Candles, gas heater and other oil-burning products create soot. This soot can be distributed thought ventilation system and cause a sudden overload of soot build up on and around your air purifier. For better air quality and less frequent cleaning, avoid burning candles indoors and have gas appliances checked on a regular basis.

The collection grid has many edges and areas that can trap water. If runningwater is used to clean the grid, allow the collecting grid to dry completely. The air purifier complies with current US safety requirement for low ozone emissions for consumer products. We recommend that individuals with history of respiratory disease consult with their doctor about possible heightened sensitivity to very low ozone.

OPERATION AND USE

Operating Instructions

  1. Press power button to turn on the unit. If the unit is powered up the first time, it will turn on at the lowest power level (Silent Mode). Otherwise it will turn on to the previous power level before it was turned off. Crackling sound coming from the unit in the first few minutes of power is normal.
  2. Press the power level button repeatedly to cycle through power levels: silent, low, medium and high. The indicators will light up or turn off respectively. Use low power for small rooms below 150 sq. ft. Use higher power for larger rooms or rooms with lots of circulation.
  3. Press the boost button to start the turbo mode which boosts the power level for 20 minutes after which the unit will resume its previous power level. Use this mode for situations which require high power cleaning for a short period of time. Press this button again anytime to end the Turbo mode and resume the previous level.

NOTE: To activate Silent Mode press power level button until all power level indicator lights are off. This will switch off fans but unit will continue to filter at reduced air flow rate due to electrostatic charged collection array.

MAINTENANCE

CAUTION:
Always be sure that the appliance is unplugged and switched OFF before cleaning, removing filters or attempting to store the item. NEVER PLUG OR UNPLUG UNIT WITH WET HANDS.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. The dust collection array traps the smoke and air-borne particles effectively and should be checked and cleaned frequently. If it has not been checked for two weeks, the indicator will light up to prompt the user to clean. To keep the unit at its optimal performance, please clean it periodically. If the array is too dirty, the unit will shut down automatically and flash the indicator   for a warning.

  2. To remove the collection array, slide down the latch button while gripping the handle and pulling out the array. Wet array with a household cleaner and brush its collector plates with the provided cleaning tool. Then rinse it under warm running water. It is normal that the collection plates get tarnished after operating for some time. The tarnish will not affect the effectiveness of the unit. Dry the array thoroughly before inserting it back into the unit. If the array is still wet, the unit detects the moisture and will run a fan-only drying cycle for two hours before energizing the electrostatic filtering. The Indicator will light up during the drying cycle.

Note: To avoid static discharge, do not touch any metal part of the collector grid when handling it. The discharge is not harmful but is unpleasant. To minimize the chance of static discharge, power down the unit and wait 30 seconds before handling the collector grid.

  3. Use a moistened cloth to clean the outside of the unit.

  4. The front and back grill can be unlatched and removed from the unit. Care should be taken to not damage the ionization emitters. Periodically, use a moistened cloth to clean the ionization emitters. Beware not to break the emitter wires. NEVER USE SOAP OR DETERGENT; ONLY USE WATER.
