Rechargeable battery for DUO RL and DUO S headlamps.
Compatible with Petzl ULTRA headlamps.
Lithium-Ion battery, capacity: 7.4 V, 3200 mAh, 23.68 Wh.
Charge it completely before first use. Use only a Petzl rechargeable battery.
In general, Li-Ion rechargeable batteries lose 10 % of their capacity each year. After 500 charge/discharge cycles, they still have about 70 % of their initial capacity.

Charging the battery

WARNING
The rechargeable battery must be charged only with the Petzl quick charger. This 100-240 V-50/60 Hz wall charger can be used worldwide with its adapter plug.

Charging Time

Charging time is about 4 hours.

While charging, the charge indicator lights steady red, then steady green when charging is complete.

Energy gauge

Verify your battery’s charge level by pushing the Energy Gauge button. WARNING: verifying the battery’s charge level must be done with the lamp turned off or unplugged.

Precautions for use
WARNING – DANGER: risk of explosion and burns.
WARNING: incorrect use can damage the rechargeable battery.

  • Your rechargeable battery’s connectors must be dry when charging.
  • Do not dispose of a rechargeable battery in fire.
  • Do not expose the battery to high temperatures. Follow the recommended usage and storage temperatures.
  • Do not destroy the rechargeable battery; it can explode or release toxic materials.
  • If your rechargeable battery is damaged, do not dismantle it or change its structure. Dispose of your rechargeable battery in accordance with current local regulations.
  • If the battery leaks electrolyte, avoid any contact with this caustic and dangerous liquid; see a doctor if any contact occurs. Change out the battery and dispose of the defective battery in accordance with current local regulations.
  •  Do not leave the battery unattended while charging.
  • Charge only R2 and ACCU 2 rechargeable batteries with the quick charger. Charging other types of batteries may cause personal injury and may damage the battery and charger.
  • Do not use with an extension cord.
  • Do not leave a rechargeable battery in the charger if the battery emits any odor or heat, changes color or shape, is leaking electrolyte, or shows any type of irregularity.
  •  Do not expose the charger to rain or snow; electrocution may result.
  • Do not operate the charger if it has been subjected to a significant impact or fall.
  • If the charger is damaged (the power cable, for example), do not disassemble it. It must only be repaired in Petzl workshops, as special tools are required.
  •  To reduce the risk of damage to the plug, pull on the plug and not the cable when you are disconnecting the charger.
  • To avoid the risk of an electric shock, unplug the charger before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Replacing the rechargeable battery
    Use only a Petzl R2 rechargeable battery. Using another type of rechargeable battery can damage your lamp. Do not use another type of rechargeable battery.

Malfunction

Check the plugs for corrosion. If corroded, clean the contacts by gently scraping them without deforming them. Verify that the plugs are properly connected. If your lamp still does not work, contact Petzl.

    For long-term storage, charge the rechargeable battery (repeat every six months) and remove the battery from the lamp. Avoid allowing your rechargeable battery to discharge completely. Be sure to store the rechargeable battery in a dry place. The ideal storage temperature is between 20 and 25° C. After 12 months in these conditions without use, the rechargeable battery will be discharged.

The Petzl guarantee

This battery is guaranteed for two years against any defects in materials or manufacture. Exclusions from the guarantee: more than 300 charge/discharge cycles, normal wear and tear, oxidation, modifications or alterations, incorrect storage, poor maintenance, damage due to accidents, to negligence, or to improper or incorrect usage.
