Product Information

The product is a TAILO Light Wiring Adapter Hardware Kit designed for motorcycles with King Tour-Pak. It includes an OEM 6-pin wiring harness and is used to install the TAILO Light onto the Tour-Pak. The wiring adapter connects the TAILO connectors to the OEM 6-pin wiring harness, allowing the TAILO Light to function as turn signals. The kit also includes zip ties and wire keepers for securing the wires.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Park your motorcycle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Make sure the engine has cooled down before proceeding.
2. Remove the seat and set it aside.
3. If your motorcycle has a stock Tour-Pak, locate the OEM 6-pin wiring harness positioned as shown in Fig.1. If your motorcycle has a Tour-Pak installed as an accessory, refer to Fig.2 for the location of the harness.
4. Install the wiring adapter onto the OEM 6-pin wiring harness. Connect the left and right TAILO connectors to the wiring adapter. The right side of the adapter has a brown wire and the left side has a purple wire, indicating turn signals. Once connected, disconnect the TAILO connectors.
5. Test fit the TAILO Light onto the Tour-Pak by using your fingers in the indentation under the Tour-Pak to center the light (Fig.5), or mark the position with masking tape if preferred. Run the wires from the front of the light into the seat area.
6. Thoroughly clean the mounting surface with denatured alcohol or an ammonia-based cleaner to remove all wax, oil, and residue (Fig.4).
7. The longer wire on the right side (Fig.6) should be run across to the left side under the backrest flap (Fig.7). Secure the wire with the provided zip ties and wire keepers.
8. Once the light has been installed, reconnect the TAILO wiring connectors and test all lighting functions. If you have an accessory Tour-Pak that you may remove at times, it is recommended to run the light connections outside the seat area to avoid removing the seat to access the connectors.
9. Reinstall the seat.

Installation Instructions

1. Park on a level surface and shut off the motorcycle. Ensure the engine has had time to cool before installation.

2. Remove seat and set aside. This installation was done on a motorcycle with a stock Tour-Pak with the OEM 6-pin harness positioned as in Fig.1. If your motorcycle has a Tour-Pak installed as an accessory see Fig. 2 for the location of the harness.

3. Locate the OEM 6-pin wiring harness and install the wiring adapter. Fig. 3 Connect the left and right TAILO connectors to the wiring adapter to understand their placement and functions. Note the right side of the adapter will have a brown wire and the left side will have a purple wire. These indicate turn signals. When finished disconnect the TAILO connectors.

4. Test fit the TAILO Light onto the Tour-Pak using your fingers in the indentation under the Tour-Pak to center the light, Fig. 5, or if preferred mark the position with masking tape. Run the wires from the front of the light into the seat area.
   ATTENTION: Thoroughly clean the mounting surface with denatured alcohol or an ammonia-based cleaner to remove all wax, oil, and residue. Fig. 4

5. Remove the red backer from the adhesive and install the TAILO Light. Press the light firmly onto the surface for 60 seconds. The adhesive cures within 24 hrs. NOTE, Do not install if the temperature is below 50° F. The adhesive will not cure properly.

6. The wire on the right side which is longer, Fig. 6, is meant to run across to the left side under the backrest flap, Fig. 7. Secure with provided zip ties and wire keepers.

7. After the light has been installed, reconnect the TAILO wiring connectors and test all lighting functions.
   NOTE: If you have an accessory Tour-Pak that you may remove at times you might want to run the light connections outside the seat area to avoid having to remove the seat to get to the connectors.

8. Reinstall the seat.
