  • This device can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device.  Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • If the external flexible cable or cord of this device is damaged, it shall be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or his service agent.

  • This power supply is intended only to be used in connection with information technology equipment and/or equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use and/or audio, video, and/or similar electronic apparatus.

  • Always connect the device to a grounded circuit to avoid the risk of electrocution.

  • Do not disassemble or open the cover of this appliance under any circumstances.
    Touching live wires can cause life-threatening electric shocks. Apart from the fuse, there are no user-serviceable parts.

  • This appliance will heat up during use. Make sure the ventilation openings are clear at all times. For sufficient air circulation, create a 25 mm clearance in front of the ventilation openings. Ensure the appliance is installed on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Do not place the appliance on carpet, fabric, or any other flammable surface.

  • Always disconnect the appliance from the mains’ power when not in use. Handle the power cable by the plug only.

  •  Keep this appliance away from dust and extreme temperatures.

  •  Avoid brute force when operating the device. Do not drop it.

  •  Immediately discontinue use if you notice any damage to the appliance or cables. Do not attempt to repair any damage yourself.

General Guidelines

  • Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
  • All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
  • Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorized way will void the warranty.
  • Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
  • Nor Velleman NV nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage (extraordinary, incidental, or indirect) – of any nature (financial, physical…) arising from the possession, use, or failure of this product.
  • Keep this manual for future reference.

# Function Description
1 voltage display indicates the output voltage
2 current display indicates the output current
3 + output used for the connection of the load’s positive terminal
4 – output used for the connection of the load’s negative terminal
5 on-off switch
6 current knob rotary switch for the adjustment of the output current
7 voltage knob rotary switch for the adjustment of the output voltage

Operation

  • If you want to use the unit as a stable voltage supply, set the current knob to maximum clockwise. Then switch on the unit and set the voltage knob to the required voltage.
  • If you want to use the unit as a stable current supply, turn the unit on, set the voltage knob to the maximum clockwise and the current knob to the minimum counterclockwise. Connect the load and set the current knob to the required current.
  • If you want to use the unit as a stable voltage supply, you can set the protection point of the current limit randomly. Set the current knob on the minimum counterclockwise. Then, short-circuit the output terminals and set the current knob clockwise.
  • Set the output current to the required limited current point.
  • For more accuracy, connect an external high-accuracy meter.

Notes

  • This unit is short-circuit protected. If a short circuit should occur, turn the power supply off and solve the problem.
  • The unit can get very hot when you are using a high-power output.
  • If the unit is defective, the output may rise over the maximum rated voltage.
    Always keep an eye on the load to prevent damage.

Care and Maintenance

  • Before starting any cleaning or maintenance activities:
    o, Unplug the device’s power cord from the outlet.
    o, Let the device cool down.

  • There are no user-serviceable parts, apart from the fuse. Contact your dealer for spare parts if necessary.

  • The power supply cables must not show any damage. Have a qualified technician maintain the device.

Cleaning

  • Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents.
  • Use normal glass cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe off the outside casing.
  • Do not immerse the device in any liquid.

Storage

  • Store the device in a dry, well-ventilated, dust-free room.

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

  • All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.

  • Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion.
    You will be delivered a replacement article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery,  or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

  • Not covered by warranty:
    – all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity…), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits; – consumable goods, parts or accessories that are subject to an aging process during normal use, such as batteries (rechargeable, non-rechargeable, built-in or replaceable), lamps, rubber parts, drive belts… (unlimited list);
    – flaws resulting from fire, water damage, lightning, accident, natural disaster, etc.…;
    – flaws caused deliberately, negligently, or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use, or use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions;
    – damage caused by a commercial, professional or collective use of the article (the warranty validity will be reduced to six (6) months when the article is used professionally);
    – damage resulting from inappropriate packing and shipping of the article;
    – all damage caused by modification, repair, or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.

  • Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.

  • Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please re-read the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.

  • Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.

  • The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
    The above enumeration is subject to modification according to the article (see article’s manual).
