Product Information

The FK 55 is a ceramic heater with a digital thermostat. Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before using the product for the first time, read the instruction manual carefully and retain it for later reference.

WARNINGS

  1. Before using the product for the first time, please read the instructions for use below and retain them for later reference. The original instructions were written in the Hungarian language.
  2. Children below the age of 3 years should be kept away from the appliance, except where they are under constant supervision. Children between the age of 3 and 8 may only switch the appliance on/off provided that it has been set up and installed in the normal operating position and they are under supervision, or have been instructed how to operate the appliance safely and understand the hazards associated with use.
  3. This appliance may only be used by persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking in experience or knowledge, as well as children from the age of 8, if they are under supervision or have been given instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety and they have understood the hazards associated with use. Children should not be allowed to play with the unit. Children may only clean or perform user maintenance on the appliance under supervision. 3. ATTENTION: Some parts of this appliance may become very hot and cause burns. Particular care should be taken when children and vulnerable people are present!
  4. Make sure that the appliance was not damaged during shipping.
  5. Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped!
  6. Do not use the appliance if there is visible damage!
  7. Do not place in a corner, observe the minimum positioning clearances shown in Figure 3! Observe the requirements effective in the country of use.
  8. The appliance is intended to be used for air heating only, not for general heating purposes.
  9. Do not direct the hot air exhaust directly at curtains or other combustible materials!
  10. Do not place near flammable materials. (min. 100 cm)
  11. Do not use the appliance in environments where flammable vapours or explosive dust may be released. Do not use in an inflammable or explosive atmosphere.
  12. DO NOT use the appliance near a bathtub, washbasin, shower, swimming pool or sauna.
  13. Use it only under dry, indoor conditions. Protect it from humid environments (e.g. bathroom, swimming pool).
  14.  It is forbidden to mount the unit directly below a power socket!
  15. Operate the appliance under constant supervision at all times.
  16. Do not operate the appliance near children without supervision.
  17. Do not use the appliance in motor vehicles or confined spaces (< 5m2) (e.g. elevators)
  18. If you are not going to use the appliance for an extended period, turn it off and unplug the power cord. Store in a dry, cool place.
  19. Always switch off the power before moving the heater!
  20. The appliance should be moved by the recessed barrel on the back.
  21. If you notice any irregularities (such as unusual noise from the appliance or burning smell), switch off and unplug the appliance immediately.
  22. Make sure that no objects or liquids can enter the appliance through the openings.
  23. Protect from dust, moisture, sunlight and direct heat.
  24. Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the power supply by pulling out the plug.
  25. Never touch the appliance or the power cord with wet hands.
  26. Only connect to earthed wall socket with 230V~ / 50Hz rated supply voltage.
  27. Always fully unroll the supply cable.
  28. Do not run the power cord across the appliance or near air inlets and outlets!

  31.  Keep the appliance in a place, where the power supply plug can be easily reached and unplugged.
  32. Run the power supply cable so that it cannot be accidentally disconnected, and it does not create a risk of stumbling.

    DO NOT COVER! COVERING THE UNIT CAN CAUSE OVERHEATING, FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK.
    Caution: Risk of electric shock! Do not attempt to disassemble of modify the unit or its accessories. In case any part is damaged, immediately power off the unit and seek the assistance of a specialist.
    In the event that the power cable should become damaged, it shouservice facility or similarly qualified personnel.

COMMISSIONING

  1. Before installation, carefully remove packaging, and make sure not to damage the unit or the power cord. If you find any damage, the unit must not be operated!
  2. Take out the unit from the box.
  3. Place the unit on its base on a hard, flat surface.
  4. To ensure proper operation, you have to arrange for the free circulation of hot air. Therefore, please, observe the minimum clearances indicated in Figure 3.
  5. Make sure that the main switch of the appliance is in the off ‘0’ position.
  6. Plug the unit into a standard grounded wall socket. Now the unit is ready for operation!

CLEANING, MAINTENANCE

In order to ensure optimum functioning, the unit may require cleaning at least once a month, depending on the manner of use and degree of contamination.

  1. Switch off and power off the unit by unplugging it from the electric outlet prior to cleaning.
  2. Allow the appliance to cool (for at least 30 minutes).
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the air inlet (1) and outlet (2) openings.
  4. Use a slightly moistened cloth to clean the unit’s exterior. Do not use any aggressive cleaners. Avoid getting water inside the unit and on the electric components.

DISPOSAL

Waste equipment must be collected and disposed separately from household waste because it may contain components hazardous to the environment or health. Used or waste equipment may be dropped off free of charge at the point of sale, or at any distributor which sells equipment of identical nature and function. Dispose of product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic waste. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of others and yourself. If you have any questions, contact the local waste management organization. We shall undertake the tasks pertinent to the manufacturer as prescribed in the relevant regulations and shall bear any associated costs arising.

OPERATION

  • After commissioning the appliance as described in the COMMISSIONING section, switch it on by turning the main switch to the “I” position. The unit will beep and the display will show the room temperature in °C units.
  • Switch on by touching the button. The fan starts to run and the icon appears on the display.
  • Press the touch button to select low or high heating and press the third button to return to fan-only mode .
  • Each touch of the off timer  button increases the remaining operating time by +1 hour (00 – 12 hours).
  • The thermostat touch button allows you to set the desired room temperature from 15 to 45 °C in 1 °C increments. The desired temperature value is displayed flashing, while the room temperature is displayed with a continuous light. In this thermostat mode, the appliance selects which heating level to operate at. If the desired temperature is 1-2 °C higher than the current room temperature, the low heating setting is activated. If the difference is 3 °C or more, the high heating setting is activated. Once the room temperature reaches the temperature set by the thermostat, the unit stops heating and switches to fan mode .
  • Touch the button to switch the appliance on and off to oscillate the heating clockwise and counterclockwise.
  • To switch the unit off, touch the button. The appliance may then count down for 30 seconds, typically if it was heating before it was switched off.
  • This will cool itself down and then switch off.
  • If you do not intend to use the appliance in the near future, it is recommended that you also switch off the main switch.
  • If not used for a longer period, disconnect the power supply cable from the wall socket.
  • Overheating protection serves to switch off the device in the event of overheating, e.g. if the air inlet or outlet is blocked. Disconnect the device by pulling out the mains plug. Allow the appliance to cool down (min. 30 minutes). Check if the air inlet and outlet are unblocked; clean them if necessary.
  • Turn on the device again. If the overheat protection keeps activating, disconnect the device by pulling out the mains plug and contact an authorised service shop.
  • The device switches off automatically if it is overturned. In this case, disconnect the appliance by pulling out its mains plug, place it upright on its stand and then put it back into operation as described in the COMMISSIONING section.
  • If the appliance is switched off using the touch button only, the previously set thermostat value will be remembered. When it is switched back on, it will switch on in fan mode, but as soon as the touch button is touched, the previously set temperature will be the default.
  • With the main switch off or in the event of a power failure, the unit will forget any further settings.
