Dear customers, thank you very much for purchasing one of our Uniteck products. Please read carefully and thoroughly all the instructions before using the product.

DESCRIPTION

UNIPOWER PRO is a high performance current inverter 12V/230V or 24V/230V according to the model. In this way, it transforms continuous current (12V or 24V according to the models) of your battery in 230V – 50 Hz alternative current.

The maximum continuous power (at 30°C) is:

  •  840W for UNIPOWER 800.12 PRO
  • 1200W for UNIPOWER 1200.12 PRO
  • 1800W for UNIPOWER 1800.12 PRO
  • 2400W for UNIPOWER 2400.12 PRO
  • 3600W for UNIPOWER 3600.12 PRO
  • 840W for UNIPOWER 800.24 PRO
  • 1200W for UNIPOWER 1200.24 PRO
  • 1800W for UNIPOWER 1800.24 PRO
  • 2400W for UNIPOWER 2400.24 PRO
  • 3600W for UNIPOWER 3600.24 PRO

Thanks to its integrated microprocessor, UNIPOWER PRO delivers a perfectly stable power with the samequality as the electrical grid (pure sine wave). Thus, it can supply all electronic and electric devices, eventhe most sensitive ones (neon, plasma screens, computers…)
UNIPOWER PRO range was designed to respond to industrial and domestical needs, with the highest comfort, security and reliability requirements.
Its light weight and its compactness make this device the ideal product for applications such as campervans, commercial cars, sailing and motor boats.
Smart, it can be switched on or off thanks to :

  • Its main switch situated on the front part of the device
  • Its remote control (option)
  • An external signal from the battery positive terminal
  • An other electrical signal (dry contact)

Equipped with an automatic « stand by » mode (eco mode), UNIPOWER PRO inverter reduces your selfconsumption significantly, for more electrical autonomy (only 1AH of selfconsumption per day compared with between 20AH to 40AH per day for a standard model without eco mode).
Unlike most products on the market, UNIPOWER PRO is protected against battery polarity reversal.

WARNING AND ADVICE

GENERAL

  • UNIPOWER PRO was designed for an indoor use.

  • Use UNIPOWER PRO in a well-ventilated room, away from the rain, humidity, dust and condensation.

  • During its operation, the inverter may become hot. Keep it away from any flammable material.

  • Please follow the battery manufacturer’s safety instructions. In case of any doubt, consult your detailer or installer.

  • The batteries can produce flammable gas. Keep away from any flames or sparks.

  • While moving the battery, acid can be spilled. Protect yourself.

  • Never short-circuit positive and negative battery terminals or cables. Risk of explosion or fire.

  • Any operation must be realized in accordance with the country’s electricity prevailing regulations.

  • The equipment used in your installation such as connectors, cables, fuses, disconnectors, etc. must be in compliance with the laws and regulations in force in the country for the application in question.

  • This device is not designed to be used by people (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental abilities are reduced, nor by people lacking experience or knowledge unless they have benefited supervision or prior instructions concerning the use of the device from a person responsible for their safety.

  • Please keep careful watch over children to ensure that they do not play with the device.
Place and use the device out of their reach.

  • This document is an integral part of the product. In case of passing it on to someone else, give this document. It must also be available for any people working on the installation.

SAFETY

  • An incorrect assembly can damage the product, cause a dysfunction, or put the users in danger.
  • During function, the device generates high voltage which can be dangerous in case of contact.
  • After disconnecting the battery, the 230V output voltage remains during one more minute. Do not use the product during this period.
  • Installation and maintenance must be realized exclusively by a person with electrical skills and authorized to work on this type of product.

STORAGE

  • Store the device in a dry place. Humidity must be less than 95% (without condensation). Storage temperature must be between -30°C and +70°C.

FIXING – INSTALLATION

To ensure a good circulation of air, necessary for the inverter to cool down, fix it in a vertical position, and make sur to keep a free space of at least 30cm around the product.
The room must be well ventilated, away from the rain, humidity, dust and condensation.

BATTERY CONNECTION

CABLES AND FUSES SIZE
DC cables (battery – inverter) must be as short as possible. Do not exceed 1,8 meter.
In order to avoid a voltage drop higher than 5% when the product is used at a high power (and avoid that the inverter is placed in protection mode), DC cables must be of sufficient cross section.
The “Low Battery” protection can intervene if the voltage drop is excessive between the battery and the converter.
DC cables must be of the proper color: red for the positive cable, black for the negative one.
In order to protect your installation, especially in case of a short-circuit, use a DC ultra fast fuse on the positive cable placed as close as possible to the battery.
Here is the table to select your cables cross section and the fuse to use between the battery and the inverter.

DC CABLES CONNECTION

  • Make sure that the AC switch is placed on OFF (0 position).
  • Your power inverter must not be used in the case of a vehicle having the positive pole connected to the chassis.
  • Use isolated tools in order to avoid putting the battery or the cables in shortcircuit.
  • Use only copper cables.
  • Do not use cables containing aluminium.
  • In order to protect your installation against overcharges that could cause fire, protect the  positive line with a fuse.
  • Connect DC 12V positive terminals with the red cable, and the negative ones with the black one.
  • Make sure that the tightening torque is respected, between 11.7 and 13 Nm. A bad connection can cause an overheat and a risk of fire.

ELECTRICAL COMPATIBILITY

Before any use, it is important to check the compatibility of your device with your UNIPOWER PRO inverter. The following table lists the powers and start up coefficients of different electric and electronic devices as well  as the most appropriated sine wave. Indeed, while connecting some devices (for example a drill, a refrigerator, etc…), the start up power is often superior to the power indicated on the identification plate. If the inverter cannot supply the current inrush at start up, it will put itself in protection.

ECO MODE : SWITCHES 4 AND 5
Eco mode is an energy saving system. Once activated, and when the current charge detected is lower than 5W during 10 seconds, the inverter turns into standby mode and reduces its selfconsumption to less than 1W against between 15 to 40W in normal mode.

Eco mode 4 5
Enabled ON 0
Disabled (default setting) 0 ON

To activate Eco mode, put switch n°4 on ON position, ON, and switch n°5 on 0 position.
Note : When Eco mode is activated, UNIPOWER PRO limits its power at 80%. This mode is not adapted for electrical devices with a higher power. If your load has inrush current, please turn off
Eco Mode. If not, the inverter will stop and turn into protection mode.
To disable Eco Mode, place switch n°4 on 0 position and switch n°5 on ON position.
Switches n°4 and n°5 must always be in the opposite position.
SWITCH N°6 : For a proper operating, do not change switch n°6 standard settings (ON).

WARNING VIA  A DRY CONTACT

It is possible to turn on an external alarm such as a led indicator or an audible alarm when an alarm is emitted by your UNIPOWER PRO inverter.
The maximum power of the alarm is 60W.

Once the connection has been made, put the switch on “remote” to enable the remote mode.

REMOTE CONTROL – VIA THE REMOTE CONTROL OPTION

CONNECTION

  • Connect the cable to the remote control (back side) and to its dedicated port situated on the back side of your inverter.

Once the connection has been made, put the switch on “remote” to enable the remote mode. To switch off the inverter, keep the remote ON/OFF button pressed during 2 seconds.
