Intended Use of Device

TENS
To be used for temporary relief of pain associated with sore and aching muscles in the shoulder, waist, back, neck, upper extremities (arms), and lower extremities (leg) due to strain from exercise or normal household work activities. -
PMS
It is intended to be used to stimulate healthy muscles in order to improve and facilitate muscle performance.

Contraindications
Do not use this device if you have a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted metallic or electronic device. Such use could cause electric shock, burns, electrical interference, or death.
Warnings
- The long-term effects of chronic electrical stimulation are unknown.
- Stimulation should not be applied over the carotid sinus nerve, particularly in patients with a known sensitivity to the carotid sinus reflex.
- Stimulation should not be applied over the neck or mouth. Severe spasms of the laryngeal and pharyngeal muscles may occur and the contractions may be strong enough to close the airway or cause difficulty in breathing.
- Stimulation should not be applied transthoracically in that the introduction of electrical current into the heart may cause cardiac arrhythmias.
- Stimulation should not be applied trans-cerebrally.
- Stimulation should not be applied over swollen, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruptions, e.g., phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, etc.
- Stimulation should not be applied over or in proximity to, cancerous lesions
Precautions
- The safety of this device for use during pregnancy has not been established.
- Caution should be used for patients with suspected or diagnosed heart problems.
- Caution should be used for patients with suspected or diagnosed epilepsy.
- Caution should be used in the presence of the following:
- When there is a tendency to hemorrhage following acute trauma or fracture
- Following recent surgical procedures when muscle contraction may disrupt the healing process;
- Over the menstruating or pregnant uterus;
- Over areas of the skin that lack normal sensation.
- Some patients may experience skin irritation or hypersensitivity due to the electrical stimulation or electrical conductive medium. The irritation can usually be reduced by using an alternate conductive medium, or alternate electrode placement.
- Electrode placement and stimulation settings should be based on the guidance of the prescribing practitioner.
- The device should be kept out of the reach of children.
- The device should be used only with the leads and electrodes recommended for use by the manufacturer.
- This device should not be used while driving, operating machinery, or during any activity in which involuntary muscle contractions may put the user at undue risk of injury.

How to Use the Device
Before using the device, please check the following information carefully:
- Check the pads for any damages or irregularities.
- Check the electrode wires for any damages or irregularities.
- Check the device for any damages.

Step 1: Set up batteries
- Check if the batteries are in good condition
- Remove the battery cover on the back of the device
- Insert batteries. Make sure the “+” “-” sides correspond
- Put the battery cover back.

Step 2: Connect electrode wires with the device.
YK15AB has two independent channels A&B and 4 outputs A1, A2, B1, and B2. Make sure which channels (channel A or B) you want to use before you connect wires to the device.- If you want to use channel A only, please connect wire to outputs A1 A2.
- If you want to use B channel only, please connect wire to outputs B1 B2.
- If you would like to use both A and B channels, please connect wires to all outputs.
- Plug the electrode wire into the output located at the top of the device. Depending on your needs, you may use up to four outputs.
- Ensure that the electrode wires are fully inserted and secured.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 to connect another wire.

Step 3: Connect electrode pads with wires

Each wire has two leads with pin-inserted connectors. Plug the pin-insert wire connectors into the pin-insert pads.

Make sure at least one pair of pads are attached to the same wire.

Ensure that the pin-insert connections are fastened.

Remove the plastic films on the pads.
* Check if the adhesive side of the pad is clean after removing the plastic film.
* We recommend keeping the plastic films for storing the pads after usage.

Step 4: Place pads on your body.
Place pads on the area you would like to treat. (Please check Pg 14 Pad Placement for more information) Place the adhesive side of pad on your skin.- Again, please make sure that you use one pair of pads at the same time.
- Please make sure that at least two pads are connected to one wire.
- Make sure your skin has been cleaned of all dirt, oil, or lotions.
- Make sure the pads are adhered closely on your skin.
- Do not overlap pads or place one pad on top of another one.
- DO NOT place pads on the artery, throat, bones, or wound.
- DO NOT place pads near the heart, on both sides of the thorax or chest.

Step 5: Turn on the device and select the channel
- Push the “ON/OFF” switch located on the right side of the device to the ON position:
- The device will start showing all icons for 2 seconds to ensure that all options are displayed properly.
- Verify the channel indicator on the screen to make sure the device is on the same channel you want. If the “A” on the screen is blinking, channel A is working. If “B” is blinking, channel B is working. If you plug wire into A (B) output, you have to use A (B) channel.

Step 6: Select modes.
- Select any mode you want to use and press the button. For example, if you would like to use “BACK” mode, you need to press the button “BACK” on the device.

Step 7: Adjust intensity and speed

YK15AB has A/B independent channels. The intensity can be adjusted independently for A and B channels. There are “Intensity +” and “Intensity -” buttons on both left side and right side of the device.

Please use the “Intensity +” and “Intensity -” buttons on the left side to adjust the intensity for Channel A (A1 A2 outputs).

Please use the “Intensity +” and “Intensity -” buttons on the right side to adjust the intensity for Channel B (B1 B2 outputs).

Press the intensity “+” button to increase the intensity, press the intensity – button to decrease the intensity.

If you need to adjust speed of the electronic pulse, press the speed “+” button to increase the speed, and press Speed “-” button to decrease the speed.
* • We suggest you try from the lowest intensity and gradually increase the intensity to a level you feel comfortable.
* • The intensity should be set at a level where you will experience some muscular vibration and involuntary muscle movements.

Step 8: Adjust timer
This model has a default 80-minute timer. Timer will be the same for both A, B channels. You CANNOT adjust the timer separately for A, B channels. -
Step 9: Turn off the device
Push the “ON/OFF” switch located at the right side of the device to the OFF position. -
Step 10: Remove the pads from your skin.
Remove the pads from your skin softly and place them back on the provided pad holder or the protective plastic film.- • DO NOT remove the pads before you turn off the device.

Step 11: take off the pads from the wires. Unplug wires from the device.
Cleaning and Storage
Device Use a lightly moistened cloth to clean the device and wipe gently.
- Make sure the device is off when you clean it.
- Do not let water get into the device.
Cleaning and Storing Pad
Clean: After using pads on your body, please drop a little clean water on the sticky side and use your fingertips to clean it softly
- Please turn off the device and disconnect the pads with wires first before you clean the pad.
- Do not use nails or other sharp objects on the sticky side.
- Do not use chemical liquids on the sticky side.
Storage: Place pads on the pad holder or place the plastic film on the sticky side of the pad to keep the gel moist.
Wires: You can wrap wires on the pad holder
- Do not keep the device in areas subject to direct sunlight, high or low temperatures, humid areas, or near fire, vibration, or shock.
- Do not keep the device in places that can be easily reached by children.

Pad Placement

LOWER BACK
Attach both pads on the lower back with the backbone in the center. Do not place it on the backbone or spine. Suggested Mode Mode 3, 10, 11, 13, and 14 -
SCIATIC
Attach on pad below and above the region in pain, both on the same side(NOT on the spine). Suggested Mode Mode 3, 5, 10, 12, 13, and 14 -
DELTOID
Attach one pad in front and one in the back of the muscle. Suggested Mode Mode 3, 5, 10, 12, 13, and 14 -
UPPER ARM
Attach both pads on either side of the region where you feel pain. Suggested Mode Mode 2, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 -
ELBOW
Attach both pads on either side of the joint with the pain. Suggested Mode Mode 4, 11, 12 and 14 -
HIP & THIGH
Attach both pads on either side of the area with pain. Suggested Mode Mode 5, 10, 13 and 14 -
KNEE
Attach both pads above the knee or above and below the joint with pain. Suggested Mode Mode 1, 7, 12, 13 and 14 -
CALF
Attach both pads on the calf/leg where you feel pain. (Do no place pads simultaneously to the calves of both legs) Suggested Mode Mode 7, 10, 13 and 14 -
ABS/SHOULDER
Attach pads per the illustration. (Do not put pads on the spine) Suggested Mode Mode 3, 10, 11, 13 and 14 -
ANKLE/FOOT
Attach pads on the left for pain on the outside. Attach pads on the right for pain on the inside Suggested Mode Mode 8, 10, 12, 14 and 15
Trouble Shooting
