Charging
Connect the Micro-USB cables to the charging port (8) of the walkie talkies and to a USB power adapter. The indicator (2) turns orange during charging and turns blue when the walkie talkies are fully charged.
The battery symbol on the display starts to flash when the battery level is low.
Power on/off
Press and hold the Power button (11) to turn the walkie talkies on or off.
Make calls and set volume
Adjust the volume by pressing the Volume buttons (9, 10). The volume level
shows on the display.
Press and hold the Call button (7) to call another walkie talkie and transmit
a call tone. When you get an answer, press and hold the PTT button (3) to
talk. Speak into the microphone (4). Release the button when you are done
talking.
If the other device is set to the same channel or CTCSS code, it will receive
a call automatically only by pressing the PTT button (3).
Changing channel and CTCSS code
Use the Channel +/- buttons (6, 7) to set a channel.
To change CTCSS code, press the Menu button (11) until “QT” shows on the
display. The CTCSS code flashes. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to change
CTCSS code. Press and hold the Volume buttons to scroll through the codes
rapidly. Press the Menu button to confirm the code. To disable CTCSS, select
“OFF” as CTCSS code. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.
Squelch level
Press the Menu button (11) until “Sq” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to adjust the squelch level. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.
Call tone
The devices have 10 different call tones. Press the Menu button (11) until “CA” flashes on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to change between the call tones. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.
Roger beep
After releasing the PTT button (3), a beep can confirm that you have stopped talking. To set the beep, press the Menu button (11) until “ro” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to enable (ON) or disable (OFF) the beep. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button to exit the menu.
VOX menu
The devices have VOX. When using VOX, the devices are activated by your voice. To activate VOX, press the Menu button (11) until “iVOX” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to change the VOX sensitivity. There are nine sensitivity levels. Choose sensitivity level 1-3 for noisy environments and 7-9 for quiet environments. Press the Menu button to confirm. To disable VOX, select “OFF” when changing sensitivity. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.
Key tone
The device can beep every time a button is pressed. To turn off the key tone, press the Menu button (11) until “bp” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to enable (ON) or disable (OFF) the key tone. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PTT button (3) to exit the menu.
Whisper function
The devices have a whisper function. If the whisper function is enabled, the walkie talkie transmits a high sound level even though you are whispering. Press the Menu button (11) until “UI” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn the whisper function on or off. Press the Menu button to confirm. Press the PPT button (3) to exit the menu.
Voice compander and voice scrambler
The devices have a voice compander and scrambler function. The compander function reduces background noises. This makes the audio sound clearer in long-distance communication.
The scrambler function is an audio encryption. Walkie talkies without the same scrambler ID will receive disordered noises.
Press the Menu button (11) until “OP” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn on or off the functions. If you choose OFF, both functions are deactivated. If you choose SC, the scrambler function is activated. If you choose CO, the compander function is activated. Confirm by pressing the Menu button. Exit the menu by pressing the PPT button (3).
Voice scrambler ID
If the voice scrambler function is activated, you need to set a scrambler ID for your walkie talkies. Press the Menu button (11) until “SC” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to set a scrambler ID. Make sure to set the same scrambler ID for both units.
Headset function
If you are using the devices with headsets, you need to enable the headset function. Press the Menu button (11) until “EP” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn the function on or off. Confirm with the Menu button. Press the PPT button (3) to exit the menu.
Monitor function
With the monitor function, you can listen to weak signals that you normally do not hear. Press the Menu button (11) until “no” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn the function on or off. Confirm with the Menu button. Press the PPT button (3) to exit the menu.
Dual watch
The dual watch function enables your device to scan two channels alternately. Press the Menu button (11) until “CH” shows on the display. Use the Volume buttons (9, 10) to turn the function on or off or to set a channel to search alongside the current one. If the function is activated, the device scans both the current channel and the extra channel and stops on any active channel. When you are pressing the PPT button (3) to transmit on an active channel, the scanning pauses for 10 seconds after you have released the PPT button.
Flashlight
Press and hold the Channel + /Flashlight button (6) to turn the flashlight on or off.
Lock function
Press and hold the Volume+ button (10) to lock all the buttons. A lock shows on the display. Press and hold the Volume + button again to unlock the buttons.
Scanning for radio channel
Press and hold the Volume- button (9) to scan for an active channel. The scanning will stop automatically when finding an active channel. Press the PTT button (3) to transmit on the found channel. Press and hold the Volume- button (9) again to quit the scan.
Safety information
The product contains a rechargeable Li-ion battery that cannot be replaced. Do not open and disassemble the product.
