DESCRIPTION

DIVA12A and DIVA15A are digitally processed active loudspeaker systems featuring multiple inputs and a versatile BLUETOOTH connectivity. Hosted in lightweight yet ultra-durable polypropylene cabinets with ergonomic handles, they combine selected transducers driven by a 1000W CLASS-D amplifier with high headroom and a sophisticated dynamic control for the maximum undistorted output power. The pre-amp section includes an advanced processing with high- performance DSP engine and linear phase FIR filters for a very smooth response and high-definition sound. A user’s interface with LCD color display and single-knob control is available for a quick selection and display of the 5 available EQ presets. Thanks to the built-in 3-channel mixer with MIC/GUITAR/LINE input selection, HIGH and LOW EQ controls and two WIRELESS USB inputs for the use of PROEL U24 microphone systems, DIVA12A and DIVA15A can be used in a variety of applications without external equipment. The BLUETOOTH interface allows to reproduce audio in mono streaming with a single speaker or in stereo streaming using two speakers and the STEREO LINK (TWS) function.

MAIN PANEL OPERATIONS

  1. CH1 / CH2 INPUT CONNECTOR
This is a COMBO connector that accepts an XLR plug or a JACK plug from any balanced or unbalanced dynamic microphone or line level device or instrument.
The balanced XLR input is wired as follows:

    • Pin 1 = shield or ground

    • Pin 2 = + positive or “hot”

    • Pin 3 = – negative or “cold”
The balanced JACK input is wired as follows:

    • Tip = + positive or “hot”

    • Ring = – negative or “cold”

    • Sleeve = shield or ground
The unbalanced JACK input is wired as follows:

    • Tip = + positive or “hot”

    • Sleeve = shield or ground

  2. CH1 / CH2 INPUT SELECTOR
This selector allows to choose the most appropriate input impedance and gain setting for the sound source device connected at the input connector. Choose the proper setting among the following:

    • MIC: Select this position if a dynamic microphone is connected.
    • GUITAR: Select this position if an instrument with high impedance pick-up is connected, typically electric guitars or electric bass instruments.
    • LINE: Select this position if an instrument or another player or mixer with low impedance line level output is connected.
  3. CH1 / CH2 LEVEL
This potentiometer sets the level of CH1 / CH2 channels and of WIRELESS 1 / 2.

  4. WIRELESS 1 / 2
These inputs are reserved for using PROEL U24H or U24B 2.4GHz USB Wireless Microphone. NOTE: when using the wireless microphones, it is preferable to disconnect any MIC/GUITAR/LINE device from the respective channel.

  5. CH3 LINE IN (MINI JACK)
This is a MINI JACK (3.5mm) female connector that accepts a STEREO MINI JACK plug from Computer / CD / DVD / MP3 players. The MINI JACK is wired as follows:
Tip = positive signal of left channel
Ring = positive signal of right channel
    Sleeve = shield or ground

  6. CH3 LEVEL
This potentiometer sets the level of the CH3 LINE IN input or the built-in BLUETOOTH Player.

    • NOTE: when using the BLUETOOTH, it is preferable to disconnect any device from the mini-jack input.
  7. PAIR
Use this button to pair your Bluetooth player with the DIVA speaker.

    • For the first time pairing press and hold this button until its LED is flashing. In your Bluetooth player choose the DIVA12A/DIVA15A device: if the pairing is successful the LED lights steadily and the DIVA12A/DIVA15A appears in the list of the paired device of your Bluetooth player. Now you can play music using your favourite app and you can adjust the level using the CH3 level potentiometer and the volume level in your Bluetooth player.
    • When you power down and turn on again the DIVA speaker the Bluetooth connection is not automatically restored, but simply pressing again the PAIR button for few seconds the latest Bluetooth device, if it is within the range and turned on, will be reconnected.
    • Use this button also to connect the second DIVA speaker to build a stereo system as specified in the STEREO LINK instructions.
    • To disconnect the DIVA speaker simply press and hold this button until the correspondent LED lights off. Note that disconnecting a device doesn’t mean unpair it.
    • To unpair your device you must access the BLUETOOTH menu of the device itself.
    • NOTE: The Bluetooth connection maximum range is about 10-15 m (30-50 feet) with outright sight. Each time you turn off the speaker you have to press and hold this button to restore the connection.
  8. STEREO LINK

    • Use this button to link two DIVA loudspeakers to a Bluetooth device to serve as a stereo system. The first speaker will play the LEFT channel while the second will play the RIGHT channel:
    • Connect the first DIVA speaker to the Bluetooth device following the PAIRING procedure above. This speaker will play initially both channels and only after the procedure is completed it will play the LEFT channel only.
    • In the first DIVA speaker press the STEREO LINK button until its blue LED is flashing.
    • In the second DIVA speaker (RIGHT channel) press the PAIR button until the green LED is flashing.
    • In the second DIVA speaker (RIGHT channel) press the STEREO LINK button so that the blue LED starts flashing. After a few seconds, if the second speaker is within the range of the first speaker, the STEREO connection is established and the blue LED is permanently on in both speakers. Now the first DIVA speaker plays the LEFT channel and the second DIVA speaker plays the RIGHT channel.
    • NOTE: the STEREO LINK Bluetooth connection maximum range is also about 10-15 m (30-50 feet) with outright sight.
    • NOTE: every time you turn off the speakers you must repeat this procedure to restore the STEREO LINK connection.
  9. OUTPUT (XLR)

    • This male XLR connector provides a balanced line-level signal with the signal of the inputs picked up before the MASTER and EQ controls, with the option to choose between the mix of the three inputs or only the first channel using the upper switch. Connect it to the input of another audio system or powered speaker.
  10. MIX OUT / CH1 LINK SWITCH
This switch selects the signal to be sent to the output connector. It can be chosen between the mix of the three inputs before the MASTER and EQ controls (MIX OUT) or directly the CH1 input signal without the level control (CH1 LINK).
NOTE: when using two or more DIVA speakers connected in series using the OUTPUT connector the linked speakers must be connected using CH1 input with its sensitivity set as LINE.

  11. EQ HIGH
This knob sets the HIGH TONE level: if rotated clockwise it enhances the high frequencies if rotated counter clockwise it reduces the high frequencies. The LCD displays both the EQ gain and the EQ response curve.

  12. EQ LOW
This knob sets the LOW TONE level: if rotated clockwise it enhances the low frequencies, if rotated counter clockwise it reduces the low frequencies. The LCD displays both the EQ gain and the EQ response curve.PROEL-DIVA12A-
Active-Loudspeaker-fig-3

    • NOTE: the figures above show the EQ curves at minimum and maximum of their ranges that is +/-12dB.
  13. MASTER
This knob usually sets the master level of all signals sent to the internal amplifier. The range of the attenuation starts from 0dB to -80dB (practically muted). When pressed, it allows to access the DSP functions such as mode selection and system configuration. Press and dial to toggle between VOL / MODE / CONFIG / INFO, then press again to access the available options.
