FAQs

Is the Battery level announcing an annoying voice

I guess it depends on what you consider annoying. The only time you will hear it is either if it’s low or if you push the button to check for battery level. When it’s really low, it will say “charge me” in a rather annoying kind of witchy voice. When you check the battery level it says “battery level high” or medium or low in the same voice. Personally, I don’t like the voice, but other people apparently don’t find her that annoying.

Do the sides allow space for behind-the-ear hearing aids?

I have behind-the-ear hearing aids, works well with them only drawback is it can be uncomfortable/annoying after all day. This is the only type of headphones that i can use and also use hearing aids at same time. They are the best option i am aware of. Also I’ve had a pair of these for over 2 yrs. working construction and i only need to replace them because my kids lost them.

How many devices can connect at the same time?

Two at a time, but I haven’t had success with the function. Multipoint will not change the audio from one device to another. For example, I can have my laptop connected so I can take virtual meetings but when I’m not using its audio it will not play the audio from my phone. However, if I am on laptop audio and a call comes in it does interrupt the laptop so I can take the phone call. Which can be annoying if I’m on a conference call, but might be okay if I was just listening to videos etc.

If they do not fit with hearing aids are they returnable?

I wear BTE Hearing Aids and these are the only Headphones I will wear. I can still wear my hearing aids, listen to music, and hear all the other sounds around me. The biggest plus is these do not go in the ear. I use them when I go long distance walking.

Can people around you hear your music?

No, not unless I have it at max volume and the person is right next to me. But max volume would be painful and would make such a vibration, you couldn’t stand it. It’s such a different experience feeling the sound rather than hearing the sound. Don’t hesitate, get them!

Will this fit over the ear if i have on glasses?

Absolutely. I recommend putting them on, then the glasses. It seems to work better for me that way. The arms of the glasses fit under the headphone bow nicely.

Maybe a silly question, if I were to wear these during a flight, would people near me be able to hear what I’m listening to? Would it disturb people?

Yeah, these might not be great on a flight. Not for the other passengers, anyway. My wife can hear my calls and music across the room. Not clearly, but enough to tell that there’s something playing. If I’m listening to music and lay them on the desk and walk away, I can still hear it just fine.

Will moderately thick sideburns degrade the sound quality?

not at all. I am guessing that your sideburns aren’t growing into your ear canal.

As a side sleeper, can one use this while side-sleeping with these on?

If you’re going to be sleeping or watching TV with the back of your head against the pillow, the pillow is going to push on the back of your head pushing on the back ring of the headset. It ends up pushing on your ears and shifting the side pieces away from where they need to be. Tried this with the aeropex version.

Rain resistant?

The IP rating for these is IP55. The most dust /water resistant something can be is IP68 (6=dust; 8=water resistant). Based on the IP rating, occasional rain should be fine. That being said, you also have to account for how much sweat you are getting on them, if your hair is getting them wet or if it’s extremely humid. Those things add up over time and can corrode the inside.

What is their warranty?

AfterShokz offers a two-year warranty on all headphones in most countries. China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan offer a one-year warranty. Your warranty begins with your purchase date. Should you need to file a claim and receive a replacement unit, the warranty will continue from your original purchase date. Your warranty covers manufacturer defects. It does not cover abuse, misuse, loss, or theft.

What app do i need to install?

No app is required. Just blue tooth needs to be active then pair and you’re good to go! It’s simple and the headset is amazing!

if they are made by the same company as aeroplex, what is the difference between the two besides the price tag?

Beats me not familiar with airplanes.

Can these headphones connect to a smart TV?

They connect awesomely with my amazon fire TV!!

Do these headphones have a built-in memory space?

No, stream from the device only. They are amazing headphones though. My best purchase of the year so far.
