Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Z-wave of ZigBee?
Neither. It is Lutron’s proprietary Clear Connect RF Technology system.
Can I use one remote to control two dimmers independently, that is turn one light on while leaving the other off?
If the PJ2-3BRL-GWH-L01 is programmed to two different dimmers, it will control them both simultaneously. This device can not be used to control two different dimmers independently, two different remotes would need to be used.
Did someone tried it with a belkin switch?
This device uses a patented RF technology called Clear Connect that is not compatible with Belkin switches.
Why is black color so expensive ?
It’s absolutely crazy how expensive these black Pico’s are.
Does the pico remote require use of the Lutron smart hub?
They do not. The Pico can be used in a standalone application to control RF Lutron dimmers, switches, and shades.
Is there a limit to how many switches one remote can control? Can i use this as a master switch to turn off all other switches in my home?
If you are not using a Lutron SmartBridge, you can pair sn unlimied nomber of switches to the Pico. If using a SmartBridge, you can control up to 75 devices (not 50 as stated elsewere). Set up a scene to turn the devices off and have the Pico trigger the scene.
How long can the product be used?
Please know that Lutron takes pride in the quality of our products, from the components we use, to the 100% end of line testing, to our dedicated 24/7 customer support team. Lutron is the #1 brand among lighting professionals whose reputations and business rely on quality products they can depend on to perform for years and years.
Can the remote be mounted to a wall?
Yes it can. I purchased the Wall mount kit (see link below) and 3M command taped it to the wall next to my existing switch for a fan. I then put a 2 gang style faceplate over it and you’d think it was mounted to a 2 gamg box but it was not. Nice clean look with no need for holes drilled. I purchased 2nd remote for my nightstand.
Is this switch compatible with dimmable led outdoor string lights (2w edison bulbs)? these lights flicker horribly on our current dimmer switch.
The PJ2-3BRL-GWH-L01 is only a remote control. This device would not be able to control a lighting load directly. This remote is designed to work with Lutron’s Caseta Wireless dimmers, such as a PD-6WCL. While this dimmer may work to resolve your issue, please note that currently there is no industry standard or regulation for the manufacturing of LEDs and the performance will vary with different dimming controls.
Can i use this to control a caseta on/off switch? (not the dimmable switch)
Yes, the PJ2-3BRL could be used for this application. Please note that the raise/lower buttons would have no effect when used with a Caseta Wireless on/off switch.
Why is ivory colored switch 300% of the price for white switch?
The clack is even more. Same for bases. I have white one on a black base in the kitchen area.

Can this work with 20amp circuit?
I no longer have access to the literature that came with the switch, but I’ve had these in use with casetas on one 15 amp circuit and one 20 amp circuit in my home for over 2 years without problems. If I remember correctly, it may only be rated for 15amps, so it really depends on how much power will be drawn through the switch. For example, if it were going to switch on a powerful heater, I’d go a different route, but if it’s for a few LED lights, no problem.
Can my baby use this product a lot?
Although this product is simple to use, we do not recommend it for use by babies and toddlers.
