Definitions: Safety Guidelines

The definitions below describe the level of severity for each signal word. Please read the manual and pay attention to these symbols.

DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.

WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.

CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.

NOTICE: Indicates a practice not related to personal injury which, if not avoided, may result in property damage.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: When using electric appliances, always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, including the following:
BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE, READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock. Do not expose to rain. Store indoors.

  • Do not leave the appliance when it is connected to a power source. Unplug it from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
  • Do not allow the appliance to be used as a toy. Pay close attention when the appliance is used by or near children.
  • Use this appliance ONLY as described in the manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments and spare parts.
  • Do not use this appliance with a damaged cord or plug. If the appliance is not working correctly, or if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped in water, return it to a service center.
  • Do not pull or carry this appliance by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the appliance over the cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug this appliance by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

  • Do not put any objects into the openings of the appliance. Do not use the appliance with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything else that may reduce air flow.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all body parts away from the openings and moving parts.
  • Turn off all controls before unplugging appliance.
  • Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
  • Do not use the appliance to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where flammable or combustible liquids are present.
  • Static shocks are possible in dry areas or when the relative humidity of the air is low. This is only temporary and does not affect the use of the vacuum. To reduce the frequency of static shocks, add moisture to the air with a console, installed humidifier or use anti-static hose.
  • To avoid spontaneous combustion, empty canister after each use.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES

  • Connect to a properly grounded outlet only .
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Do not use to vacuum combustible explosive materials, such as coal, grain, or other finely divided combustible material.
  • Do not use to vacuum hazardous, toxic or carcinogenic materials, such as asbestos or pesticide.
  • Never pick up explosive liquids (e.g. gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil, paint thinner, etc.), acids or solvents.
  • Do not use vacuum without filters in place, except as described under Wet Pickup Applications.
  • Some wood contains preservatives which can be toxic. Take extra care to prevent inhalation and skin contact when working with these materials. Request and follow any safety information available from your material supplier.
  • Do not use vacuum as a step ladder.
  • Do not place heavy objects on vacuum.
  • Before cleaning or maintaining the appliance, the power plug must be removed from the socket-outlet
  • IPX4 is only granted by connect an IPX4 plug to socket-out of the appliance or the cover of the socket-out is closed.

WARNING: Always wear proper personal hearing protection that conforms to during use. Under some conditions and duration of use, noise from this product may contribute to hearing loss.

WARNING: ALWAYS use safety glasses. Everyday eyeglasses are NOT safety glasses. Also use face or dust mask if area operation is dusty.

WARNING: Some dust contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:

  • compounds in fertilizers,
  • compounds in insecticides, herbicides and pesticides,
  • arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.

To reduce your exposure to these chemicals, wear approved safety equipment such as dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles. ON MOTOR HOUSING (on back of vacuum head):

  • This vacuum meets the epa lead related renovations, repair and painting (rrp) rule for hepa vacuum only if hepa filter is used.
  • To reduce the risk of injury, user must read instruction manual. do not run unattended. do not pick up flammable, combustible or hot materials. do not use around explosive dust, liquids or vapors. electrical devices produce arcs or sparks which can cause fire or explosion. do not use at filling stations or anywhere gasoline is stored or dispensed. do not vacuum toxic or carcinogenic materials or other health endangering material such as asbestos or pesticides. always use proper eye and respiratory protection. to reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not expose to rain. store indoors. when servicing, use only identical replacement parts. not to be used as a step stool. (the use of this machine in conjunction with the pick up of lead has not been investigated by ul)

CAUTION: Risk of fire and injury. do not exceed 13 amps. the receptacle is energized when the vacuum is on or set to auto mode. when set to auto mode, the vacuum wil l turn on automatically when the appliance connected to the receptacle is turned on.

Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed.

WARNING: Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

This appliance is for use on a nominal 220-volt circuit and has a grounding attachment plug that looks like the plug illustrated in Figure   A. Make sure that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No adaptor should be used with this appliance.
Grounding Instructions

Be sure your power supply agrees with the nameplate marking. Only connect to a proper 220-240 volt, 50Hz socket, Minimum fuse protection 13A. Voltage decrease of more than 10% will cause loss of power and overheating. Manufacturer’s tools are factory tested; if this tool does not operate, check power supply.
Max. load of socket-out: 2000W.
NOTICE: DO NOT operate this tool on D.C. current. Tool damage may occur.

Assembly Wet vacuum – cleaning

Unplug before change filter (Figure 1)
Pull the supplied foamed plastic filter over the filter basket (Figure 2) for wet vacuum-cleaning. Insert the plug and turn on the switch, then appliance starts to work (Figure 4 & 5a or 5b)
For CT42027: 30L 1400W; CT42028: 60L 1400W
When push the switch to the “I” position, the vacuum cleaner will work; when push the switch to the “O” position, vacuum cleaner will not work.
For CT42027: 30L 1400W; CT42028: 60L 1400W
When push the switch to the “I” position, the vacuum cleaner will work alone; when push the switch to the “O” position, vacuum cleaner will not work; when push the switch to the “II” position, while the tool which is connected with the socket working, the vacuum cleaner also work 3-5 seconds later, while the tool stop working, the vacuum cleaner also stop working.
The outer facility for the socket’s power is below 2000W.
The dust bag included upon delivery is not suitable for wet vacuum-cleaning!
Dry vacuum-cleaning

Unplug before change filter (Figure 1), then take out the bag and empty the dust or replace the bag.
Slip the dust bag onto the socket(figure 2) for dry vacuum-cleaning. Insert the plug and turn on the switch, then appliance starts to work (Figure 5 & 6a or 6b)
For CT42027: 30L 1400W; CT42028: 60L 1400W
When push the switch to the “I” position, the vacuum cleaner will work; when push the switch to the “O” position, vacuum cleaner will not work.
For CT42027: 30L 1400W; CT42028: 60L 1400W

Unplug before maintenance (Figure 1)
Take off the foamed plastic filter (Figure 3), and wash by water (Figure 5)
IMPORTANT: Do not use detergents to clean the filter. The filter must be thoroughly dry before the machine is used.
