HD Wi-Fi Camera

The HD Wi-Fi Camera is a high-quality camera designed for home security and surveillance. It features a compact design with dimensions of 4.3 inches (109mm) in height and 2.7 inches (68mm) in width. The camera includes various components such as a status indicator, microphone, device QR code, microSD slot, speaker, reset button, and power port.

Before using the camera, please read and follow the safety precautions mentioned in the user manual to ensure safe and proper usage.

ATTENTION: A regulated UL/CSA-approved power supply is required for use with this camera (included). Use of a non-regulated, non-conforming power supply can damage this product and voids the warranty.

Product Usage Instructions

Step One: Connect to the app

  1. Scan the QR code on this page to download the free Lorex Home app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Open the Lorex Home app.
  3. Sign in or sign up and create an account.
  4. Connect the USB power cable to the camera and plug the USB power adapter into an outlet.
  5. Once the status indicator on the camera is flashing green and the startup chime sounds, tap the + icon to add your camera.
  6. Scan the device QR code. If your mobile device cannot scan the QR code, tap Manually enter Device ID.
  7. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup.

Step Two: Mounting the camera (optional)

  1. Use the mounting template to mark two holes for the screws.
  2. Drill holes using a 1/4 (6mm) drill bit. If mounting to masonry or drywall, gently tap the anchors into the holes.
  3. Align the magnetic mounting plate with the drilled holes.
  4. Using a Philips screwdriver and two screws, secure the magnetic mounting plate in position.
  5. Place the camera base onto the magnetic mounting plate.
  6. Angle and rotate the camera’s position as needed.
  7. Open the camera’s settings in the app and enable Image Rotation to flip the camera image.

  • Camera live view: Allows you to view the live feed from the camera.
  • Two-way talk: Enables communication through the camera’s built-in microphone and speaker.
  • Take a snapshot: Captures a still image from the camera’s live feed.
  • Privacy Mode: Disables the camera’s live feed.
  • Shared users: Allows you to share camera access with other users.
  • Settings: Access camera settings such as date & time.
  • Play back recorded videos: View previously recorded videos.
  • Manually record video: Start manual recording of the camera’s live feed.
  • Pause or restart video: Pause or resume playing a recorded video.
  • Viewing modes: Select between SD or HD video quality.
  • Mute or unmute audio: Toggle audio on or off.
  • Full screen: Expand the video feed to full screen.
  • Tip: Change the video quality to SD (Standard Definition) to conserve bandwidth while watching live video. This will not impact the quality of recorded video.
  • FCC Compliance: This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Safety precautions

  • Read this guide carefully and keep it for future reference.
    • Follow all instructions for safe use and handling of the product.
    • Use camera within given temperature, humidity & voltage levels noted in the camera’s specifications.
    • Do not disassemble the camera.
    • Do not point the camera directly at the sun or a source of intense light.
    • Periodic cleaning required. Use a damp cloth only. Do not use any harsh, chemical-based cleaners.

Disclaimers

  • The camera is rated for indoor use only. Do not mount the camera outdoors.
    • Do not place the magnetic mounting plate on or near other electrical devices.
    • This camera includes an Auto Mechanical IR Cut Filter. When the camera changes between Day/Night viewing modes, an audible clicking noise may be heard from the camera.
    This clicking is normal, and indicates that the camera filter is working.
    • Audio recording without consent is illegal in certain jurisdictions. Lorex Corporation assumes no
    liability for use of its products that does not conform with local laws.

Camera placement

  • Place the camera as close to your Wi-Fi router or access point as possible.
  • Reduce the number of obstructive materials between the camera and the router or access point. Concrete, brick, metal and wood are the most common materials in your house that can cause poor signal strength.
  • Other electronic devices such as microwaves, TVs, cordless phones, and baby monitors can cause signal interference. It is recommended to install the camera as far away from these devices as possible.
