FAULTS AND SOLUTIONS
FAULT DIAGNOSTIC GUIDE
- The refrigerator does not work, the light does not work:
- The appliance is not plugged in
- The switch is in the off position.
- The bulb is burned out
- The refrigerator is not cold enough:
- Thermostat temperature not set correctly.
- The external environment may require a higher setting.
- The door is opened too often, or the door is not completely closed.
- The door seal is not tight enough.
- There is not enough space between the appliance and the rear and side walls.
- The refrigerator seems to be making too much noise:
- The rustling may come from the flow of the refrigerant, which is normal.
- At the end of each cycle, you may hear gurgling sounds due to the flow of refrigerant through your appliance.
- Contraction and expansion of the interior walls may cause crackling and popping noises.
- Unit is not level.
Remark :
- Avoid placing the device in damp places. If there is too much humidity in the air, frost will quickly form on the evaporator.
- During periods of high relative humidity, condensation may form on the surface of the refrigerator. It is not a malfunction. Clean the surface. If the refrigerator does not operate correctly after all these checks, contact the technical service without further delay.
- Keep the invoice or proof of purchase of the product to be able to use the guarantee. For any questions during use, please contact your store.
COLDEST ZONE OF THE REFRIGERATOR
- The symbol opposite indicates the location of the coldest zone of your refrigerator. This zone is delimited at the bottom by the window of the vegetable drawer, and at the top by the symbol or the shelf positioned at the same height.
- In order to guarantee the temperatures in this zone, take care not to change the position of this shelf. In forced-air refrigerators (equipped with a fan or No Frost models), the symbol of the coldest zone is not represented because the temperature inside them is homogeneous.
INSTALLING THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE
- To help you properly adjust your refrigerator, it is equipped with a temperature indicator that will allow you to monitor the average temperature in the coldest zone.
- CAUTION : This indicator is designed to work only with your refrigerator, be careful not to use it in another refrigerator (indeed, the coldest area is not the same), or for any other use.
CHECKING THE TEMPERATURE IN THE COLDEST ZONE
- Thanks to the temperature indicator, you can regularly check that the temperature of the coldest zone is correct. Indeed, the temperature inside the refrigerator is a function of several factors such as the ambient temperature of the room, the quantity of stored foodstuffs, the frequency of opening the door. Take these factors into consideration when setting up the device.
- When the indicator shows “OK”, it means that your thermostat is correctly adjusted, and that the indoor temperature is correct.
- If the indicator color is white, it means the temperature is too high, in this case, increase the thermostat setting and wait 12 hours to carry out a new visual check of the indicator.
- After loading or opening the door, the indicator may become white after a few moments.
Tips – Energy saving
- Install the appliance in a cool, dry and suitably ventilated room.
- Take care not to expose the device to direct sunlight and never place it near a direct heat source (near a radiator, for example).
- Never block the ventilation holes or grilles of the device.
- Allow food to cool before placing it in the appliance.
- Place frozen products in the refrigerator to thaw them.
- The low temperature of frozen products will help cool the food in the refrigerator.
- Defrost freezer when ice builds up. A thick layer of ice risks altering the transfer of cold to the frozen products and thus increasing the appliance’s energy consumption.
- Do not leave the appliance doors open for too long when putting food in or removing food from the appliance.
- The less ice will form in the freezer if you leave the door open for as short a time as possible.
- When you freeze food or want to store it in the freezer, place it directly in the upper freezer compartment.
