Important Safety Instructions

Please read the following safety instructions before using the HG SZ 03 Sandwich Maker:

  1. Read the instruction manual carefully before use and retain it for later reference.
  2. Make sure that the power cable and the plug cannot come in contact with water or any other liquids.
  3. Unwind the power cable completely.
  4. The appliance should only be connected to properly grounded 230V ~/50Hz electric wall outlets.
  5. Do not use extension cords or power strips to connect the unit
  6. The power cable must not come in contact with a hot surface.
  7. The appliance should be located in a way that allows easy access and removal of the power plug.
  8. Lead the power cable in a way that prevents accidental pulling or hanging over the edge of a table.
  9. Heating elements or heated surfaces of the appliance may still be warm after the unit has been switched off.
  10. Switch off the appliance after each use, unplug the power cable, and let the appliance cool before cleaning and storing it.
  11. The sandwich maker is intended for household use only. Industrial use is not permitted.
  12. Technical data and design may change without prior notice due to continuous improvements.

  15. Caution: Risk of electric shock! Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the unit or its accessories. In case any part is damaged, immediately power off the unit and seek the assistance of a specialist. If the power cable is damaged, it should only bereplaced by the manufacturer, its service facility, or similarly qualified personnel.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before installation, carefully remove the packaging and ensure that the unit and the connecting cable are not damaged. If anydamage is found, do not operate the unit.
  2. Place the sandwich maker on a solid and level surface.
  3. Observe the positioning clearances shown in Figure 2 and comply with the requirements applicable in your country of use.
  4. Plug the unit into a standard grounded wall socket to start heating the iron. The red indicator light will be lit.
  5. Wait for the green indicator light to also be lit, indicating that the device has reached the required temperature for making sandwiches.
  6. Allow the device to operate empty for approximately 10 minutes to eliminate any initial smoke odor, which is harmless and will dissipate soon.
  7. The sandwich maker is now ready for use.

WARNINGS

  1. Before using the product for the first time, please read the instructions for use below and retain them for later reference. The original instructions were written in the Hungarian language.
  2. This appliance may only be used by persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking in experience or knowledge, as well as children from the age of 8, if they are under supervision or have been given instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety and they have understood the hazards associatedwith use.
  3. Children should not be allowed to play with the unit. Children from the age of 8 may only clean or perform user maintenance on the appliance under supervision. Children below the age of 8 years should be kept away from the appliance, and its power cable.
  4. Make sure the appliance has not been damaged in transit!
  5. This appliance may only be use for warming sandwiches, made of sliced bread!
  6. Do not place anything onto the top of the appliance!
  7. Place the appliance only onto a stable and horizontal surface!
  8. Always keep the minimum installation distances indicated in Figure 2. Always observe the health and safety regulations valid in the country of use!
  9. The appliance must not be used with programmable timers, timer switches or stand-alone remote controlled systems that can automatically turn the unit on.
  10. Only for indoor use, in a dry place! Protect it from humid circumstances (e.g.: bathroom, swimming pool)!
  11. It is PROHIBITED to use the unit near bathtubs, basins, showers, swimming pools or saunas!
  12. Power off the unit by unplugging it from the electric outlet before cleaning or relocating it.
  13. Hold the plug, not the power cable when you pull it out from the electric outlet!
  14. Do not place the appliance onto electric or gas cooker, onto or near other heat source.
  15. Operate only under constant supervision!
  16. Do not operate unattended in the presence of children!
  17. If any irregular operation is detected (e.g. unusual noise or burnt odor from unit), immediately switch it off and remove the power plug!
  18. Protect from dust, humidity, sunlight and direct heat radiation!
  19. Do not touch the unit or the power cable with wet hands!
  20. Make sure, that the power cable and the plug can not get in touch water or any other liquids!

COMMISSIONING

  1. Before installation, carefully remove packaging, and make sure not to damage the unit or the connecting cable. If you find any damage, the unit must not be operated!
  2. Set the device on a solid, level surface.
  3. Observe the positioning clearances shown on Figure 2! Observe the requirements effective in the country of use.
  4. Plug the unit into a standard grounded wall socket. Now the unit is ready for operation!
  5. When the device is connected to power supply, it starts heating the iron and the red light is lit. When the green light is also lit, the device has reached the temperature required for making sandwiches. Let the device operate empty for approximately 10 minutes.
  6. A slight scent of smoke may occur during first use. This is not harmful and will stop soon.
  7. Now the device is ready for use.

SANDWICH MAKING

  1. Prepare the sandwiches using toast bread. Place the desired filling on the bottom slice, then cover it with a second slice. Do not use too much filling, as it will make it hard to close the sandwich maker, or the filling can burn on the cooking plate.
  2. When the device has reached the temperature required for making sandwiches, the green light turns on. The device will warm up faster with the lid closed.
  3. Unlock the handle to open the lid of the sandwich maker. Do not touch the hot cooking plate.
  4. Place the prepared sandwiches on the bottom cooking plate and slowly close the top cooking plate. Secure the handles with the lock.
  5. After approx. 2-3 minutes release the lock and open the top cooking plate. Remove the sandwiches using a wooden or heat resistant plastic spatula. Do not use metal utensils to remove the sandwiches, as those can damage the non-stick coating.
  6. When finished making sandwiches, disconnect the cable from the wall socket.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Malfunction Possible solution
Sandwich maker can not be shut down. Sandwiches are two thick.
Sandwiches are not baked properly. Wait till the green light goes out before

baking.

DISPOSAL
Waste equipment must be collected and disposed separately from household waste because it may contain components hazardous to the environment or health. Used or waste equipment may be dropped off free of charge at the point of sale, or at any distributor which sells equipment of identical nature and function. Dispose of product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic waste. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of others and yourself. If you have any questions, contact the local waste management organization. We shall undertake the tasks pertinent to the manufacturer as prescribed in the relevant regulations and shall bear any associated costs arising.

STORAGE
When the grill plates had cool down, shut the device and fix the handle lock. Store in a coo, dry place!
