Congratulations!You are now the proud owner of a fine timepicce. It has been
carefully designed and crafted to give you years of dependable operation. Read
this booklet thoroughly before assembling and operating your clock in order to
become familiar with its many features and assure proper performance. Keep
these instructions in a safe place for future reference.
ATTENTION
In order to ensure that your clock is stable, adjust the levelers at the
bottom of the clock. As an added safety feature, a support strap has been
provided that is fixed to the top of the clock and must be attached to the

HOW TO ASSEMBLE YOUR CLOCK CABINET

Carefully unpack all parts and compare each item to the following list to be sure you have everything required.

Place the BASE UNIT (G) near its final position but leave it away from the wall until the assembly is finished.

While facing the front of the BASE UNIT (G), fit SIDE PANEL B into the grooves on the left side of the clock base and attach it fiom the inside with SCREWS and the FLAT WASHERS using a Phillips head screwdriver. See Figure 1. Repeat the process using SIDE PANEL C on the right side of the base.

Fit the BACK PANEL (D) into the grooves of the side panels at the back of the cabinet and the base unit (Figure 2).

Place the TOP UNIT (A) on top of the side panels. Be sure to keep the side panels straight while working (Figure 3). Attach the top unit with the four remaining screws and washers in the same manner as you attached the side panels to the base cabinet.

Place one of each of the 3 SHELVES (E) on the tabs already installed in the interior side of the panels. Set the BASE PLATE (F) at the bottom most point inside the cabinet, resting it on top of the base unit.
NOTE: At this point the cabinet is assembled. -
The clock can be aligned through adjusting the four feet at the bottom.
TIME AND CHIME SETTING:
This timepiece plays a Westminster chime melody on the hour and has an
automatic shut-off. The clock does not chime between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.
o ensure that your clock functions correctly, please follow the time and chime
setting precisely. The clock will chime during the day and will automatically
turn off at night.

Pull upwards the back panel of the Top Unit.

Before inserting batteries, set the clock at 6:05 am ( 5 minutes past 6:00 ) with knob A. See Figure 4.

Insert 1AA alkaline battery into the clock battery chamber, according to the positive (+) and negative (-symbols.

Tnsert 2 AA alkaline batteries into chime battery chamber, according to the positive (+) and negative (-) Symbols. Make sure the batteries are secure in the holder. The clock will chime automatically and toll 6 times.

Now turn hands (using knob A) slowly to the present hour in a clockwise direction. Remember that the clock started at 6:05 in the morning. If setting at night, lets say 9:20 pm, then the hands will be turned thus 7.8,9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 then 9:20. The last strike you hear will be 9 times.
NOTE: When moving hands to the present time, the clock will begin chiming. Do 1ot be concerned about this. The last strike you hear after setting the clock at the appointed time will be the correct one.

When replacing batteries remember that all the prior must be repeated from point one. i. e. the clock must be started again at 6:05 am. Therefore, please do not throw these instructions away as by the time the batteries have to be replaced, you may have forgotten how to set the clock.

To eliminate chimes completely, remove the two batteries from the Chime Battery Chamber.

Never turn clock hands counter-clockwise as it will interrupt the chime sequence and damage the clock.
NOTE: When the batteries are low, the chimes may not remain coordinated with the time on the clock. When this happens replace with new alkaline batteries and reset the clock as above.
ATTENTION:
In order to ensure that your clock is stable, adjust the levelers under the
clock.
As an added safety feature, a support strap has been provded and is fixed to
the top of the clock. It recommended that you attach the clock to the wall
using this strap as shown below. Take note of the wall mounting guide on the
following pages.

Important note:
Using plastic anchors:
These are only suitable for use in masonry walls.
If you are in any doubt about the correct wall anchors for your wall, seek
professional advice.
Failure of the product due to using incorrect fasteners is the responsibility
of the installer.
Important: When drilling into walls, always check that there are no hidden
wires, pipes, etc.
Make sure that the screws and wall anchors being used are suitable for
supporting your unit. Consult a qualified tradesperson if you are unsure.
Hints:
1: General rule: Always use a larger screw and wall anchor if you are not
sure.
2: Ensure you use the recommended drill bit to match the wall anchor and hole
size.
3: Ensure you drill the hole horizontally. Do not force the drill or enlarge
the hole.
4: Take extra care when drilling high walls, ceilings and ceramic tiles.
Ensure wall anchors are inserted beyond the thickness of the ceramic tiles to
avoid the tiles splitting or cracking.
5: Ensure wall plugs are well fitted and are a tight fit in the drilled hole.
Types of walls
You can use one of the following types of wall anchors if your walls are made of brick, breeze block, concrete, stone or wood.
No. 1 “General Purpose’ wall anchor
Generally aerated blocks should not be used to support heavy loads. Use a
specialist fitting in this case. For light loads, general purpose wall plugs
can be used.
No. 2 “Plasterboard” wall anchor
For use when attaching light loads on to plasterboard partitions
No. 3 °Cavity Fixing’ wall anchor
For use with plasterboard partitions or hollow wooden doors.
No. 4 °Cavity Fixing- Heavy Duty° wall anchor
For use when attaching light loads on to plasterboard partitions
No. 5 “Hammer Fixing” wall anchor
For use with walls stuck with plasterboard. The hammer fixing allows it to be
fixed to the wall rather than the plasterboard. Always check the fixing is
secure to the retaining wall.
No. 6 “Shield Anchor” wall anchor (heavy loads)
For use with heavier loads such as TV & HiFi speakers and satellite dishes
etc.
Care & Maintenance
Safety:Always check the fitting and location to ensure your safety in and
around the home.
Fitting: From time to time check the fitting to ensure the wall plugs or
screws do not become loose.
