Will this interfere with a pacemaker?
The Frontier X2 has not gone through official safety testing for use with pacemakers, however, we have several users that have reported using it with pacemakers with no issues as far as we know. The Frontier X2 emits Bluetooth radiation, similar to a smartphone.
What size chest will the chest strap fit?
The chest straps are of a standard size that come with an adjustable band which can extend to a total of approximately 60 inches when fully extended.
Can this notify you in real time if you are having a fib? it would be great even if i was sleeping it would tell me that i’m in afib
Frontier X2 is not a medical device and is not intended for medical diagnosis. That being said, The Frontier X2 Rhythm Analysis Feature helps detect and identify any heart rhythm deviations from Normal Sinus Rhythm (the typical rhythm of the heart). Beyond identifying the presence of other rhythms, it also helps you understand how long, how often, and at which moments you may be experiencing these rhythm changes.
Does the X2 come with the lifetime subscription when purchased through Amazon?
Yes, when purchased on Amazon the Frontier X2 comes with lifetime subscription.
Is this also valuable for someone getting back into shape from a deconditioned state?
The monitor does a great job measuring workload based on a person’s unique metrics of the heart. For some people, 10 minute run may be the warm-up, and others may not be able to run for 10 minutes. All of this can be measured in the cardiac strain feature. There is also a recommendation for the following days workout based off of the most recent workout.
If i purchase this on amazon does it still come with the 30-day risk free trial advertised on the fourth frontier website?
The device is eligible for a return, refund or replacement within 30 days from the date of receipt.
Can it monitor your heart continously while you sleep as well?
Yes, of course! It’s actually really comfortable. We have quite a few users to wear the device while sleeping to capture sleep data. You can capture data for up to 24 hours.
How detailed are the reports? Can this be used by a physician?
Each recording has graphs for EKG, heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, training load, body shock and step cadence. It also provides a summary with minimum, average and maximum values for each metric. The data integrates with Garmin, Apple watch or Smartphone GPS to provide speed distance altitude and route map for outdoor activities. They are quite detailed. The Frontier X2 is not a medical device and is not meant for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. All the data provided is for informational purposes only.
Does it measure oxygen levels?
No. It’s not an Oxygen monitor
Does this require a monthly service contract? The company’s website indicates different monthly plans. Is a monthly plan needed for device to work?
The monthly subscription plans have now been discontinued. With the purchase of the Frontier X2, you now get lifetime access to the features of the device and access to the data on the web dashboard and mobile application.
Can I view the output (at least heart rate) on my Garmin 830 computer while riding my bike?
Yes, the Frontier X2 will connect to the Garmin 830 computer. The Frontier X2 connects to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices and if the device you are looking to connect to supports connectivity through BLE sensors, it will connect.
What arrhythmias will it detect?
At this point, the device does not inform you of the type of arrhythmia but refers to all arrhythmias as “other”. I do not believe you can set up to get an alert when you have an arrhythmia but you can definitely see it in real time on the monitor. I recommend messaging Fourth Frontier on their website. Their customer service is top-notch.
Is it waterproof to wear while swimming?
Yes, it has an IP67 waterproof rating. P67 represents one of the highest levels of protection offered by an IP rating. This rating provides: Complete protection against ingress of dust and airborne particles. Protection against water and liquids, up to and including immersion in up to one meter of water.
