Make sure the cord is disconnected from the clipper while storing this appliance and cord in a moisture-free area. Do not store it in temperatures exceeding 140°F (60°C).

Do not use this appliance with a damaged or broken cutter unit, as injury may occur. Always make sure blades are aligned properly.

Always attach plug to appliance and then the adapter to the outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to OFF, then remove adapter from outlet, then detach power cord from the clipper for storage.

Do not use an extension cord or a voltage converter with this appliance.

Do not wrap the cord around the appliance.

Dispose of used batteries properly. Do not incinerate. Batteries may explode if overheated. Do not wrap in metal or aluminum foil. Wrap in newspaper before discarding. It is suggested that you contact local battery redemption site(s) in your area.

Use only with a USB Power Source on a certified product, such as on a computer, receptacle, lamp, class 2 power supply or automotive adaptor.

Product Features

Developed to combine professional grade blades with the flexibility of cord or cord free use, this hair clipper enables you to achieve customized, modern looks and traditional hairstyles. To help you create those styles, and to extend the life of your hair clipper, please read all instructions before using.
Attaching Adjustable Guide Combs
To attach comb to clipper, align both comb rails with the comb tracks on both sides of the clipper and slide into place. Once comb is secure you will hear a click sound, letting you know it is locked in. Ensure comb is properly secured by pushing down on comb, the comb should not slip. To adjust comb height press down on the comb adjustment button and slide up or down as necessary.
Hair Length Settings
- The stubble comb has one length setting and is not adjustable
How to Use
Charging Your Hair Clipper

Clipper must be turned off.
-
Insert the adapter plug into the bottom of the clipper and plug the adapter unit into a power outlet. The amber light will glow to indicate that it is charging.
-
The clipper will be fully charged in 14-16 hours.
-
The batteries cannot be overcharged, but we recommend that charging be discontinued if the clipper will not be used for a long period of time.
-
It is advisable not to use this clipper directly from the power outlet when it has been fully charged, but if while using the clipper in cordless mode there is a noticeable drop in power, you can use directly from the power outlet.
Never use under water when connected to the outlet. -
Extended use of corded mode can deteriorate battery performance.
-
If the clipper has not been used for a month or longer, it is advisable to recharge it for 14-16 hours.
-
To preserve the life of the batteries, discharge them by running the clipper until the blades move slowly. Switch off and fully recharge. Do this every six months.
-
Charge the clipper at temperatures between 40º-90ºF.
-
Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries included. See battery removal section for proper disposal of batteries.
USB charging
- Some models are capable of charging via USB port on a PC. Do not run the product when charging via USB port on a PC.
Hair Texturizor
Simply adjust the hair thinner mechanism by sliding the button at the top of the hair clipper.
- Cut hair to desired length.
- Select a comb attachment on to two lengths shorter than initial comb length and attach to clipper.
- Slide Texture Release button into place, exposing hair texturizor.
- Repeat hair cutting technique in areas you desire to be texturized
Auto Boost System (Only for HC5750)
There are 3 settings for the Auto Boost system: Off, Auto and Boost.
- If the clipper is set to Auto it will run at regular power under low load conditions.
- When more power is needed, the clipper with automatically sense and provide maximum Boost.
- If the clipper is set to Boost, it will run at maximum power at all times.
Dual Boost System (Only for HC5550)
There are 3 settings for the Dual Boost system: Off, On, Boost.
- If the clipper is set to On, it will run at regular power.
- If the clipper is set to Boost, it will provide maximum power
Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning & Maintaining Your Clipper
After each use:
- Brush the accumulated hair from the cutters. Do not submerge the clipper in water.
Cleaning System
The cleaning system is designed to maximize the efficiency of washable cleaning.

Click the blade release buttons that are located on the sides of the hair clipper head. The blades will slide out allowing the blade to be easily be cleaned under the tap.

Once the blades are cleaned, lock them back into place by pushing the blade set towards the clipper body. You will hear a “click” when blades are locked into place.
-
Do not run the entire unit under the tap, only the blade set is meant to be rinsed in water.
-
Add oil, place a few drops of cutter or sewing machine oil onto the blades after rinsing with water.
Note: Ensure that the hair clipper is turned off when cleaning. Cleaning Cautions: -
Do not use liquid cleaners on the cutters or harsh or corrosive chemicals on the cutter casing.

Unplug the charge adaptor from the power outlet when not in use and when cleaning.
Storage
- Always store this appliance and cord in a moisture-free area.
- Do not wrap the cord of the charging adaptor around the appliance.
- Do not store in temperatures above 140ºF.
Troubleshooting
The clipper does not work when turned on:
- Clipper must be charged for a full 14-16 hours, or use clipper while plugged into wall.
Clipper cutters do not move:
- The cutting unit may be dirty and clogged. Clean the unit as directed in Cleaning & Maintaining section.
Clipper does not hold charge:
- Fully discharge battery by running clipper until it stops; then follow recharging instructions (see section on Charging Your Hair Clipper).

Product Disposal
Battery Removal
When your rechargeable clipper reaches the end of its useful life, the batteries must be removed and recycled or disposed of properly in accordance with your local and state requirements.
The following procedure should be followed for battery removal:
- Ensure device is unplugged from any electrical outlet.
- Remove blade for ease of disassembly and safety by using a phillips screw driver and removing both screws.
- Remove plastic screw plug from underside of unit, located under rating stamp using small flat head screw driver.
- Remove screw located under rating stamp from underside of unit.
- Use flat head screw driver to pry apart the body of the device into its two halves.
- Cut wires from the battery pack.
- Remove battery pack from the device
At the end of this product’s life, you can mail it to Spectrum Brands at 507 Stokely Drive, Deforest, WI 53532 marked “Product Takeback: Please Recycle!”
Warranty
Limited Three-Year Warranty
Spectrum Brands, Inc. warrants this product against any defects that are due to faulty material or workmanship for a three-year period from the original date of consumer purchase. This warranty does not include damage to the product resulting from accident or misuse.
