dictation history deletes only requests that are associated with the random identifier. Your request history is associated with the random identifier for up to six months. After six months, your request history is dissociated from the random identifier and may be retained for up to two years to help Apple develop and improve Siri, Dictation, and other language processing features like Voice Control. The small subset of requests that have been reviewed may be kept beyond two years, without the random identifier, for ongoing improvement of Siri.
