Installation
Ventilation
Place the inverter in an open space to make sure that the outflow of emitted
heat can run freely. Aim for at least 1 D cm free space on all sides and do
not block the air vent.
Connection
Make sure that the inverter is turned off before connecting it to the 12 V
battery. Use the included red and black cables. Connect the red cable to the
positive DC input (7) and the positive pole of the battery. Connect the black
cable to the negative DC input (8) and the negative pole. Make sure the DC
connections are tight.
When connecting the inverter for the first time, it is recommended to connect
the grounding cable. Connect the grounding cable to the grounding plug (10)
of the inverter and attach the tong to a ground source.
Double-check the connection before turning on the inverter. If the cables are
connected tightly and correctly, press the On/off button (4). The power
indicator turns green. Note! Never reverse connect the cables. If the inverter
alarms in any way, press the On/off button (4) for 3 seconds to turn it off.
Before connecting the load, calculate the total power consumption of the
output load and make sure that it does not exceed the rated power. The optimal
load is 85 % of the inverters rated power. Make sure the equipment you are
about to connect is turned off. Connect the load to the inverter and turn it
on one by one. Start with the largest load. After it has started up properly,
go on with the next one. Remember to only connect one electrical piece of
equipment to a socket.
When you are about to disconnect your equipment and inverter, start with
turning off the load and then turn off the inverter. When all is turned off it
is safe to disconnect.
Remote control
Use the remote control to turn the inverter on or off. Connect the RJ12 cable
to the remote port (6) and the remote control. Make sure the inverter is off
when using the remote.
If the inverter alarms, the remote control shows error codes to explain the
status of the inverter:
Error code | Cause |
---|---|
FD1 | Input voltage too low |
FD2 | Input voltage too high |
F03 | Inverter overloaded |
F04 | Temperature too high |
FD5 | Output short-circuit |
Fans
The fan starts to run when the temperature inside the inverter is around 60 C.
Maintenance
Make sure that the fan vents are not blocked. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove
any dust from the fan areWhen cleaning the case or front panel, use a soft.
dry cloth. If the case or front panel is very dirty, use a neutral, non-
abrasive detergent. Do not use alcohol or ammonia-based solutions.
Avoid any liquid or metal falling into the inverter.
Check every now and then if the screw on the DC input terminal is loose. If it
is, lock it and check if the inverter work indicator is correct.
Troubleshooting
The inverter is protected against overvoltage in, under-voltage in, overload, over-temperature, and short circuits. If any of that occurs the inverter turns off. It will re-start automatically after a while.
Status | Indication | Restart method |
---|---|---|
Green LED | Red LED | Alarm |
Alarm for low
input voltage.| On| Off| Yes| Yes| Increase the voltage
to correct range. The inverter will then restart.
The shutdown was caused by the low input voltage.| On| Flash| Yes| No
The shutdown was caused by the too high input voltage.| On| Flash| Yes| No|
Decrease the input voltage to the correct range. The inverter will then
restart.
The shutdown was caused by overload.| On| Flash| Yes| No| Reduce the load to
the correct range. The inverter
will then restart.
The shutdown was caused by too high a temperature.| On| Flash| Yes| No|
Cooldown the inverter and wait for the inside temperature to drop.
The shutdown was caused by a short circuit| On| Flash| Yes| No| Stop using.
Check the connecting cables and loads. Restart after troubleshooting.
Safety information
Do not expose the inverter to rain, snow, spray, or dust. Keep the inverter at
a temperature between 5 °C and 35 °C to not affect the output efficiency.
Do not use the inverter near water or in excessive humidity. Keep the inverter
at a humidity level of 10- 95% RH.
Make sure the wires are all in good condition. Do not use damaged cable since
this can lead to a fire hazard or electric shock. Do not use under dimensioned
cables. Do not use cables thinner than 10 mm 2 and shorter than 48 cm. If you
need a longer cable, it also needs to be thicker Do not open or disassemble
the inverter. If the inverter needs repairing, always turn to a professional.
Do not drop metal tools on the inverter. This may cause a short circuit on the
connected electronics.
Use the inverter in well-ventilated areas. Do not block the front air vents or
the rear air exhaust. Make sure the fan axis is always horizontal.
Do not operate appliances that may feed power back into the inverter.
To keep a long lifespan of the inverter, the recommended load power is within
85% of the rated output power of the inverter.
The outlets are not grounded.
Do not touch the inverter, the sockets, or the connected power plugs with wet
hands.
Make sure to always connect the power plugs correctly. Do not use damaged
power plugs.
Do not use the inverter close to combustible gas or fire.
